Hi, ladies! Well, this is my last day at work before I head to CA. I had hoped to stamp a few things that I could color, but so far that has not gotten done!! Well, maybe I should just pack my scrapbook magazines and SU catalogs to pass the time. Once I get there, I won't lack for something to do. I'll need to hand out plenty of Grandma kisses to Miss Ansley. It's hard to believe she'll be one month old on the 4th!

Hope everyone has started their work on Valentine cards. I have, but still need to do more! I LOVE looking at all the creative work that people post on the gallery...I need to get into posting my cards, but am usually too busy...Oh well, someday...

Good morning, ladies!

Pat, I know you're going to have a wonderful time on your trip! My great-grandma always told me that "babies grow on hugs and kisses". Assuming that's true, Miss Ansley will probably double in size while you're visiting - lol! Enjoy, enjoy!

Hi Loretia, yes... it's been a sleepless night. I'm going to be dragging today, for sure! And I have to go to a seminar at the hospital this morning, so I will need to work very hard at staying awake.

How are you today?

I'm sorry you had a sleepless night, Jeanette. That stinks! I think I'm still waking up - lol! We're early risers around here and are typically up by 4:00; but, I swear, some days I don't think I wake up until around 9:00 - lol! My trouble is that I sleep too hard! Years ago a friends of mine shared a quote with me..."When you lay down to go to sleep, give your troubles to God. He's going to be up all night anyway.". It took some practice, but once I got pretty good at "letting" God watch over things while I slept, I'm out like a light!

I tell you what, though, I think that's a good kind of problem to have! I'm off today so it's housecleaning, grocery shopping and hopefully some crocheting for me. I'm working on baby blankets for the twins!

I hope your seminar is interesting and informative enough to help you stay awake and that tonight brings a better night's sleep for you!

I usually sleep very soundly, too... and don't require much sleep. Five hours is usually okay. But last night I had less than 3. EEK!

Oh, and today's seminar topic........ Death, Dying, and Grief. Oh my! I am in trouble, aren't I??? LOL!

HI EVERYONE ! ! !

I thought I'd check in with everyone!!!
Sounds like Pat is in California with a Granddaughter. Is this a new one, or the one that is about 6 months old???

Lorietta, twins??? Was there a new addition to your family??? I am knitting a blankie for my Grandson. I knitted several scarves for Grandchildren for Christmas.

I haven't stamped. I'm still waiting on my craft room. It will probably be spring. We have been doing some remodeling, and haven't gotten to that room yet. My back has gotten worse, so I am limited on what I can do. I see one Dr on Wednesday, so I will see what she has to say. It is no fun getting old!!! I haven't even been in any LSS in ages!!!

Well, I hope all of you are well!!! Happy Valentines Day!!!

Good morning, all!

Linda, it is nice to "see" you! The twins that I have talked about are not here yet! They're due June 4, but the Dr. is pretty certain that they'll arrive sometime in May. Our DD is about as big as half a minute and her pregnancy is considered "high risk" just because it's twins and she's so petite. Bedrest is approaching quickly, I believe!

Isn't it fun knitting (or in my case crocheting) for all these beautiful grandbabies and/or our own kids?! Good for you for knitting those scarves! Those are the kinds of treasures we keep forever. The homemade ones!

Good luck at the Dr. this week. I'm keeping you close in thought and prayer!

Jeanette, did you survive your seminar wide awake?

TinaMarie, how are you doing?

Pat, I'm quite sure you're having a ball with the new Miss Ansley!

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. It seems like a good day for a big pot of soup to me!

Hi Loretia! Thanks, yes, I did survive the seminar awake! It was very interesting. The day quickly turned stressful after that, though... and I didn't get to bed until very late that night. Thankfully everything turned out okay, but it is a heartsickening feeling when one's young adult daughter calls from where she lives (500+ miles away) in the midst of danger/trauma. I felt so inadequate to help and scared for her, too.

Thank you, Loretia. She is fine, other than the nightmares she is having.

