My mother bought the dvd for my niece, I have an old one. But 2.99 is GREAT. I went out and bought a dishwasher. I have been missing mine for a long time. It broke and we didn't fix it, then dh lost his job and I could not justify the expense. He picks it up tomorrow. I am so excited. We had a nice lunch out too.

Congrats on the new dishwasher! I'm glad your old one found a good job so you can play with us more! LOL
I've still been busy purging!!! Last night I went thru a 2 foot tall pile of papers and 3/4 got sent to the shred pile and the other 1/4 got filed away in it's proper place... One less pile in the house to look at... YEAH!!!
And I finished sanding the bookself... The wood is oak, but it has black water stains on it, so I researched how to get rid of 'em... Looks like bleach should take care of it for me...
And I did 2 loads of dishes and 3 loads of laundry and then folded the laundry...
Right now, the only people that would notice the internet being down would be the kids!!!
Tonight I'll be playing with bleach... No dishes... No laundry... No purging... Well, maybe just a little cuz I need to box up all the stuff in DD's room that she no longer wants...

The dishwasher is one appliance I can't live without!!! I'm so glad you're getting one again!!! YEAH!!!
Last Saturday, we had the van FULL!!! 1/2 went to Goodwill and the other 1/2 went to the recycle center...
And at the rate I'm going, we'll have another van full this Saturday...
I went thru EVERY magazine in the house on Sunday and if it was over 2 months old, it's getting recycled... I have two paper boxes (the kind that hold 10 reams) full of magazines... And I stacked the magazines on end so I could fit more in the box... Those boxes are HEAVY!!! And some of those magazines were over 5 years old!!!
If it's not bolted down or been used in the past year, then it's fair game!!!
It's time to declutter and get the house in order... I've been so busy doing other things that things have just piled up and the stuff was starting to take over... Not anymore!!! I'm in control and I'm getting rid of the stuff and getting the house back in order... It was so bad I didn't want anyone coming over because I didn't want them to see it!!! Now that's bad!!!

Has work calmed down any for you or are you still pulling your hair out there?
I'll have a truck load Sunday...but it's going to the baby shower but it still counts right?
It does clear off the one table in the craft room and the floor underneath it! Most of it is favors and disposable stuff except for the stack on the floor that are gifts that people dropped to me that can't come so it will come back home but go to Kaylee's bedroom!
I get rid of magazines right after we read them. I have recycled some before DH has even read them oops! It is much easier to pile and save stuff than deal with it. I am impressed Nancy, I can fly you to Boston if you will go through my house. We ALL have too much stuff. My boys will not part with stuff so I have to clean when they are not home.

My kids are catching the purging bug too... Both kids have gone thru their closets and bedrooms and gotten rid of stuff they no longer want, need, like, use or wear...
They'are amazed at how clean and organized their rooms are... Gee, go figure... Less stuff, means less mess...
Fly me out Pia, and your house will never be the same!!! If it's not bolted down or used in the past year, it's GONE!!!
I will have to get my dh to agree, a lot of the stuff is his. He is a paper saver, it drives me crazy. I am good about going through clothes, I get rid of baby stuff a few times. I had just gotten rid of the last item the crib when I found out I was pregnant with our youngest. We have lots of stuffed animals.
I need to weed my craft stuff too, but I may use it someday!
I donated alot of the nicer stuff animals to the local fire & police departments... When they go on a call, if there's a child involved, they give the child a stuff animal and it helps "make things better"...
Oh no, I'm not touching my scrap area... It's off limits!!! I NEED EVERYTHING!!!
Here is my dining room table because I guess I just need lots of space to work! Oh and that box of photos my FIL gave me. He had it in his garage and was going to throw it out! GASP!
I move to the dining room too! Your closet is so organized. I did not scrapbook when we had the house built, I would have done things a little differently if I had. We have no intention of moving so I am stuck with my corner. I am slowly weeding. I would love to empty my whole house and start over.

What kind of pictures did you find? I have been tossing negatives, I haven't used them in all these years.
All kinds of pictures. Some from when DH's parents got married! Some of my kids, my SIL's wedding, old pictures of DH's grand parents. It's a treasure trove!!

My hubby finished off a room in the basement for me but right now my craft table has folded laundry on it so my coffee table upstairs in the living room has been taken over by my scrapbooking stuff cause my kitchen table has already been taken over by my quilting stuff. I promised DH I would get all my stuff back in my craft room this weekend so I guess I'll be cleaning and putting stuff away. I keep trying to convince my son that he wants the room downstairs so I can take over his upstairs but he's not falling for it yet.

Tossing negatives! Gasp!!!!
I have a small box of negatives and they have come in handy. I have a scanner that scans negatives and then I can crop them etc and have prints made. I can scan them at a high resolution and print in any size.

Happy Thursday everyone!!!
Let me know how the bleach works on the stains. I have some on my floors & have been told the same thing but was afraid to try it. I also must say, I'm so green with envy that you have been knocking things out at your house as far as organization. Maybe if Pia flys you to Boston I can fly you to Greensboro & you can help me with mine as well. I have found paperwork from dh's dad (this was their house) from the 1940's & 50's. I have decided to sell many things on e-bay starting really soon. I just need to get dd1 over to help me put a few things on so I learn how to do it. I have already gotten things sorted out for that & there are 34'ish bags of uniforms & jeans to put on. I also have some clothes I can't wear now that need to find a new home. I keep a bin for Goodwill and recycled paper. I have a couple boxes of mags that I need to get rid of. 1 is all papercrafting ones so I really want to go through that one first & just pull the pages of items I might use. But I am into so many crafts I just need to whittle them down. I papercraft, sew, bead, needle work, and yarn crafts. The problem is there are many things I can use between them all I just can't seem to make myself get rid of but so much. I've also had kids move out and in so many times it feels like our door is one of those revolving kind (DD1 is the only one who has left & not come back other than to visit). I'm trying hard to get things sorted through so I can feel less stressed. Sounds like you all understand all that. LOL

I always get double prints, some to scrap and the rest are neatly in albums--so I am not worried

I know when we tore down the family farm this spring to put in the modular for MIL I was amazed at some of the old things we found in the attic and even between walls. DH would removed a wall and I'd sift through all the little stuff. The only thing we didn't find was his Mom's wedding ring that DH tossed under the table playing one time when he was very small. That was the main reason I was sifting but we didn't find it...
That is too bad about the ring. I lost my wedding and engagement ring too. I had taken them off to clean, when I finally got back to put them on, it was a week later, they were gone. All we can figure is they got knocked into the trash and we didn't notice. I was upset, but life goes on.

His Mom hasn't had hers since DH was about 4 or 5 and with FIL passing away last year we were really hopeing to find them when we tore the house down. Thinking since life had changed so much for her and now even the house that would have been a nice thing to have when she moved into her new house. I never even wear mine they are in my jewelry box. I have almost lost my diamond twice from "abuse". Twice I was lucky to see that the mount was partially broken off before I lost it so the 3rd time the jewler put a new mount on my ring I figured why chance it again! I have worn it occasionally when we went out but that's about it. I never know what we are going to get in to after work so I don't even feel safe wearing it to work! Maybe Kaylee can have it someday! LOL

If there is something you like in a magazine, I cut the page out and put it in a binder for future reference. Why keep the whole magazine for one idea.
