Isn't cleaning great when that happens? We should hide $$ from the kids and challenge them to clean and find it!

well friends I am now officially laid off! woohoo! They are not subjecting me to working out my notice with my supervisor, and the boss is helping me fill out the unemployment paperwork Friday when I go in to clean out my office. The whole deal isn't over and I may still end up back at work but they have some things to take care of first. I'm so glad they aren't making me work my notice out with her! I'm also hopeing they fire her or at least reprimand her good for the way she treated me! I am still able to go see the clients any time I want and attend anything I want to that the company does. I'm still a part of the team so that makes me feel good too! Plus, new baby, laid off, awesome timing! Charli took her last pill at noon today so it's anytime now for Kaylee to come visit us!

I've heard that as well Pia and for some reason I'm thinking our state puts it on a debit card of some sort...idc at least I can have a little income while things are looked at closer and it's perfect timing with Kaylee due!

No baby yet...not even any contractions...well, at least not that she feels but she didn't feel some of them before!

For dh it was direct deposit, he had to file online every week. Just be sure to jump through all the hoops!

I am happy that I didn't get the floor washed yesterday. My youngest spilled choc milk this morning. So my first job tomorrow is washing the floor.

Enjoy your day everyone!

From what I read and talking to my boss I will have to file online every 2 weeks and they do use debit cards or will also direct deposit to my checking account. It will be about half what I'm making now but it's better thsn nothing until the whole mess is sorted out. Who knows maybe I'll just stay home and be Grandma and Charli can go get a job and pay her own car payment! LOL

Pia,
Here is my 17 y/o DS's Christmas list for this year. Maybe this will help you think of some ideas.
DJ HEro
Power BAlance bands
Micro SD card
Hawkeye Shirts
xbox games
knit cap in favoritse teams
the clapper (lol)
columbia fleece jacket-he really wants a north face but knows that won't happen
indoor water fountain (lol again)
under armour beanie
radar detector--yeah that won't be happening!!
Hollister Jake cologne
Hawkeyes mouse pad
Hawkeyes floor mats
Hawkeyes Skinit (phone cover)
Air Hockey puck and paddles
Sky Ball

also, a few years ago I started filling boxes of snack foods for my older boys. I figure that they are home on Christmas break and they are going to eat me out of house and home anyway so its a win-win.

Pia ~ my oldest is 15 and she tells me what she wants for Christmas... Works for me... I'd rather get her stuff she wants than stuff she doesn't... She gets another of that on her dad's side of the family... They ask her what she wants and then they buy her everything except what she asked for... Happiness is not in that family's vocabulary!!! All of the Christmas presents she got last year from his side were donated to Goodwill because it was all stuff she didn't want, didn't like, wasn't her style or didn't fit... And that family doesn't believe in giving gift receipts so the unwanted gift can be exchanged for something else... Ok, enough about that family because I'm getting pissed just from typing about them!!!!

~ And you rock on your $5 bill savings!!! Have fun on Black Friday... Think of me at 5am because I'll still be in my nice warm bed sound asleep!!!

Nat ~ Iowa City High plays for the state championship on Friday night at the dome... Go Little Hawks!!!

I had to do away with most of my greenery on the shelfs in the livingroom that Bailee could reach from the furniture. Well, let me rephrase that...I had to throw out the greenery Bailee Rae removed and chewed up all over my floor while I was at work months ago...I guess she knew I hated cleaning them too! LOL

Hey, I hope you guys don't mind me posting this here but was hoping you wouldn't mind. My youngest brother is currently serving in Iraq. We send him a goodie box the first of each month with letters from all of us and lots of goodies from home. My daughter decided that she would like to send 2 boxes this month. One with the normal goodies from us and another filled with cards and letters (She was thinking Christmas) for the troops for them to open and share at Christmas. I know that they would really appreciate the kind words especially during the holidays. If anyone is interested in sending a sighned card to my daughter to include in her box just PM me. Thanks so much.

I should add that she is planning on sending her boxes out on Dec. 1st. I've been told that becuase of where they are it will need to be sent by that date to ensure delivery by Christmas.

Natalie,

Are you just wanting us to send you cards for your daughter to write in or are you wanting ones we have written or both? Is there anything else we might could send as well?

If you would like to send them signed that would be great. I am sending some unsigned cards and postage for them to send out to their families as well if you would rather send unsigned. You guys are really sweet. Thanks. My daughter is so excited about doing this. She has had alot of fun putting together boxes for the last few months.

How is everyone's Christmas shopping going?

Does anyone have ideas for girls age 12,13,15? My husband has 3 nieces that we hardly ever see, the limit is $30 I think. No gift cards for 2 of them, they have January birthdays and we usually give a gift card for that.

just checking in...no baby yet....still waiting! We have been hauling logs out of the woods today and stacking in the "firewood" pile. It's much easier to have them in one pile and then we can cut and split all at one time. I'm ready for a nap!

I designed our Christmas card and I have my sample done! I need to dig out a few more snowflake stamps and I am good to go!

Well here's my advise from a scrapping novise -

1. how to sort her pics (chronologically, by person, by event, etc)
2. the differences between topload & side load pages and post or strap books
3. Then decide how you want to do the book's theme
4. what kinds of things can and shouldn't be put into the book (my CM buddy says there are so many things that will mess up your book should you have it around for , oh say, 80 years.
5. types of glue (tape runners, glue sticks, glue pens, dot runners, etc)

Those are my 2 cents. Hope it helps

Thanks Donna, she just had a baby so we are starting with his book. I made her a book of holiday pages, everything from swaps. I forgot to ask her what size she is going to use.