A bit of history, my niece (her cousin) was one of the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting, so school shootings are very traumatic for us. My own DD is now in her 3rd year of teaching. There was a huge fight in her school on Thursday, and one of the students had posted on facebook that he was bringing a gun to school (some of his peers knew this; the teachers/administrators did not). When the students saw him reaching for his bag during the fight, someone yelled "Gun!" and things escalated quickly from there. The school immediately went into lockdown; police arrived, etc. etc. My DD called after her students were secured. I was in the seminar and didn't get her call, so she called my DH. She was pretty distraught. Long story short, the police found no gun. But it was still a huge fight, with lots of blood. Five students were arrested.

I am so thankful that it was not worse.

Hello, Illinois stampers from sunny SAN DIEGO!! Yes, the patio door is open and it is a beautiful sunny Sunday!! Little Miss Ansley is so precious--and I believe her little cheeks have filled out more since we arrived. Last night my DH told me I was "hoarding" her---lol!! Well, she didn't sleep so well last night, so my DIL said I need to let her sleep on her own without holding her...Oh, I want to get sSOOO many baby hugs and kisses in before I leave. We'll be heading out on Tuesday...My son is planning to use their Christmas money for a laptop so they can Skype with us. I'll need to start planning when to come out again!!

While she's sleeping, I worked on my Stampin Up order--remember it's Saleabration time when you can pick free items for every $50 you spend...oooooohhh, been saving some paper orders back, so I'll finish the order before I leave.

Have a great Sunday everyone!! (glad to hear your daughter is okay, Jeanette)

Pat, so good to see your post! I'm glad you're able to spend this time with your family, especially wee little Miss Ansley! I think you SHOULD hoard her while you can.

Thank you!

Good morning, all!

Pat, it sounds like you're having a ball! Grandma's are entitled to HOARD!! The skype setup will be wonderful for you & your family. I'll bet it's Grandma and Grandpa's kisses that are helping Miss Ansley's cheeks fill out!!!

Jeanette, how horribly traumatic for your daughter. That must have been such a helpless, terrifying sitatuion for her. I'm so sorry to hear about your niece. I don't understand violence. I never have and probably never will. I'm sure it will take some time for your daughter along with the other faculty and students to "settle" back into some sense of normalcy.

As a side note...one of our son-in-law's is a deputy sheriff here in our county. Right now, he's on assignment as the in-school resource officer at a local middle/senior high school. Some of the situations that he recounts are almost unfathomable. He, of course, never uses names, but it's pretty frightening the amount of anger/violence some of these young people (and old people, too) exhibit.

Of course, that is counterbalanced by the goodness and love we see so many people exhibit. I guess that's what I choose to focus on, but sometimes the "ugly" is right there in your face. I'm keeping all our kiddos and grandkiddos close in prayer.

Well, I'm off to go get a little "inky" before I have to head for work.

I hope eveyone has a good day!

Thank you, Loretia! Your words mean a lot to me... as do your prayers for the schools, students and teachers in today's world. Kudos to your SIL! I am so thankful there are police officers willing to risk their lives to keep all of us safe!

Good evening Ladies!!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather! I have been busy cleaning and organizing. Spent all day Saturday on my house - I just love when I can move around the furniture. Eveerything looks so fresh!
Linda - I will be praying for you as you continue to struggle with your back. Health issues are no fun! I see the dr again next week. Will find out then if and when the next surgery will be. I have been seriously considering getting a second opinion. It has been 5 weeks since surgery and I still have one incision that is completel open. Will see what next week brings and go from there.
Well, I am off to take pictures of my good friends daughter for Senior night basketball. Have a wonderful evening!
Pat - enjoy your visit with litt Miss Ansely! I would hoard her too!

Good morning, all! It sure feels like spring out there!!!!!

TinaMarie, I've been wondering how you're doing. I sure wouldn't hesitate to seek a 2nd opinion (not that you asked what I thought - lol)! I worked in a surgical practice for years and one of the things that impressed me the most about those gentlemen was that when they recommended surgery for someone, the 2nd thing out of their mouths would be..."If you'd like to get a 2nd opinion, please feel free to do so.".

