okay they have to put the floor back into place to put the fixtures in to adjust the plumbing is what I think. because, they cant hook it up if the room still needs the new floor in. unless you are not getting a new floor under where the tub goes?

That looks like glittered clear embossing powder applied on the embossed parts. And I would be fairly certain that is just the d'vine swirl embossing folder.

I have cupcake die cuts... and I have never tried to texture the frosting...
and I am pretty sure I have that folder.

No, the new floor only goes to the tub. Where the tub was, the floor was solid, so they're only replacing to that point.

I'm kinda surprised you guys have galvanized pipes though... most that stuff now a days is pvc ( plastic )

our first house that we rent out was built in 1926 and it had cast iron pipes but, we replaced them with pvc.

I have the PTI cupcake, and I've done the d'vine swirl as the "frosting". I have never glittered it though.

There are two or three still galvanized. It was built in '53 so a lot of stuff is old. The remodel just before we bought it 25 years ago got rid of most of the galvanized, but it still had one or two.

So, if there are holes in the bathroom floor, this means critters can get in the house. Right???

When we did the big remodel on our old master bath, the floor was out for a couple of days. Kept waking up with an OUTSIDE cat in bed with us. Always wondered what else got in. Eek!

I doubt it. We don't have much wildlife around here and even if we did, the grills covering the entrance to the under house are closed. Spiders etc might try, but they sprayed stuff under it while they had it open... so hopefully not enough to give us too much trouble.

that doesnt sound too bad. the dust will migrate though, it always does. 'specially if they have to do dry wall work on the walls after.

Considering that we have wind 300 days a year and that with it comes a fine layer of sand over EVERYTHING, dust is the least of my worries. LOL. I just want a toilet.

Off to see if we can have the second room for another night.

Dry wall dust is the worst!

Our kitchen is the only room in this house that needs to be updated. We need a new floor, countertops and I want to paint the cabinets. Hopefully, not too much dust involved. We will sand and paint the cupboards in the garage.

we have only gutted and re-done half this house... so still has, living room kitchen ( eat in ) and spare bedroom to do... and it will be a mess...

but, still saving up for that one. hubs wants to get a small tractor this year... so that puts the kitchen farther back on the scale of stuff to do.

I think I will add a kitchen island. Need a bit more counter space. Will also have to buy a dishwasher and fridge to match the stove I bought before Christmas.

What is good for kitchen floors for a bad back? Don't think I can stand up on tile long enough to cook a Sunday dinner.

Cork? I've heard of people putting in cork floors - but I think you have to varnish them or something for a kitchen.

dunno... but, I have some mats from costco that are supposedly what they put into restaurants. ( have one upstairs too) for standing on. the current floor is carp linoleum... but, will become tile eventually. probably put hardwood in the eating section and the livingroom. ( going to open all these three rooms together and vault the ceiling.

I would like to continue the hardwood from the rest of the house into the kitchen, then tile the back hall and laundry. I'm so messy in the kitchen, I'm afraid I'd spill something awful on the wood.

yep, plus the dogs. ( do they eat in those rooms?) so I am thinking let the tile come down the hallway to the kitchen then put in the wood again past that.

our kitchen now is very dysfunctional ( way not enough cupboards ) so, want to take the L part out and put in an island and then do a whole wall of cupboards on the north side of the house. right now there is a huge window ( that does not open ) on two sides of the eating part and so this would eliminate one of them but, I still have lots of china in the attic among other things

Oh, it's a Christian college (private) and they are bringing in some guy who is some executive for Disney. Our school is joining with a smaller one in Orlando (sort of like a merge). The exec though is big in the non profit world- I'll just get his bio- I don't think it sounds anywhere near what he is making it sound like: Johnson University - Disney Executive to Speak at Commencement

He is making sound like my alma mater is going to "hell in a handbasket" the way he is reacting to this.
