Hmmm...I think you're being very reasonable about wake up time.
Time may be reasonable but B isn't happy when he doesn't get up. I woke him one day last week. 20 min. Later I wake him again. 10 minutes later I wake him again. When I saw he wasn't going to get up, I got a spray bottle and sprayed him. He got up, begrudgingly.
Sorry...that sounds kinda like something Jerry might've said.
It's all good. When I was telling him about I started to remember last week and that she needed an exam (dentist wasn't in that day) before they could do the sealants to be sure all was OK.

If he's playin' so late at night & can't get up when he's supposed to, he's got to pay the piper. It could've been a bucket of water instead of getting sprayed, huh? He would've been swimming.

That is how my FIL was woken up on occasion as a kid. I would hate to ruin a perfectly good mattress.
I saw online where you can take a crib and turn it into a bench. I still want to keep the crib we have but I wouldnt mind hitting a thrift store to make one. I already rearranged our furniture in my mind for something I haven't even done yet.
I think she's thriving. As of Sunday she's up to 8 lbs 4 oz. That was calculated by the baby displacement method...Chris weighed himself & then weighed himself holding Violet. Last week she started giving us real smiles! She also has been sleeping between 5-6 hours most nights for the past week or so. She nurses, drinks breast milk from a bottle, & has
also had some formula here & there. She has been turning herself over since
about 3 weeks old & does a pretty good job holding her head up. She likes being held.
On a side note, Kelly mentioned to me earlier tonight that she thinks Vi might have GERD. In the past couple days she has been doing some spitting up (& it's sometimes a little bit yellow in color) & sometimes seems hard to console if she's been crying. Understandable for a new Mom to jump to that kind of conclusion. There could be a couple of contributing factors including a growth spurt. There are some options of different positions for feeding her & afterwards to try, to see if they help. She isn't due for her next check up until July 30th. I suggested that she can always call the peds' office for advice or to try & get
in for a check up sooner.
She sounds so strong. The smiles must melt your heart. Good advice for her to ask her pediatrician. They know the answers and can put her mind at ease.

That sounds like a fun project. Pinterest, by any chance? I've seen some very clever uses & re-dos of things to make for little ones. I think a trip to a
thrift store is great idea!

Surprisingly, it wasn't Pinterest although I do look there daily. Sometimes a little more thoroughly, other times a quick skim. Today was a skim.

Strong...yes! Melted heart...yes!
I think even giving it a couple more days trying some of the ideas we found online is a good idea, and absolutely checking the pediatrician's office. They
are used to that, & it's part of their job. When my kids were little the peds
office had a nurse line too & that WAS their job. Not to take the place of seeing or talking to a dr but they've been asked the same questions so many times that they know alot & can help ease parents' minds before a dr has a chance to call back.
As I think about it, I bet the project is on Pinterest but I never would have thought to look for it. I'd pin it but I don't think I can from the iPad. I need to get on my laptop more.
The kids and I saw the Katy Perry movie tonight. I was surprised by how much they all wanted to see it. I was also surprised that I was familiar with so many of her songs. I can know songs but I don't pay attention to who the artist is, although some you know by the voice.
We might be babysitting for Violet sometime over the weekend. I think it would probably be Saturday night. Kelly asked me about it when we were
at their house on Sunday.
The Sunday before last we actually had the 3 of them here for a sleepover that night. We were having them over for a late celebration of Kel's 25th
birthday & before they came over we & quite a few other suburbs had a
crazy fierce storm blow thru, taking down trees & power lines. When they
got here that afternoon their power was already out, so they brought the
dogs over too. Way too hot to leave them in the un-air conditioned house.
We all had a nice visit & they left here about 7-something to go home. As
soon as they got there I got a call from Kel asking if they could come back
& spend the night cuz the power was still out & the reports were that it could be 3 or 4 days before it was all back. So they packed up some stuff, including some of their perishables, the baby, & the dogs & headed back here. Fortunately for them, their power was back on by late the next morning. Lots of other people weren't so lucky...including Kim's parents.
They, Kim's 2 brothers & their 3 dogs all ended up spending 2 or 3 nights at
Jeff & Kim's house.

Fun times, the sleepover part. Crazy weather all around lately.
My FIL ended up having some of his property burned in CO. Oddly the fire itself didn't do it. They set up a fire line on his property and when they did the burn to put out the hot spots that is when it burned.

Sounds fun! Kelly probably knows more of the songs that I used to listen to when the kids were younger, than I do of what they listen to.
Well I'm a dork. I knew those buttons at the bottom of each post were there but I couldn't figure out why I was logged into them all. After FB I have no clue what that is for.

Oh man! That's too bad!
I was just talking to my oldest brother yesterday morning . Some of the fires were not really far from where he is there. A couple days ago when he
woke up in the morning the air was gray. It was from all of the smoke in the
hot, humid air.
Friends of my sister & BIL just moved back to their home in CO from AU.
Turns out they were seriously threatened with having to evacuate, & their niece actually did have to evacuate her home & go to stay with them. I need an update from my sister to make sure they & their homes are all OK.

That has to be so scary. Some had time to prepare to evacuate and others not so much. I hope they still have their homes.
I actually prefer their station to mine because the music is more energetic, although my station gives me the memories.
I really only listen to music now when I'm in the car & I have it on my station.
We used to have more music going on here when the kids were living here.
Alot of the current music, I may recognize a song here & there but alot of it, the lyrics are hard for me to follow because of an artist's singing style or some other reasons.

I've never been good with lyrics and throw what I think it is. My kids love laughing at me and correcting me.
I literally have 300+ mosquito bites on my legs from going to the beach to see turtles nesting.
{{{{HUGS}}}}
You might have Kelly beaten on one of her worst mosquito times!!! She's super sensitive to them & she is a target appetizer, main course, & dessert for them. I was hoping after she had Violet she'd have the mosquito immunity that I seemed to get after I had Jeff. She hasn't been out at mosquito time much so far this year, so she's only had about 2 or 3 bites & that's from 2 of them that got into their house a couple weeks ago.

I agree! Hard to even imagine how terribly scary it would be. I also read a story online about a young female firefighter (just 18, I think) who was out
fighting one of the wildfires while her own home was burning to the ground.
Today one of my girls told me they are going to learn how to play some songs on the guitar. They are then going to play in a park and see if they get any money. They will also get a part time job to earn money. Sounds like they plan to be in the park a lot if they can only have a part-time job.

That's pretty cute! I wish them good luck, & good fortune!
