I need to wrap some presents. DD is coming over to spend our mother daughter Christmas together tomorrow. We are going to a quaint restaurant. You can check it out if you click the link Cotillion Southern Cafe They make the best food and desserts ever! Even have fried green tomatoes!!!

DS had gifts sent to my hse for DD and SIL so I have to wrap his too since we won't see DD until after Christmas. They are going to Hawaii with SIL parents to spend Christmas. I wish I could go...LOL!!!

I totally get that. Fortunately, I don't have to mail many. I may be wrapping a ton on the 22nd, but I'm ok with that. I don't have many to give out before then.

Yeah, after the holidays, I'd be glad to. I have no idea what to charge ... what do you think is fair?? I would guess that I have about $10 in supplies in it. What type of fabric/them would you like to use? And what is his name?

I'm going to update my blog tonight or tomorrow (probably tomorrow!) with the car caddy I just made my niece's stepson. It has a figure-8 track on one side and car pockets on the other. I'm very pleased with how it came out, too. I wouldn't use the same fabric - hard to see the embroidery - but the general idea turned out better than I expected.

I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but my dad's biological mother passed away, and her funeral is tomorrow. She didn't raise him, and we only met her a few years ago, along with the rest of her family. It's an odd situation, but we'll be there for it. I don't know how I feel about it, because I don't really know how to feel about her. My dad's parents (who were actually his aunt and uncle) were the absolute perfect grandparents. They were wonderful, and they both have passed away already.

It's always easier to run errands when you already have to get out, isn't it?

Oh, I'm sorry, Molly. Relationships like that can be so complicated. It sounds like he was raised by people who loved him and deserved him. Perhaps, you should be thankful that his bio mom allowed him to be raised in the best way for him. Just a thought on how to feel/think about her.

Awesomeness!!!! Congrats! I hope it gets there in time.

There are several online stores you can get those from - Amazon, Cut @ Home, Silhouette America. But ... I'm not sure about the shipping.

I used my Cameo today, and I reminded just how much I love it. I made a gift card holder, and it came out sooooo cute.

Had a Christmas party at the stables tonight. They have a new horse up there... he's only 16 months old. And he's SO cute!!!

Tomorrow is family fun day - I think Jonah is planning for us to decorate all day. Yippee!! That works for me because I don't have days to do that this month.

Silhouette America doesn't ship to Canada, and only certain amazon places do as well. Where was that vinyl place you had mentioned before??

I was actually pretty good, there were only 9 teens that showed up, and they were all well behaved, I still have at least have the cookie left, looks like I will be doing more decorating.

We were telling the kids we would wait for boxing day sales, before we bought a new one, They gave us the "are you serious" look because they are watching a 19 inch right now

Shell, your crayon caddy is cute, I was thinking of making something like that for the twins when they get a little older.

Have fun with your family decorating day today.

I will be babysitting the twins today, that is always fun, too bad they have gluten allergies, or I could give them some of these sugar cookies.

The place I got my Cameo? That was Expressions Vinyl, but I'm not sure they have anything other than the cutter.

Here's the link to the actual cutter. I didn't see the kit on there, though.

I think you should charge me at least $25, especially if you're putting stuff in it. Any fabric is fine, whatever you have on hand is ok. I can send you extra $ to ship it to them too, if that would be ok with you. His name is Tobin, or you could use his initials (TGR - Tobin George Roth). Can't wait to see the figure 8 track too, that sounds cute!

Oh, I'm sorry, Molly. Relationships like that can be so complicated. It sounds like he was raised by people who loved him and deserved him. Perhaps, you should be thankful that his bio mom allowed him to be raised in the best way for him. Just a thought on how to feel/think about her.
That is totally true. I don't have hard feelings for her, she didn't have many options as a single mom with a 2 yo and a 6 week old (my dad) in 1948. And she left him knowing he'd end up with the people who became my grandparents, so I'm very thankful to her for them. But it's sorta hard to find a place for her, just because my grandparents were soooo awesome, I guess is one of my issues. But I did make a place, I was just feeling bad that it wasn't bigger.

Sounds like a fun party!

Hope you had a great family fun day.

Sounds like you had a great party! "only" nine teens...sounds like plenty of teens all together in one place, lol.

LOL I was going to tell you wait for Super Bowl sales, but you don't have the Super Bowl. Darn. Maybe someone will still have a fabulous sale before Christmas.

The funeral went ok today. It was a small family gathering, which really ended up perfect. My dad met his older brother today for the first time. He's two years older than my dad. They ended up dressing pretty much the same today, navy blue shirts, jeans, and New Balance shoes, lol. They both had college jackets on too (University of Michigan and Western Michigan University). That was kind of freaky, lol. We had some good discussions about family, and Karle (my dad's brother) and his two boys want to come to the family reunion this year. I need to get on the phone with my other cousins and make sure we have a reunion, lol. So even though it was not for a fun reason, we actually ended up having a really good time together. I posted a couple pics on FB, if you want to see them. Ken is my dad, and his brother is Karle (German spelling, that part of the family is German). The pic of the two boys are Karle's sons.

The restaurant is so cute--makes me want to put on my white gloves, big hat, and high-heeled shoes and hop in my 1957 chevy for lunch. Hope you had a great time.
Smart DS to have mom wrap presents for him--you didn't raise any dummies.

Saw the pictures--your Dad is pretty cool to be so accepting at his age. It would be difficult for a single mother today--I can't image the difficulties of being a single mom in the 40's. You were lucky to have such loving grandparents.

I have lots to work on tomorrow. I sure hope I can find the discipline to get up and get moving. I am very tired tonight. I didn't sleep much last night. I stayed up late (4 AM or so...) reading (Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers) and had to get up and move this morning. We're home all day tomorrow, though, so surely, I can get lots done.

My mom bought my yearly Santa today. She gets me one each year to put with my stocking. This year, the one she found that she liked was at JoAnn's. It is as tall as Jaydin and started at $250. She got it on sale and with a senior discount for $80. Great deal, I think ... and I love him!! I usually don't see it until Christmas, but since she was with me, I saw him, approved of him, and put him in the truck.
can't wait to see a pic of Jaydin with Santa. First time I read this I thought it said a Santa to put in my stocking. I was trying to imagine how large your stocking would be. Guess you were just a really, really good girl this year.

Kathy- I am so sorry that you are feeling down in the dumps. (I was going to say feeling dumpy but that did not sound right. ).The last couple months I was feeling really blah with no energy to do all the things I wanted to do. At night I would plan what I wanted to do the next day but by morning I didn't have any energy. It was too difficult to read and reply to my friends here on splitcoast. Things are getting better a little at a time--I hope and pray things will get better for you also.

Wow ... that seems expensive.

What kinds of things does he like? Tractors, cars, trucks, super heroes????

Tobin ... that's so cute. Which would you prefer - his name or initials? I, personally, like the name better, but I want to do what you'd like.

The car one is on my blog. I put it up last night. I would like it a lot better on different fabric, but I wanted to cater to what the kid likes.

Don't feel bad. It's hard not to, but in that situation, you can't really compare her to the other grandparents. She's something totally different. I'm glad that his life ended up so good. With that situation, it could have been so unfortunate.
