Jack worked with a man this week that is a couple levels above him. They worked on a machine from overseas and had a colleague in from that company. ANYway the man 2 levels above him wants him to go to Australia in his placement year. He is serious and that is a huge compliment. I don't know if it will happen, but it shows what jack knows and is capable of.
Emma, I'd be so upset about that carpet. Quality is just not what it used to be. I thought for as much as we paid for our floor, it'd be better than it is. It's not like it's getting ruined or anything but not as durable as we thought.
Debra, that is so awesome for him. I fancy a trip to Australia as well, maybe Jack could take us all.
I had/have a dr appt for Tuesday but I've been having a few more pains than I've even revealed to Chris. Last night I could not get my arm in any comfortable position and just pain, pain, pain. My back pain has been in a different location than what I see the DO for which is related to my ribs getting out of whack anyway. Before I left for the dr it felt like my bra was rubbing and bugging me in the armpit area (of course I did not shave today!!) but it was pain instead. I was able to get in today in hopes of getting some pain relief, no such luck. He did bring up some different avenues to explore and sent me for bloodwork, 4 viles!! Blood-drawer was NOT gentle and in my already sore arm. He is testing for arthritis and some inflammation test, vit D, don't really know what else. Should have some results on Tuesday. He did give me a different sleep aid, I'm afraid to take the Lunesta, haha!
I did take 2nd place in our salsa tasting contest at work today! First place was really good, well deserved!
It was. Especially with the way things have gone the last few days.
I didn't sleep at all Saturday night. One of those "why go to bed and just lie there looking at the ceiling?" nights. Then, Sunday night (actually Monday morning), I woke up at 2:30 with all the signs of a bladder infection. Tuesday morning's 4:30 wakeup confirmed that. But I went to the doc yesterday. She gave me two scripts and I slept all night and woke up feeling pretty normal! Wooo hoooooo!
Hope you are still feeling great and that sleep, hope that's been continuing!!
Oh Dianna, I'm so sorry, I hope he figures out what's wrong so you can get some relief. It must be very worrying not knowing the cause.
Thanks Emma, it's all ok though.....been going on for over a yr. I was ok over the summer due to my DO. The medial bills are more painful, haha. Won't be able to afford this with next yrs insurance! Just to see my DO for 15 mins or less is $147!! I wanted to stamp, 3 day wkend so this arm just better feel better tomorrow!!
We have a layering of snow here. Jaclyn was so excited.
It was weird last night, I was coming home about 6:30 and as I went over the bridge in Oshtemo there were little sleet pellets, pulled onto the hwy, nothing, all the way home, nothing! Then when I drive into work this morning as I got closer to oshtemo I saw more cars with snow on them and the over pass was wicked slick!! Our house, nothing!
I'm going to have a fruity Outshine popsicle. Yum!
Sent the snorer to bed!!
We've decided the Thunder coat is not for Farb's. We tried the herbal calming liquid Wed night to make sure there were not allergic reactions, etc. He did not seem as needy, wasn't cutting in when she was getting attention. So we tried it Thursday morning after they were outside. He did his usual playing and greeting us. He usually then goes and lays in front of the couch all pouty or in his crate. He didn't do that Thursday morning. So this may be the answer! It's nice to see that!
Up at 6.15 for an early shift at work. A co worker had foot surgery, and this was her Saturday to work, so I got elected. I'm working tomorrow my normal shift tomorrow so I can have next Sat off, since it's Dan's b-day. Technically this should be my weekend off.
Spent all day yesterday in the tractor and was happy to be home at 7pm. My shoulders hurt and my butt was getting sore from sitting all day. Not a hard job to do in a fancy tractor, but I was thinking of all the things I COULD be doing at home.
Emma, I hope they do right by you on the carpet. I would be very upset too.
Dianna, I hope you are on the mend soon.
Patty, we had a George Foreman, and it was great for one or two people. The cleaning thing was a hassle. Now I just grill a bunch of chicken breasts every now and then, let it cool, slice it, and flash freeze it. Then we almost always have some ready for salads, wraps, and quick meals.
We are having the antithesis of that tonight. Stef asked for fried chicken. I only make it once a year.
I love that Kim's Jo is working with Sue.
There was more. All I can think about is food. Time for first breakfast.

Carpet lady wasn't at Home Depot until Monday so I will follow up with them next week. I really hope we can come to some kind of compromise. The carpet is 100% su-standard. I think it's faulty. It started pulling the day it was laid, this can't just be wear-and-tear. There hasn't been any! I'll let you know.
I also bought paint which was colour matched to the new siding. We have a low brick wall under our bedroom windows which won't be sided so I need to paint it to match. Looks like today is the only day going to be above 50'F so I better do it after my pancakes.
I should show you some pics of the house. We bought a money-pit, unfortunately, but I think that would go for any house built in the 1950's.
