Certainly! Totally forgot about the Chat Box Fun forum, so moving over there. Illinois Stampers sounds like a great group title too .... I've passed along that request for you.

I do think that it is a great idea to have a chat group. I, like Jen, am not sure where to find us now?
Thanks for your help!

Hi everyone! My name is Pat...and I like to papercraft so much, I'm going to sign up as an SU demo whenever my demo comes back from convention. I should have taken the plunge awhile ago--I've made wedding invitations for three weddings, programs for two weddings, and rehearsal invitations for three weddings--all in the last four years. Now that my three kids are married, I'm planning on getting more involved in Operation Write Home--a card initiative to make cards to send to the military so they can send them to their loved ones. My son is in the Marines and I like the idea of doing this.
I live south of Champaign; and although I LOVE to shop at Daisy Lane in Mattoon, I know I'll need to throttle back on purchases (and purchase from myself! lol!). The store mentioned in Tremont sounds interesting...I may stop in when I'm up there sometime. There's also a neat scrapbook store in the little town of Somonauk (west and south of Aurora) called Peddler's Den. It has a great variety of wooden stamps. I, too, like to stop at LSS when I travel.

Welcome Pat! Congratulations on becoming an SU demo! It's clear you have the talent for it. I, too, make cards for Operation Write Home! Both of our daughters are married and I only work part-time, so that wonderful organization allows me to make cards (which I love doing) and support an awesome cause! God bless your son. Please tell him "thank you" from one of the many American citizens who live in freedom because of him.

Hi Pat! Welcome! Wow! 3 weddings in 4 years! Congratulations on becoming a SU demo! I have thought about doing something like that, but I still work full time as an insurance agent and have a son in highschool yet. Looking forward to getting to know you on here. I will have to check out Peddler's Den when I get that direction!

I'm Linda, currently and happily retired, due to some health issues. I share my home with my furry kitties, and a husband. I have been making cards for a couple of years, introduced by Stampin Up, then branched out where ever I can find inspiration. I would consider my stile as CAS. I love traveling, and searching for shops along the way!!! I also collect web-sites to order stamps and other card making items!!! "My name is Linda, and I am a Stampaholic!!!"

What's your story???
Hi Linda! My name is Krista. I am from the Peoria area. I am married with 3 kids. I have been scrapbooking for 13 yrs and stamping for 7. I was an SU demo for about 6 yrs, but have let it go because life just isn't allowing me the time or focus to keep it going for the time being. I am focusing on getting back into my scrapbooking, which I love so much. I still want to stamp and do my cards, but it will not be my main focus right now.

I tidy to find my mojo too! I have really lost the desire to create, and I never thought I would because I love it so much. I named my blog My Purple Palace Therapy for a reason, and I need that therapy now more than ever. So I have been in my room, rearranging and reorganizing (I just let my su demoship go so now I can un-do my current/retired restrictions). I feel my mojo coming back to me already. It works wonders just to dig in and see what all you have.

Hi Krista! Welcome to the group! You are pretty close to me if you are in Peoria. I try to get there at least once or twice a month. Am going Saturday as a matter of fact. Hopefully I can get to Tremont on this trip as well! I can't wait to see that store!

Hi Tina. I am about halfway between Peoria and Galesburg, a small town named Williamsfield. We are actually out in the country a couple miles from town. I do most of my errands in Peoria. I love Scrapadoodle! I grew up in Washburn, with is northeast of Peoria.

We used to play Williamsfield in Football and Softball! I am in Lewistown actually. A very small farming community. It amazes me what a small world it really is!

Hi Krista!
I'm very close to Peoria. We're in Bloomington. Welcome! I'm so glad that your mojo is coming back. I hate when that just seems to dry up. It makes me feel like a failure sometimes! I try to hit Scrapadoodle once every couple of months. We like to make a run to Peoria that often. There are a few good restaurants (I'm sure there's many good ones, but these we like) every so often.
Definitely try to get to Tremont. It's well worth the trip!
Jeanette: Hooray for getting your stamping stuff unpacked! What a job that is to move. I hope you really enjoy your new home.

Nice to meet you Loretia. Yes I've been to Bloomington quite a few times, though still not all that familiar with it.

