Good morning! It's amazingly cool here today - 11:00 and still in the 70's! Unheard of for early Sept in Texas! I've had the windows and front door open all morning - sooooo nice! I still have a touch of a headache, but it's not nearly as bad as it has been. My chores for the week are done, so I'm planning on veggin' today. Ed's doing chores out in the garage and yard, so I probably won't see too much of him today. Tomorrow we plan to go to Austin and then Monday we plan to stay home.

Sounds like you have an enjoyable weekend planned! Demo derby sounds fun! We haven't been to one in years!

Holy Moly! Sounds like he has serious mental issues! Had a distant family member like this. Stole from friends, family, everyone. Knew what he was doing was wrong, but just kept doing it. In and out of prison for years until he was in his late 40's and was properly diagnosed and put on the right meds and STAYED on them. Very sad situation looking back on it. Wasted the majority of his life.

I use this one, with honey instead of sugar and as I said, an extra egg

By Monday we are supposed to be "High in the 60's" so we will see

Oh he did, I just didn't report him partly because I still loved him for some reason, but mostly because if he'd gone to jail, I didn't know how I'd pay for our rent all by myself, as well as the car and motorcycle he talked me into getting in my name. I couldn't afford all that on my own, so I was scared of having him arrested and being in an even worse situation than I was already in.

But he did open 6 credit cards in my name using my social security number, to the tune of nearly $12,000. And he stole checks that came to me in the mail, like expense checks that came to me from work, forged my signature on the back, and deposited them into his account. And stole checks from my personal account and used them to pay for things for himself, again forging my name. And most of the time, there wasn't enough money in there to cover whatever he was buying, so they'd bounce and I'd get charged all kinds of fees. It was a little over a year from when I first discovered what he was doing (all because I ordered my credit report just out of curiosity) until I finally got the strength to kick him out and just face rent, etc. on my own because that was better than living with a liar who was continuing to steal from me.

I'm feeling a little bit of guilt that, because I didn't press charges, he was able to go on and hurt other people too. Though according to that article it was over 3 years from when he was first reported until he was actually arrested, so I suspect that he would have continued his ways, no matter what I'd done.

I agree! I just took a two hour nap out on the lounge chair on my deck, and while I now feel a little groggy and drugged, it was quite nice!

I was thinking that same thing - that it really wasn't much harder at all. A little extra measuring, but that's it. I'm considering mixing up a few batches of the dry ingredients and storing it in an airtight container so that way when I want some, I just have to make the buttermilk and add the egg and butter. Then it really wouldn't be harder than Bisquick!

Ouch! I knew you were in debt because of him, but I had no idea it he had done all of this! You're right that he would have continued his ways no matter what you would have done, and there are no telling how many other people he has used and abused along the way that haven't reported him. I'm glad they caught him and I hope he get the help needs and the punishment he deserves!

We hit a couple of our usual shops, Academy sports, Justice for Girls, Payless shoes and Souper Salad for lunch. Predictable but fruitful. I went and watered the plants at my MIL's house. One whole hour and a few mosquito bites later but they pay me to do this when they go out of town. I am such a mercenary!

I got some of those toning type walking shoes at Payless

Champion Fitness - Payless Shoes

They really do feel comfortable even though I don't think they are that attractive. I had a coupon too so that helped.

I'd say those should last him and his buddies all of a day or 2 to polish off! Care packages from home are the best!

I'm really enjoying the book I started this afternoon. It's called Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati and it's a historical romance. Kind of reminds me a bit of the Outlander books. I took an hour and a half long bubble bath because the book was so good and I didn't want to stop reading long enough to get out but the water finally got too cold.

So yesterday may have been one of the most perfect days ever!
Puttered around the house.
Laid in the hammock w/ Tom and found shapes in the clouds.
Did all of 1 load of laundry.
Hung out w/ Kate on the deck while she let her Barbies swim in their pool.
Picked up sticks in the yard.
Roasted a chicken for dinner.
Had a fire outside. Made S'mores. Laid in the hammock w/ Tom & Kate and looked at the stars.

Just a perfectly pleasant day all around!

I think our walk/picnic might be put off until tomorrow.
Kate really wants to go play mini golf for some reason so we may do that instead.

Other than that I hope today is just like yesterday!!

Picked up sticks in the yard.
Roasted a chicken for dinner.
Had a fire outside. Made S'mores. Laid in the hammock w/ Tom & Kate and looked at the stars.

Just a perfectly pleasant day all around!
Aww, I'm glad you had such a wonderful day!

I had the most "off" night last night. I fell asleep on the couch at like 12:30 and woke up shortly after 1. Went up to bed and could not fall asleep. Laid there for over an hour and a half and finally got up and decided to make myself some herbal tea that's supposed to relax you. Still couldn't fall asleep. Read my book for a while. It was after 4am before I actually went to sleep!

I find it hard to believe that the little half hour nap on the couch was enough to keep me awake that long. So, I think it's just further confirmation that I need to take better care of myself. I ate nothing but unhealthy things yesterday and expended absolutely no energy. And it's messing up my sleep.

I can't decide what I want to do with myself today. I feel like I should go to the beach, but I just don't know if I'm in the mood to get all lotioned up and pack my bag and go over there and deal with the crowds.

Do it Jess!!!! For all us girls that don't have a beach to go to, it is your duty.

I bought a mini tube of Coppertone to keep in my purse for when I need that "beach/pool" smell.

Who knows who could be there today?

Later this afternoon we are going to a little going away think for Emily and her family. If you didn't know, Matthew's new orders have them stationed in Virginia and they are leaving Monday or Tuesday.

I got some of those toning type walking shoes at Payless

Champion Fitness - Payless Shoes

They really do feel comfortable even though I don't think they are that attractive. I had a coupon too so that helped.
Did you watch the "See it in Action" video?

Does anyone walk that way for fitness? She is Sashaying her hips like she has 4" heels on!

LOL! You're right, she's totally walking like she's on a runway, not exercising!

I have had the laziest day ever today. Jacquita, I'm sorry, but I decided not to go to the beach! I just didn't have the energy, plus it was pretty breezy even here, away from the water, so I figured it would be even more so at the beach and I'm not a fan of sand blowing in my eyes.

I made myself some pepperoni pizza puffs for breakfast and then laid out on my deck reading for a while. Once the sun was gone from the deck it got chilly so I came inside, read on the couch for a while, and then slept for a good 2 hours at least. Now I feel all groggy and drugged. I really should go to Target, but I just don't know if I have it in me.

My mind is made up. I'm not going to Target tonight. I hear a bunch of neighbors hanging out outside and I don't feel like having to be friendly. I am such an antisocial hermit sometimes! I haven't left this house, except to go out to the deck, in over 48 hrs!
