Keep your fingers crossed that the stuff brewing off of Africa doesn't turn into anything for me wouldja? I'm really scared at the two spots out there that have a chance of becoming storms canceling my trip!
Crossed, definately! No bad weather for your trip! Sunny Skies and Calm Seas!!!
Ron took me out Saturday to a nice restaraunt called Erie Station. I had cajun shrimp alfredo.... oh my yum!
I made a major breakthough this weekend. It's kind of funny and irritating to me all at the same time. Ron has a group of friends he has been friends with FOREVER. Like all through school. The group is six guys including Ron. Sometime back, before I ever even met Ron, Gretchen was telling me about these guy friends of Melanies that she met, and the conversation came up because Melanie likes one of them (Rons friend Kristian) and one of the things she told me is these guys are slow to warm up and are not very welcoming to new girlfriends to the group.
Let me tell you - she wasn't joking. These guys barely ever even spoke to me when I saw them, sometimes they didn't even say hello. Of course I am thinking what a bunch of jackholes. I can't imagine, say for example, Gretchen bringing a new guy around and me not talking to him. Well this weekend we went up to the bar after dinner to meet up with his friends and Gretchen and Melanie - and ALL of them spoke to me and said hi to me, and engaged me in conversation. I was stunned. Even the worst of the two, because not all of them were bad. Weird dymanic those guys have. I am relieved because I used to dread and avoid going up to "their" bar. Not that we even did all that often, but the few times we did.
I told Gretchen, I guess this makes me official now. LOL!

AW! That's cool.
Bummer that they're so slow to warm up to girl friends but it's kind of sweet how protective they are of their friend.

Pretty good. I could complain about the same old things, but I won't! LOL! Ok maybe I will! Some days I feel very overwhelmed with selling this house, because things aren't moving, I get lowball offers, and I wonder, do I sell at a reduced price, with keeping in mind rates are so low right now, and anything I buy will also be a lower price than it would be in a better market, or do I keep waiting? In the end, I could make out the same.
Most of the time I just go with it and figure it will happen as it's supposed to. My major concern is I need a car. I can't afford one until I sell. I worry I will have to put more money it my old junky Stratus.
Man, I hope you can get a good offer soon. I don't know anything about selling a house to know what the right thing to do is. Best wishes!!!!!

Kris, do you know for sure they would cancel it or divert you to a different port?

Hello Gals I am so sorry I am MIA lately... I promise I will work on managing my time better so I can actually catch up on everything. I have not had much internet time with all the studying I have been doing. A few FB status updates via phone are about it I hope everyone is well and that you all have a Great Hump day! Miss you guys bunches... It honestly bites!
All area schools have a 2 hour delay today due to the rain/flooding. Poor Ed had to go into work last night. The main highway that connects all the towns around here was closed - under 4 1/2 FEET of water!!!! In the 20+ years I've lived here I've never seen that! Something tells me that the civil engineers that designed the new six lane highway didn't take into consideration how fast and furious rain can fall in Central TX. We never had that problem back in 2007 before the road construction was complete and we had multiple floods in a two month time frame.
Not windy at all today. Last night it wasn't too bad, either. It was odd that hte wind was coming from the east, but it really wasn't bad. Just tons and tons of rain.

Crossing fingers! I hope they die down to nothing more than a little black rain cloud that resembles Winnie the Pooh trying to get the bees' honey.

Nice. I remember the storms in Houston. Everything turned into a swimming pool, quickly. I hope you dry out soon.

Last night was a marathon happy hour. I guess more like happy night. We were there until 11:00!
Vinny totally loves us. For 12 martinis, 8 shots, 5 beers, pizza, and wings, our bill only came to $82. He didn't charge us for any of the shots (SoCo & lime for the first round, Cafe Patron for the second), the wings, at least a couple of the beers, and a few of the martinis. It's nice to be friends with the bartender!

once I get the results from the ultrasound tomorrow, I plan on calling the hospital and letting the bear loose on them. first of all they were not very nice to me. Total different experience I had than when Brandon went on Friday. I got there and I couldn't catch my breath and breath. I was panicking and the nurse tells me that I am fine to take deep breaths. She wheels me into the back room and tells me to get on the bed. She sees me struggling to breathe and I ask her to help me on the bed and she says "No, you can do it yourself". Then she is yelling at me to take off my shirt so she can put electrobes on my chest. I ask her to help me and again she replies, "No, you can do it yourself". So I get undressed and they put the elecrodes on me and the Dr comes in to listen to my chest and he can hear my breathing is shallow and labored and he asks me to breathe quieter. They take a chest x-ray and a ct scan and say all is normal and sends me home with 101 fever and blames it on the fibromyalgia.
Jerkwads! Let them have it!

So, I'm on the verge of buying more Copics. I'm thinking of using some of the Biggest Loser money that I've received so far (still waiting on a couple of folks). Not all of it, because that is the beginning of my Boozapalooza fund. Should I spend some of it on Copics? Should I not?
There are some colors that I just don't have - oranges, purples, blue-greens. I don't need or want every color, but it seems that when I sit down to use them I'm always reaching for a color I don't have. I think I either need to sell them and go back to using my Prismacolor pencils or buy more markers. UGH!

I went out and found a bed yesterday. Thankfully the Labor Day sales were still on. There were some free ad-ons with any matress purchase over a certain price. I get the idea of free pillows, sheets or a bedframe. But I did find it odd that they were giving away a faux-leather headboard and a 19" flat screen tv.

Exactly!!!! My sister gets pleurisy pretty regularly and it's excruciatingly painful! What idiots to not be observant of your pain and willing to help you! Freaking morons.
