Have fun shopping!

Someone knocked Katrina's laptop on the floor in her dorm room and the hard drive is toast. I ordered a new hard deive from Best Buy today and need to pick it up tomorrow. I hope the recovery cd works. She's not getting a new laptop!

We need to decorate the tree tomorrow and DH is going to get the lights up outside. Otherwise no plans.

I hope it isn't too expensive to fix! I dropped mine once but it was the screen.

I had fun shopping today. I bought craft stuff for projects and some gifts. I am done with my kids! That is huge for me! I think I am done with dh too. I have a few more gifts to buy and then some to make

The hard drive was only $60. Just put in in and installing the software.

After we picked up the hard drive, Katrina and ended up going to JC Penney. It wasn't to bad. Of course it was around 3:30 when we got there. I got her some clothes and two gifts. Then we ran into Toys R Us and I got two more gifts.

Did you do any cyber Monday shopping?

I bought rechargeable batteries and Gone With the Wind for Katrina. I thought she owned the book since she read it at least twice and loves it. She doesn't, she kept borrowing it from the library and my MIL.

I am getting there, slowly! Still having trouble with the girls.

I told DH not to get me anything and I am not sure if he already did!

Wow! That's great. I still don't know what to get the in-laws. I saw a sweater I might go back and get my mom. I'm not sure.

My father in law is getting food stuff--Cub Scout popcorn, chocolates, pretzels, a food basket of sorts. He never likes what we buy anyway. And dh is still not working so we are cutting back. MIL is getting a cute snowman candle holder that Lucas picked out. I have to say they are on my nerves right now so I am not going crazy.

I bought my mother a pandora bracelet months ago so she is getting that. I am making a shadow box for my father with some Italy pictures. I want to make my mother a family sb but not sure if i can get to it. My brother and sil just got a keurig so they are getting coffee stuff. I altered a cigar box for my sister and am giving her a Joann fabric gc, not sure what to get her dh. The kids are done. I just bought bracelet for dh's nieces today and got them Smash books.

Get this, my sister said that my parents are only buying the kids gifts this year and not adults. So when I called at Thanksgiving, my dad said the same thung and they aren't getting Katrina a gift since she is 18! Isn't that special. But he never said don't get them gifts. So I called again and asked what to get my mom for Christmas, hoping he would say don't get us anything. NOT

So, I either buy an extra gift for Katrina and say its from my parents so she doesn't get her feelings hurt or tell her they didn't send her a gift. Just great.

How many grandkids are there? Is one more gift going to hurt them? That bites. I would tell her but she will be mad. I would say no adults at all and not buy them anything! If that is their rule then let it be a family rule! My mother still likes us to have gifts so she give us a few each. She would never not buy for the kids, my oldest niece will be 21 in Jan. My in-laws are another story and my kids know it!

My kids are the youngest grand kids. They have 3 great grand kids (my sisters grand kids) and one other great grand kid (my brother's). So only 7 gifts if you include my three.

So I am not sure what the deal is. This is the first time. They did send her $100 for her birthday which is today but still that is like having your birthday on new years and getting screwed on your birthday.

Lucas' bday is the 28th so I feel your pain. You should just ask them. 7 gifts is not too many. My mother has 6 and I have the majority! My brother has 1, my sister has 2. My oldest niece is turning 21 in Jan. Thom has 3 nieces. One is his brothers and the other are his sisters. They do a swap. So every year I buy for the 3 girls and they get the boys. I think it is silly but that is what they want to do. there is a 25-30 limit too. We do not exchange with his siblings but do with mine.

We of course got nothing in the house done! I worked yesterday and then we had dinner with the Boy Scouts who were camping near by. The boys cook a turkey dinner for their families. This morning I volunteered at a tree festival, it was cool. My mother had to get Lucas at church cuz Thom had to get Nicko from camping. We are way too busy for my liking!
We get a real tree so we have to wait a bit.

We used to cut down a real tree. The artificial is nIce. I don't have to worry about it dropping needles everywhere!

Jim works on Sunday so it is usually a quiet day at home.

I know I try really hard not to, but it just happens! I signed up for a cricut class Friday that covers cutting fabric, vinyl, etc. I am looking forward to it.

I was afraid you were going to say a swap! LOL

That sounds like fun. I heard you need to have iron-on interfacing attached to the fabric to cut with it. If you quilt, I bet the Cricut would be useful.

I'm. It sure heat I would do with vinyl.

I tried felt with the interfacing and had trouble not sure it was too thick. It was only $18 so I think it will be good. Someone on wish rak made me a plastic cup with the vinyl, it is so cool. I want to make some for Christmas gifts.

Is your shopping done? I hope to finish shopping this weekend and then work on making a few more gifts.

Not finished shopping. I want to try and finish this week.

Maybe you need a deep cut blade and try multi cut for felt. If your Cricut doesn't do multi cut, then I just hit load paper again (do not unload the mat) and cut it again.

Cut it free for a week

Thought of you when I saw this!

How does the vinyl stick? Does it have adhesive on it? Do you have to hand wash the cups/glass/mug etc when it has vinyl on it?

These are some of the reasons I have not attempted it!

I'm looking for a cute "wintery" theme table favor. Fast, easy, cute ... those are the words needed to describe it. I'm running out of time and need to make 25.
Help?

Hi, you posted this in the wrong thread. Have you tried looking I the tutorials for ideas? You might try posting your question in the general stamping talk forum.

The class was great. We cut vinyl, fabric, magnet and sticky stuff. We made a little bag, a vase, and an ornament, a magnet too.

The vinyl is super easy! I have been personalizing plastic cups for gifts. I am making them for goody bags for Lucas' party too.

Details please!

I need to make a give for Kaitlyn's buddy at school. A personalized cup would be cool.

Do you need a deep cut blade for vinyl? Do you need to hand wash your cup?

Post some pictures!

I can make that! I have a snowflake on cartridges. I will send a picture of the vase I made. I even used my gypsy to weld the letters for the girl's names! I had to order more colors.

They say you can wash the cup in the dishwasher but I just do it by hand. They are so EASY! I am at work but I will check the settings. You can do water bottles too. I bought the dollar cups at dollar tree for his birthday party. otherwise I got them for 3.99 at TJMaxx. I want to say you set eveything on 3 for the vinyl. I can send you some vinyl. I only have 5 colors now, but I ordered more.

I didn't know DH was having surgery. I hope it was something minor.

Katrina comes home tonight. Her last final was yesterday.