It's nice to meet you, too. I've lived in Bloomington from the time I was a baby and this darn town has grown so much there are streets that I have no clue where they are! In fact, the home my husband and I live in is built in an area that I vividly remember being corn and bean fields when I was a kid! By the way, I just glanced at your blog and I have to tell you that I love your purple floor! That's awesome - especially since purple is my favorite color! I'm sorry about the loss of your Dad. It's tough to lose someone we love so much.
Hang tough, girl and keeping enjoying your wonderful family!

Thank you so much! It has been a rough few months, as I was always a "Daddy's Girl!"

I love my purple floor. When we first did the room, my husband let me order purple carpet for it. Way back in the beginning of my blog, I posted pics. The room still is not done but hopefully will be soon. I will be showing it off when it's all done

Thanks! I work fulltime too for a local farm cooperative. Peddler's Den carries Stampscapes--where you purchase the stamps to "build" the scene for your cards. Just google them--they have a website.

I'm not sure how I got here?!? LOL! Actually my DH has a new job here so here we are. It's a nice quiet little town; suits him very well. I'm eager to explore any of the bigger towns near here - I think we might head to Evansville IN later today to see what's there. I like to shop. Tee Hee! And DH likes to eat out!

Do you know of any stamping/scrapping stores in our area of the state?

Jeanette, you should love Evansville if you like to shop! It's a neat town. I haven't been there for a couple years, so I don't know if there's stamp stores or not. I would think so.
Linda, I'm sorry you're battling a migraine. That just stinks. I know they can be just awful. I hate that for you!
Have a great day ladies!

Aaahhhhhh!!!!!

I have FINALLY about kicked my migraine!!! What a relief!!!

I've got a lot to do today. When I am out of commission, my hubby does NOTHING ! ! ! SOOOOOooooo, I've got a lot of dishes in the sink, newspapers and junk mail everywhere, SOOOooo, I've got a lot to catch up on!!! He knows better than to do my laundry, so I have that, too. I don't plan on going anywhere today, so just play catch-up around here!!!

I missed out on having lunch with my friend, Cheryl. Hopefully, she will just come and visit tomorrow. Boy,...where has the week gone???

Everyone have a GREAT weekend!!!

Jeanette,
Glad you have found your new home!!! Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with your neck of the woods!!! Hopefully Evansville, IN will be good for shopping, maybe a LSS??? You're gonna have to do some searches on the internet and hopefully you'll find something!!! I KNOW you need your fix for your card making!!! I would probably be in withdrawal!!! However, I've gotten where I do a lot of my shopping on-line!!!

Have you gotten unpacked yet??? Do you have a "Stamping room" in your new house??? Is your new house smaller or larger than your old house?

Well, I had better read some more mail, and get busy around here!!!

You're pretty close to Mt Vermon, Which is a good size town. You might be able to find something there in the way of LSS or Craft store.

It's been a few years since I've been down that way.

Mt. Vermon is right near 64 and 57.

Linda, I'm so glad that you got rid of that migraine. You must have the patience of a saint! If my husband left me a mess or didn't help around the house, I think I'd have to string him up by his toe nails!!!! Gratefully, his Mama raised him right!
You raised a question to Jeanette that I'm curious about and that is where do you do your stamping? We know Krista has her "Purple Palace", where does everybody else stamp/scrapbook/make cards? Anyone want to share?

Unfortunately, right now my stamping room has taken over my Dining Room. It started out as a very small hobby, but has blossomed into a huge addiction!!! It really hasn't bothered me until recently. We have a partially finished basement that I used to be a nicely organized family room and sewing/ craft room and play room for the Grandkids. When we started remodeling the kitchen last year, the basement became a "junk-room" for an easy place to throw things!!! Unfortunately, my Hubby DOESN'T help me with anything in the house except making messes, so with my back, nothing has been done. I guess I will have to slowly rearrange and purge things in the basement, and move my stamping room down there.