I feel badly that you and Linda are still struggling with health issues. You're both in my prayers!

This morning brings my friends over to stamp/chat. I always enjoy that!

I hope everyone does something that they enjoy today.

Good Morning Illinois Stamping Friends!

TinaMarie, I am sorry you're still not healed. It DOES seem like it is taking a long time, you must be concerned. I know I would be. I wish you well as you decide what your next step is.

Loretia, I love seeing your posts. You are always so uplifting. Thank you!

Good evening Ladies! Loretia - It's always good to hear what others think. I did call my primary doc today and now have an appointment with him on Thursday. Also seeing a new GYN next week. Time to take charge once again! LOL

Had a crazy day at work today and I am just beat! It's going to be an early night tonight. But may have to sneak back to my craft area to see what I can get in to! Have a great night Ladies!!!

Jeanette, what kind words - thank you. You made my day!!!!!

Pat, if you're back in IL already - welcome home! I'm sure it was so hard to leave!!

Good for you TinaMarie! You really are in charge! I try to always remember that I "hire" the doctors who work for me just like I would a plumber/painter/mechanic, whatever. I owe them courtesy and respect, just like I do everyone else; but I am in charge. Go girl!!!!!

Last night must have been the night for tired. I'm embarrassed to admit, our dinner consisted of leftover pizza from Sat. night eat-out and I added a salad for some nutrition - lol! I was in bed by 8:00! Oh, well! DH and I just celebrated the 33rd anniversary of our 1st date. Good thing he's an easy-going guy - lol!

Where does the time go, ladies?! I hope each of you takes a minute or 30 to do something nice for yourselves today. YOU DESERVE IT!

Pat, if you're back in IL already - welcome home! I'm sure it was so hard to leave!!

Good Morning ladies
Sorry I have been MIA but life has been crazy but I should have not let you in it.
Twins are doing great. They are 5 months already. I had surgery on my heel to have a bone spur removed. Which is doing great. Pain I use to have is practically nil. There is nothing worst then having feet that hurt 24/7. And for now that is gone. Going back to work next week. Will know for sure how pain will be Dr. said it will hurt at first but will go away. I love being home got lots of crafting done. But it doesn't get the bills paid. lol My oldest daughter is pregnant. She is due in June. Hubby is having tough time with COPD. Breathing is not doing well. But has good days on sometimes but most he just sits in his chair and rest. But all in all life is going good. I will have to get caught up. Have a great day. Patti

Yes, girls, I'm B-A-C-K-K-K...in Illinois that is!! And our weather is beautiful for the 1st of February. Let's all hope that the sleet and ice in Feb last year stays away!!

Patti, my coworker's husband has foot issues, and he's a Physician's Assistant in an ER--on his feet all the time. He had surgery, recuperated, and still has pain. When I returned I asked how he was doing. He even bought some expensive shoes and they haven't helped much either. His Dr. thinks arthritis is causing the pain.

I think the older I get, I learn to appreciate good health much more!!

Well, CA was great and after being out there nearly a week it feels weird to be back at work!! My plan tonight is to NOT unpack and NOT wash clothes. DH is gone and...

I'M GETTIN' INKY!!!

Have you started on your Valentine's? I've got the little g'daughters done, but need to work on some more for some friends and family.

Have a great day!!

Welcome back, Patti! It's good to hear from you. I'm so glad the pain you had is gone since your surgery. Prayers that is stays that way! I'm sorry to hear your husband is having such health difficulties. Prayers for him, too. Too bad staying home and crafting won't pay the bills - lol!

Pat, I hope you are enjoying your evening of getting "inky"! I admire you for leaving your bags NOT unpacked. That would be a herculean effort for me - lol! My Valentine card's are done - now I just need to get them addressed and in the mail.

I'm glad to hear all these beautiful grandbabies are doing well!

I stopped at Peoria's LSS today and they had on display a metal pendant you can make using a cuttlebug or big shot and embossing folders. I tell you, they were so neat! They truly looked like designer pieces of jewelry. I signed up for the class they're having later in Feb. I'm excited to learn how to do that! Possible idea for some Christmas gifts next year!

