Very hot weekend here. It is a definite stay inside with the ac weekend unless you are on the water somewhere. DH has felt bad all weekend. He is very congested in his head so he doesn't feel like going anywhere. I spent yesterday cleaning out cupboards and throwing old boxed food stuff out. I threw out 3 huge garbage bags full! I organized everything in canisters and labeled them. I have used this system for years and love it!

I hope to play in my craftroom today. I need to clean it up just a bit too.

Isn't that the truth. They're tamed again - for now anyway, lol.

My cousin Andrew goes back to San Diego tomorrow for one more month before he goes to his school for the Marines, so we're going to see him in a little bit. We're going to see Shelley, his mom too, since we'll be at her house, lol. Then dh and Joey are going to see MIL later this afternoon.

I think I finally figured out how I am going to re-organize my scraproom. I now need to decide on a paint color. Being I just got the appliances I am going to have to change the scraproom slowly. It will give me time to think and sketch out a plan anyway. Hopefully, by the end of the year I will have it the way I want it.

We had fun, then dh got a reminder that he was missing a meeting, or something, so we had to leave. Should've left him at home, lol.

Have fun coming up with a new plan, that's always exciting. Are you getting different furniture, or just moving things around?

It was beyond me then, it's beyond me now. I'm hopeless. And what's worse is that I do have a small fabric collection.....but I'm not sure why. LOL

We've already made the switch with our dishwasher. The next thing will either be a dual microwave/oven or a fridge. The microwave went out on July 4. The regular oven still works, but it's a dual unit, so if one goes out ....

We just read The Help. I was really looking forward to the dinner. We were having a very southern dinner in honor of the book .... with chocolate pie.

I have, as well. And I'm thrilled that I'm able to play around with sewing now. I'm glad, too, that Jaydin wants to sew, as well.

I wish I had learned to sew when I was younger. I played with it, but I didn't really learn to sew. I'm enjoying what I can do now.

The girls are gone. Jaydin is profusely sad, but she and I are watching Mulan. I think she's just attention-deprived and exhausted.

I read "The Help" way back when it first came out, before it was the "it" book, good book

We took some friends to the football game yesterday, and our kids were left to watch their children, 18 month old twins, a 5 year old boy and a 7 year old girl. they had a great time, and non of them were up before 9 this morning, safe to say they all tired themselves out.

Funny how once the entertainment leaves one gets that way. Maybe the movie will help.

I went downstairs to my craft room tonight. Dh and Joey were tired of watching the Olympics, so I went downstairs so they could watch a movie. I got 16 cards made though, 4 sets of 4. They're pretty simple cards, but hey, they're done, lol. I made multiples because I need to build my card stash back up. I made 2 sets of them in case Shelley needs more thank-you cards (she's the one who has breast cancer). If she doesn't need them, I can donate them to the fundraiser that some friends/family is organizing to try to help her pay for all of her medical expenses due to her cancer diagnosis. (She has to pay 20%, and it's quickly accumulating, even though she hasn't even started chemo or radiation). Anyway, I'm happy that I got something accomplished. Oh, and I did a load of laundry too. Can't forget that. lol

That's too bad that you couldn't make it. I didn't know if there were any teenagers you could borrow for a couple hours or not.