I have taken over one end of our bedroom. I don't have alot of space but just built the jetmax storage desk (my version) Actually I used 4 cubes from Hobby Lobby and a desk top from Menards. Added some shelves above and a big bookcase beside and now I have my own little corner of the world! Someday when my daughter moves out (once she finishes college!) I will have her entire room. I will try to post some pictures this weekend. I haven't tried that yet! Loretia - great idea! I love Krista's purple floor!

This is fun! My stamping area tends to be mobile! I use an old ping pong table in our basement (the kids are married and have their own homes - so I took it over) connected to an old kitchen table as my "origin of operation"! Also down here I have stamps organized (which is a relative term) in some of those bins with drawers from Wal-Mart, same for punches, ribbon, etc. I use those storage crates from Lowe's with hanging folders for my paper. Those all sit on 2 tables my DH bought from State Farm (yes, they do sell their outdated office furniture - which actually is like new). Lovely shoe boxes (ha) hold all my inks! I need to figure out how to upload pictures so you all can see this "homemade" stamping area. It's pretty comical, but it works. Since we have 2 miniature schnauzers, one of whom is only 3 months old, and I love to look out our kitchen windows at our flower beds, I often design a card in the basement and then haul my stuff up to the kitchen table to stamp. Then I haul it back down, when I'm done as I hate clutter on the kitchen table!
We do have an office upstairs that I keep thinking I'll take over as a craft room, but frankly it just seems like too darn much work!!!!!
So, I guess I should call myself a hodge podge organizer when it comes to stamping! Oh
well, works for me and I'm grateful to have all this wonderful stamp stuff to play and create with!
I tell you, I see some pictures of people's craft rooms here on SCS and drool! Maybe someday! I am still thinking about adding some purple down here Krista!
Stay cool this weekend, everybody!

Good Morning Ladies!

Linda, I'm so so glad to hear your migraine is gone now! Woo Hoo! (But shame on your DH for not helping you out when you're so sick!)

Our trip to Evansville was fun. DH and Brock (our 26 year old autistic son who lives with us) went with me this time - so no "fun" shopping. LOL! Actually, we needed to look for some furniture pieces..... and we found a GREAT deal on a reclining sofa and matching recliner, which we purchased.

I do plan to go back to Evansville alone some day - and explore the craft/women's options for shopping.

Nancy, we've been to Mt. Vernon; and I've been there a few times by myself prior to moving here. There is no longer a LSS there.

I loved hearing about your crafting/stamping spaces. Lots of ideas to borrow!

We actually moved into a house that is less than half the size of our previous home. We have no choice in where we live (the house comes with the job) so we take what we get. I left a 5 bedroom house - my Hideout (stamping/crafting room) was HUGE and had a very large walk-in closet on it, too..... so I had lots of space to hoard supplies in. Tee Hee! Here we have a very very small 3 bedroom house - with no extra room to make my own. So we are taking one bay of the garage (no heat or AC there) and making a "room" of sorts by lining it with shelving units. This is my new Cubbyhole (stamping/crafting room) where I will store my supplies and create when the temperatures allow. When it's too hot or too cold, I'll go out and pull out the supplies I need/want and bring them into the house to create there. Not ideal by any means, but it is the best we can do here. Oh, and my Cubbyhole is half the size of my Hideout, soooooooooooo I'm having to purge and also curtail any hoarding of supplies. LOL! I think I'm going to have a big Stamping/Scrapping yard sale this fall.

I forgot to mention, we have the shelves in place now, did that on Wednesday - and now I'm in the process of unpacking man man boxes of toys.

Good Saturday Morning to you all,
One thing with this stamping habit is, we will make do with whatever we have!!! My area is far from ideal, but I make it work!!! We all dream of having more in all aspects of our lives. Sometimes simplicity is best.

I have been on an unending buying binge, when it comes to stamping and card making. I am losing weight, so haven't bought any clothes. However, I have decided that I have more supplies than I need. Sometimes it bogs me down (too much to choose from)!!! So I am going to see how long I can NOT buy anything!!! I know it will be hard to break my bad habits, so I'm giving myself baby steps. Vacation is the end of September, so no buying until at least then!!! I DON'T need anything,...it's just WANT, WANT, WANT ! ! !

I thought if I'd write that on here, I might stick to this goal. Wish me luck!!!
