I might be interested in them. Please let me know before you list them, if you don't mind.

That's what I was thinking too. I just wanted to get him some bigger stuff, and if we are still in this house, we don't have room for it. Oh well. There are definitely worse things.

Cool on the cake plates, and that cupcake stand sounds amazing!!!! I wouldn't spend that much on it, either, but WOW!

The second is of the box that all the stuff is stored in. It's got really cool embossing and texture on it.

And the a view of the inside. One each side, there's a ribbon that pulls up a flap and the pieces to the senet game and a few other things are stored in there. In the bottom of the box, the thing that was on the Hatch door is printed, but you can't see it unless you turn a black light on it. (A little blacklight flashlight came with it)

I so did NOT want to go. But Rich's bank had offered up free lawn seats to anyone that wanted them. Rich hates to pass up FREE. It was ok, I was just exhausted. So we didn't even go to bed until 3 that night.

Anyway, I should totally get to the gym today, but it's just not in me. Rich offered me "immunity" until after Labor Day. LOL! He's just so kind.
Dude! How could NOT want to go to an Aerosmith concert? Especially a free one?????? I'd go even if I was half dead! LOL!!!!

Nice of RIch to give you "immunity" from the gym.

here's a little tid bit I forgot to share.

My sneaky friend Lori did some investigating for me - but didn't use my name.

She checked w/ another person who has watched the kids I watch on Tues.
First, she won't do it anymore. Seems the sibling figihting was too much for her. They've been fairly tame in that dept. for me but I can see how it could be worse.
Second, she was watching just the girl when she was in 1/2 day kindergarten.
She was being PAID for that.
At some point the boy was added and the woman assumed an increase in payment b/c of 2 kids and a longer day.
When that didn't happen she said something but Sue seemed confused about it...and why it should be increased.

Now I'll never say a thing about this to Sue b/c I don't want to betray confidences and I don't really know this woman that used to watch the kids (so how would I know all of that) and my issue is my own fault for not speaking up.

The point is...for some reason or other Sue saw me as doing her a FAVOR and not a paying job.

Yesterday she and I were talking about the upcoming school year and how they get out of school 1 Thu a month VERY early and she said maybe she could take Kate.
I think she's thinking she'll pay me back w/ kid sitting.
I just know that'll never happen with her busy schedule. I told her flat out (nicely) that I can't rely on her to be there to watch Kate b/c she's always going somewhere after school.

I have our buy price.
The Fair Trade stuff has their own web site where they sell some of it retail. We dont' want to go any higher than there or someone COULD go find it online for less.

I'm beginning to think that the vast majority of Americans are undereducated!

I wonder why some kids think it's cool to be dumb?
Knowledge is powerful.
I mean I don't know where everything is on a map...I can't spell every word...I know I can't form senteces (man I hated that in school!!) and I can't have a politcial discussion but there are lots of interesting things out in the world to find out about!

Suz, I think everyone else is working!

I'm avoiding it.
I'm making up prices that could be changed (which I'm ok with) but I hate to put price/product #'s on them if they're going to be changed.

I don't get this either. Bryan was so worried about getting good grades and looking like a smart kid last year. He WANTED to get C's! It frustrated us to no end!

My dad was telling us the other day that incoming freshman at some major universities can take two semesters of ebonics or "cultural language" and get credit for freshman English. These will be the same kids who will wonder why they can't get a job when they graduate because they can't write a grammatically correct sentence.

Ed's company is doing a major hiring push right now. He was talking to the recruiters the other day after they had spent two days at the Texas Workforce Commission. One was saying that if one more young person came up to her and said "Wat dis?" or "Wat dey do?" she was going to scream.

I think you're right! Either that or they all went to lunch!

Why put prices on things just to change them? Is there any way you could check with Laura before you price everything?

Oh Suz!!! DIS? DAT? No, no, no!
I think some people talk like that when they're lazy and with their friends - same way i say shoulda, woulda and coulda - but I KNOW the right things to say and use them I'm talking to someone properly.

Why put prices on things just to change them? Is there any way you could check with Laura before you price everything?

Oh, I do the same thing, but these kids are applying for call center positions! The recruiters got the distinct impression that DIS and DAT were 24/7 for these folks. NOT GOOD!

BTW, there is a commercial airing on a local radio station for laser hair removal and the radio announcer says (and I quote) "You're gonna wanna call....." SRSLY!!!!!!

Gonna wanna.

Heard it the other night while I was cooking supper. Just about dropped my spoon. Gonna wanna. Local radio personality. Gonna wanna. Still shaking my head over that one!

Tummy is empty. I'm going to go see if I can find something bland and non-urp-inducing to eat. TTFN!

Did you look at the liquor stores? I think I got my plastic one at World Market a few years ago.
