20 kids making cotton candy....what a brave woman you are! Of course they could all jump in the pool when they are finished.

What about a volcano birthday cake..it could be cone shaped or using any cake pan with a hole in the middle and you could have lava come out of it. You do notice that we are all coming up with messy ideas for you.

What do ya'll think of that?
What a great idea and also how nice of you to do that for the kids.

I've been up for the last couple of hours...can't sleep. Can't understand why my brain has to be thinking in the middle of the night and sleeping during the day. Think I will take a nap now.

Oh no, I hate it when that happens. Hope you're able to get some sleep soon.

Nice day to stay inside...did get all the ink pads put into color families rather than SU families. I still have a lot of the retired ink pads so it only made sense...and goodness knows I only do things that make sense.

One of my friends made a copy of all her embossing folders by running a sheet of paper the size of the folder through them. That way she looks at her samples rather than leafing through all her folders when she needs to use a folder. By making it the size ofthe folder she can see right away how it would look on her card. I'm going to work on that this week only I think I will also number each sample and the folder so I can find the folder easier. Saw that on someone's blog but she used a tag to emboss her sample and I want the full size. Why does it take work to make something easier?

Did everyone see the create ink site--kinda sorta like a color wheel not only for SU colors but also other companies and copic also. If you haven't seen it:

My Create Ink - SU Color Lab

Some people are so clever!

I think it's going to be a great party. I'm excited because I found all kinds of 'science' stuff at the Dollar Tree. Those will be great for the goody bags.

We were going to go to a state park for our family fun day, but it's going to be 104, so I think we'll scrap those plans.

I thought about that - even putting dry ice in the middle for the steam/smoke. I don't really want to make it myself if I can help it, though, and I'm not sure that I can find a cake that works at a store. I did think about 'brain' cupcakes. Another thing I found was the periodic table done out of cupcakes. Not sure that fits with a 6 year old, though.

Lots of errands today. We got a lot of the stuff we need for next Wednesday. The rest will have to be gotten from the store. My mom bought us a new grill today. It's really cool and will be great to use with all of our friends next week.

I got all the things to use for the crafts with the kids at horse camp. Unfortunately, I had to get 8 1/2 x 11 frames because the 12x12 were $11 Yikes. No thank you. I found a bunch of horse/cowboy/cowgirl stickers and embellishments for them to use.

I got our red shirts for the cruise. We'll put the cruise logo (I designed for the group) on the front, and for my family's shirts, I'll embroider our names on the chest pocket area.

Sounds like you had fun organizing! I'm thinking about doing the same to my paper too, taking it out of the SU color families and putting it into easier to use color families. Hadn't thought about the ink pads, that makes a lot of sense. Let us know how you like them that way as you use them. The full size embossing folder sampler sounds like a great idea, too!!

Thanks for posting this link. I put it into my favorites. I'm thankful that someone is clever enough to know how to set up something like this. I used to use something like that, when I used to make cards more. And way back when I was actually using my stamps, lol. I need to get back to them, poor neglected things....lol.

Those sound like great ideas. Maybe you could do a 6 year old version of the periodic table, with things that they'd know instead.

Have fun with the new grill for the holiday.

Glad you were able to find things that worked, $11 each is way too much. 8 1/2 x 11 will work just fine.

The shirts sound like they will be fun to have on the cruise! How many of them do you have to embroider with the logo?

Or print up periodic tables to use as place mats...just me adding my 2cents

definitely...today and tomorrow...DD birthday is on Sat so I do have to do a cake and such one for Fri and one for Sun...but I get to stay home and bake etc for the next two days, so I am happy about that...

We have guest for Dinner Fri., one whose Birthday is Fri., so we are doing a cake then...one DD is out of town at a church event THur-Sat late, my DS #1 has a scout camp out from noon Fri- sat at 4pm., so we wont have the family birthday until Sunday. Sat we will probably go shopping for one of her presents. She has the day off and wants a new Swim suit...don't dare shop for that on my own, so we will do it together and probably get lunch.

Getting together with friends and going to the beach for a little while this afternoon. It's supposed to be over 100 degrees today, so it will be good to get in the water. We'll spend the rest of the day inside where it's cooler.

Last night Joey had a birthday party to attend. All the kids had fun, and we parents had a nice time visiting, too.

I got a lot done today but never got to my craft space until after 11pm
So I only got the pillow boxes made..tomorrow should be better though..if not next week when all the craziness is over...I got all my stacks of sorting sorted all the shredding caught up and all the kids things filed....its a great feeling.. also the laundry is all caught up... I might get the card bands made in the morning so I can mail the packages in the afternoon..I cant wait to get them out the door...then I can work on mailing my summer Birthday cards...
I need to get a birthday present figured out for my mom in Aug.
trying to save a ton of money for DH birthday present in Aug...if I cant afford it then it will be his Christmas present...but I really want to get it for him this year. Really hard on an already tight budget...But I keep telling myself, "I can do it"
