He flew all the way to Philadelphia and home again and no presentation was made.
The CEO died at dinner last night. It was midnight and everyone thought he'd fallen asleep at the table ... he wasn't sleeping. 52 yrs old, healthy lifestyle (participated in bike races and iron man contests). How horrible is that?
Roy opted for a night alone in his hotel room, he's quite glad he wasn't there.
Oh, my goodness!
I'm glad Roy wasn't there, also! Sorry it was a wasted trip. That poor man's family!
Spent some time with my brother tonight. He's lonely, misses his girls terribly, and is very angry at the court system right now. He was good enough to raise and support these kids for ten years, while the biological father was in prison and strung out on heroin. The same man who has only talked to these kids once since their mother died, has failed three drug tests since this started, showed up in court stoned, and is now checked into rehab (on the states dime) what a winner. But child protection and the court system thinks he should have custody and that my brother and family are "nothing" to these girls. Not a lot of respect for the system going on around here right now.
Wrong, wrong, wrong! Oy.... that makes me so angry!

When we took down the trees, Dave lost his wedding ring. It is made of tungsten carbide so of course it blended in not to mention there were logs and twigs everywhere. He has been out there a couple of times looking for it with a metal detector. So today after work he comes over and goes out to look again. In five minutes he finds it in the grass, spotting it before he detects it with the metal detector. yay!!!
AND Hali got a 92 on a test that if she didn't get above a 90 she had to answer questions online. We are talking hundreds of questions. You have to answer more or less depending on what you get on the test. If you are above a 90 you don't have to answer any. Yay!
We are hurriedly getting ready for the office party in a few. Randy was called out last night for several hours and then worked on the same problem all day and just got home. Poor guy. I offered to let him skip, but he is hungry. Haha! Free dinner......

Too far away Mingler!

This weekend is very busy. I left work early to go pick up a Willow Tree Remembrance Angel to give to the family that just lost their dad/husband.
Came home, picked up Em and we went to the visitation. SO SAD. The poor daughter had taken a seat in the back of the room. Poor girl. Her mom stood right by the casket. Just seems like a bad dream.
Then I had to get Em to the school at 6 for a holiday concert at 7. We finally got home after 9:30.
Tomorrow, we need to be at the church for the service at 10. We then head to the school for 2 basketball games. Then we will run home, do chores, and then be back in town for Em to play her instrument on the corner before the parade.

Yvonne, that visitation sounded awful. That poor family. And Michelle's family, too. Just horrible beyond words.
The sun is up, I'm ready to spend another day trying to find places for all our worldly goods to live. I'm afraid there just isn't enough room for everything, Salvation Army is going to do awfully well this weekend.
Better get started, or it will be 3pm and I won't have done a thing.
