Yes, David could see a podiatrist about his heel spur, but he has chosen not to do so.

Cathy, I have a weird question! Did I send you a birthday card? I know I was thinking about it and I have a 'memory' of what I wrote in it but can't remember if I actually did it! I know it would have been early since your birthday isn't until Friday.

Never mind! I see I did!

Still thinking about how I want to organize my new paper. I love the file folder idea...I've got lots of file folders. Not sure what to 'house' them in that is transportable tho.

Mailman just came, so it must not be too bad out, at least not yet. Don't think it's been snowing for that long. Well Roxanne fruit doesn't count, right? So have two pears! Actually I'm curious, what type of pear do you have? It is so difficult for me to find a pear that is ripe and tastes the way a pear should, most of the ones in the store are like eating a piece of plywood so there is no attraction there.

When I was a kid my mom would order pears for Christmas from Harry and David in Oregon and those were soooo good! I'l love a good pear if I could find one that was edible. . .

First article coming along well. Goal is to have it finished today. Received another assignment due March 4, that is good news.

My mac and cheese recipe:

This only serves four so I usually double the recipe and Laura, if I just make it with GF noodles, it turns out fine for me to eat.

1 cup elbow macaroni
4 TBL sweet onion cho[pped fine
2 TBL butter
3 TBL flour (but I use cornstarch)
2 C milk
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 C shredded Cheddar cheese (I like sharp, but everyone has their own preferences)

Cook macaroni and drain. In medium saucepan melt the butter, cook onion until clarified but not brown, then blend in flour or cornstarch. (I use a whisk)
Add milk and Worcestershire sauce at once; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Then stir in cheese until melted. Pour into a casserole dish and bake 25 minutes at 350.

I like to make this with leftover baked ham, sometimes I'll add bacon (can we say cholesterol heaven?) Its very good with a nice salad made with a spring mix, pecans and dried cranberries.

There's a Harry & David at Tanger outlet mall in Howell. I know what you mean, my mom always canned fresh pears. That's what I grew up on. I think it's hard to get a good pear in the store.

Default SOS!

Sorry to jump on here and beg!
But I just called Joann.com and they told me of a couple stores that have the heart wreaths I need.

I called the following stores and this is what I found out:

Shelby twp Joann's has two.

Madison Heights has two.

If anyone is near these stores I would greatly, really, really really, appreciate if you could swing by there for me. I am willing to pay for gas, time, energy and priority shipping to get them by Friday, the day of my class.

Whoever can get these for me will have my undying love and attention FOREVER!

PLEASE!!

Yes, I'm not really good about getting actual cards in the mail. I'll make one but it takes me so long that then I have to return to the business of working for a living or cleaning the house and spending time with DH and DD, so my goal this year is to send out 365 cards to people, through church, or family, or wherever. . . I'm way behind already, as usual. But then I haven't made that many cards either.

I just need to make sure my life/stamping balance is in the proper order. KWIM?

Good pears are very hard to find! And the sawdust-tasting ones are SO disappointing!

Kim, PM me again what you are looking for and how many you need and I'll check the Joanns in Muskegon tomorrow, when I take mom to the dr. I THINK I can mail them from Muskegon PO and you will have them by Friday.

Gotcha! That does make sense. I have committed to getting more cards out this year, too, and I know I have family and friend birthdays to get out THIS WEEK or they will be late. Plus a couple of anniversaries.

And two of the 4 people in dh's department have been off the last 2 weeks. And the bosses can't figure out there's a problem!

So the tail end of the week has been interesting to say the least.

Wish I had time to read back, but I still have a card I need to make for next week . . I did one and don't like it at all.
Oh, my! SO glad your DD is okay! Bummer on getting stuck but it's minor, comparatively! KWIM?

Terry just e:mailed me to say that Molly's rope got caught in Bill's snowblower. Sounds like he's really pissed. He was clearing the path between our 2 homes and Terry said he'd just come in after trying to remove it from the blades.
Oh, no! Hope it didn't damage his snowblower! Yikes!

But will you be home ALONE, if you go, Karen?

All of Lansing must be sick. Walgreens was out of sherbet, almost out of OJ, and the kleenex section looks like a bomb went off.

so Em had lunch at the cafe, and i did the set up in my jeans, and my DH brought Em and I our dresses. Phew, did i luck out... if i had planned to do her hair and get us there by 4:15, not realizing the road conditions, i would've been really late for work.
That is a good price and PTL on the way things worked out! You would have been frantic and then driven too fast and who knows what might have happened!

PS, yes fruit is free....I only brought one pear to work.... I know what you mean...I buy the bartlett pears, but usually leave them out in a fruit bowl for about 5 days before they are edible, they are very green & hard when I get them....after they turn yellow I eat them and then they are great.

Picadillie, I'm so sorry for your Joann troubles... my work is moving to madison heights in 2 weeks, I wish they were there now, I'd go! I'm off on wed (well, not working) but I have to take DS to preschool then I'm volunteering in DD's class, and back to pick up DS, and have to go to girlscout lady to get candy incentives, then drop off at daisy leaders house, and DD gets out 1hr early that day, but if you are still desperate on wed, PM me and I will take DS with me for a little ride, mad hgts is prob about 25-30min, so not too bad, is it THIS friday you need them for?? oh dear

A Vibrant Church Ministry
1 Thessalonians 2:1-13

I. The Authority Of It's Message. 2:1-4

II. The Authenticity Of It's Messengers. 2:5,6

III. The Attitude Of It's Ministers. 2:7-11

IV. The Approach To Its Ministry. 2:12,13

It is usually 3 points and a poem. BUT sometimes a sermon warrants a 4th point. If anyone is interested in the subtitles I can fill that in for you if you would like.
Sounds like a great message! Sorry he still has a stiff neck but SO thankful that he wasn't seriously hurt in that accident!

Okay, I'm done with my 'desk' work for now. I'd better go get other things done.

I'll try to pop back in later!

I just looked up the hearts Kimmie wants, the brand is Floracraft which seems to be in Ludington MI, so maybe the trip someone was going to pay to Muskegeon will have them since its so nearby?