Sleep tight, everyone!

Welcome back Pat Great you had a good trip. We are going yo CA in November to go on a 14 day cruise with LeRoy's biological parents, brother and sister. We just met them 2 years ago and his parents is taking the entire family on the cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary. So looking forward to that. Just hope Leroy is doing well. But I have faith the Lord will be there for us.

Loreita that class sounds like so neat. Hope you share some pics of your projects.

Not much going on weather beautiful today went to the park with the 2 oldest grand kids had a great time came hoe for Popsicle. Had to bribe Faith to leave park. Out walking trying to get my foot ready for work next week.

Made 3 cards this evening. Have tons to do. Thought I was caught up and the lady who sells some of my cards in her flower shop called and told me she only had 6 out of the 25 I took over for Valentine's Day left. So next few days are dedicated to card making.

I also was elected to be a member of the Just a Scrappin' DT. So need to get a project done for that. \

Hope you all had time to craft and relax .

Patti

Wow! It sounds like everyone had a busy day! Loretia - I was in Peoria tonight too! I didn't stop at the LSS, but did spend over my limit at Michaels! I just can't turn down paper for a quarter! Anyway, hoping to spend time on Valentine cards tomorrow night. Haven't even started!
Have a great night everyone and an even better tomorrow!

Hope all of you have had a busy day. Spent the day working on cards. Made about 10 rosettes and cut out cats, monkeys, pandas, poodles, and love bugs from the Create a Critter cartridge. Now relaxing with Hubby. Took a walk for about a mile. Trying to get heel ready to go back to work next week.

You all have a great evening.

A quick good morning to all of you here in Illinois stamping land!

Jeanette, I haven't seen you post in a couple of days and you're the most regular of all of us. I hope everything is OK!

Patti and TinaMarie, you're really cooking away on cards. I haven't made a single card all week!!!!! Pitiful and I think I'm going through withdrawal. Work is just getting in my way - lol!

Well, off to start cooking. DD #1 is having a baby shower tomorrow for DD #2 (she's having the twins). Grammy is "helping" with the shower, so I better get my fanny in gear!

I hope everyone has a day that involves at least one smile! You know what they say: "Smile. It makes everyone wonder what you've been up to."!

Hi, everyone!! Yes, Loretia work DOES get in the way!! I've been at work all day but my stack of papers is getting smaller for today!

I worked a little on some cards last night. I'm not sure how some of you are, but I like to start on a card, let it sit a day or two, and then maybe come back and "foo-foo" it a bit more. I think it makes me look at the card and decide if it needs additional embellies.

May try to make some more cards tonight. I've had a few friends that I need to send get well and sympathy cards to. And sometimes I just like to send a card "because." I go past a lady's house who is a customer of the company I work for. Her DH passed away a couple years ago, and they were such a sweet couple. I'm going to send her a "hello" card!

Supper tonight is super-easy. Our Hispanic church parishioners help with a tamale fundraiser for our church. The ladies get together, make tamales, and the $ goes toward expenses for the church. I bought several dozen--they're great to pull out of the freezer when I don't feel like cooking.

Hope everyone takes a moment to stamp this weekend. Sometimes that may be the only "me" time I get!

Thank goodness I don't go back to work til Wed. Will have a day to craft and rest. But I love having my grandbabies whenever I can.

Didn't get much done today worked on the mini album that I am making.

Glad to hear from you all.

Good morning Ladies!!! How is everyone? Jeanette - is everything ok? We are missing you! Patti - it sounds like you are havig a wonderful time with the grandbabies!
We celebrated my FIL 69th birthday yesterday. It is always so nice to get together with family and enjoy good food and eve better company! After the party I went to a friends house to work on a project we found on Pentrist. If it turns out I will be soooo excited! We are using recycled glass jars. Putting a word or phrase on them with hot glue and then painting the jar. The picture online looked so neat. Hope ours turn out half as nice! They will be fun jars to put a little something in to either use in my craft area or even give as gifts.
