We're an hour away from a Starbucks also......but then we're an hour away from just about anything! LOL A couple small restaurants, the only fast food is a Subway in a gas station and that's still 20 mins away. A tiny grocery store 15 mins away. But I wouldn't trade where I live!!!!! Just gotta shop smarter and enjoy treats when we go into Pueblo for our bigger shopping!!!

That was one thing I really liked about the Salt Lake City area. I've been there several times during different months of the year. I can't remember if it was in June or August, but one time the high temperatures were around 100, but it didn't bother me at all because the humidity was only like 20%. When we have temps like that here in Virginia, it's usually coupled with at least 70% humidity so it feels like you're living in a sauna.

If it's anything like the Ben Franklin store closest to me, it's generally not worth the time nor effort to go there.

I have one Michael's store about 15 minutes east and another Michael's about 20 minutes north. The two closest A C Moore stores are both about 90 minutes away - one south and one southeast.

OH SQUEAL SQUEAL SQUEAL - I just looked on the Hobby Lobby website for the closest store, and they're going to open up one about 90 minutes east of here and on the way to my parents'! Right now the closest ones are about 2 hours away, in areas I'm not too familiar with.

I am so jealous. I can go to Michaels and Joanns if I want to drive the hour each way, but no Hobby Lobby anywhere close by.

It's been years since I've in Arizona, I couldn't tell you anything really about Ben Franklin. Back then, I wasn't interested in card making.

If they have them, its not where I live. I haven't seen a Ben Franklin anywhere in like 15 years. I didn't know they were still open.

I have several Michaels, Joanne's, and Archiver's by me but my favorite place to go is a LSS in our area. We haven't had a Ben Franklin in my area in years! I've only been to Hobby Lobby once and that was in Arkansas and to me it was a lot like Joanne's or Michaels.

If any of it gets on me, I'll whoop you.

I'm sad - Wendy's is making their fries thinner.

Now why would Wendy's change their fries? That's what Carl's Jr. did too. McD's is still my fave on fries....XL for that matter.

OK it's been one of those days and the kids apparently ONLY need me when I'm trying to balance my check book or talk on the phone. Would you believe that me getting a ticket this morning for rolling thru a stop sign was NOT the most annoying thing that has happened?

Hi all! Loved the talk about driving; I've driven across some of the boring parts of the country when I moved from Oregon to Indiana, then back to Oregon (different route), then back to Indy, then to California. I think southern Wyoming and Nebraska might be some of the dullest driving stretches. Central California along I-5 is really dull, too!

Just finished up a simple fall card with my 7yr old daughter. She stayed up a little later than normal because they don't have school tomorrow, if only I didn't have to go to work I'd stay home all day & work on cards & tote bag orders.

Hubby & the kids will stay home tomorrow, they don't have to get out & drive in the snow.

I made one card tonight and have a few more half-formed ideas floating around that hopefully will become fully formed while I am sleeping. I keep thinking it is Friday, tomorrow starts a 4 day weekend for us and they always mess me up.

Connie, how much snow do y'all have?

It seems early to be having snow, but it's not completely unheard of to see it here in my area this time of year. My freshman year of college we had an inch or two of snow on Veteran's Day. Come to think of it, that same winter we woke up the day after Easter with several inches on the ground, covering the forsythia bushes and daffodils. And in between those snows we had 18" fall one weekend, followed by another 10" the next Tuesday. (I remember that Tuesday... I had a 12:15 class, and I made my way down the treacherous snow-covered Stairs From Hell from the dining hall to where my class was only to learn that classes were cancelled after 12:00. I was not amused.)

I made a card tonight but I'm not thrilled with it. It's OK, but it doesn't really have any "wow factor". I'll try something else tomorrow.

I also started another card so tomorrow's plan is to get it finished too.

Oh!! I was really looking at the love one and thought I might try it out. Show some projects when you can please!

I went to Michael's last night to use my 50% off coupon and got the 2011 MME calendar!!! Yippee!! Got one last year and LOVE it. I jazzed it up with some glitter and stamping, so it looks even better!!

So sorry to hear about your friend's passing. The Stamps of Life just came out with a nice sympathy set, so their gallery may have some nice samples.

Woohoo, day off tomorrow and lots to do! Taking a trip to Michael's first thing to get ready for Journal Your Christmas with Shimelle, then working on an altered project for my cousin's upcoming baby. THAT should be interesting. I'll post a pic when I'm done. If it works well, maybe I'll sell them on my blog! My aunt saw something similar in a store for $275!!!!! Wowza! Anyway, here's hoping it goes well.

I checked and my package of cards arrived in TX ok. Yea!!

So sorry Lee! (hugs) I don't make many sympathy cards either. I always feel like I'm going to get it wrong. I'm much more comfortable with little crazy monster cards.

Andrea I did a little comparison on ink and paper with the letterpress if you wanna peek Understand Blue: LOVE-ly Letterpress

The best is definitely on real live letterpress paper - I got mine from Crane, but some local places might have it depending on where you live.

Good morning, everyone!

Lee, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I agree with you that sympathy cards aren't much fun to make.

Andrea, you sound like you have some fun crafting plans.

Connie, enjoy your snow!

My kids are off to school so I have the next 7.5 hours all to myself. Younger DS wasn't feeling too well this morning so I hope he isn't catching the stomach bug that's been going around. (He said his stomach felt "like a blender". eeek)

I'm hoping to get some cards made while the boys are at school.

WOW - have I been missing out on stuff - just found this thread, got caught up on all the news - my news - I'm still under the weather, throat is still scratchy, insurance is going to cover all the issues with the carpet cleaner overflowing the toilet, we are going to have no rain today, but maybe tonight, and I'm lovin' all the dinner suggestions.

Lee, hugs and prayers for you and your friend - not easy times. On a bit lighter note - great hats and fingerless gloves in some of the Esty shops - I went shopping and dreamin'.

I would love Texas and big sky - lived in Arizona when I was a kid and my dad in the service - I miss it all the time.

Ohhhh, thanks Lydia!! Did you happen to try that Paper Glide stuff on the paper which is supposed to help the impression be better? I think my next SU order needs to include that plate - it is SO beautiful!!!
