Well, I had an apt with my Favorite Migraine Doc yesterday. Guess what he said. Go ahead. Guess.....Guess.... Just GUESS

He said I Do NOT have Vestibular Migraines Because of my bending over problem. I have NOT had migraines AT ALL!!!!

Big Sigh of relief. Sigh, sigh, sigh. I do feel much better though-mentally that is!

He said that I was diagnosis correctly with Vestibular Ocular Reflex. The eye problem. I need to go to a ENT Specialist. Inner Ear Specialist apt is June 17th. So have to wait.

Doc said NO Meds will Help at this point. So the meds the other doc put me on was a waist of time and effort on my behalf of trying to fight to make my body to get use to it and Totally unnecessary!Ugh!

So, I should have just gone to MY neurology to began with.

I am seriously thinking of going to Patient Advocate and requesting a new Primary Doctor through the Military. He messed up on the referral to this new doc, in turn, snowballed were she would not listen to all my symptoms, to which to a wrong diagnosis. Which is my Primary Doc second mistake in the past year. Which is WHY I am still having this problem.

I am going to try to make my dad a bday card today. It was a toss up between dye my hair or make a card. No just kidding. Got to put some humor in the post today.

Very cold and cloudy. Hubby out on errand and kids still sleeping. It is a good sign that I am not sleeping the day away. Not tired.

Not tired is a good thing!!!

Have a Great Saturday

Leslie, yay I think?! Hope you can figure out the doc thing. My mom is going through the same thing with a different disorder. She originally went in with a leg problem, which hasn't yet been diagnosed, but in the meantime, she's had a colinoscopy (sp), ct-scan, and now an mri next week to check on other things that may be an issue.

On a side note, prayer request for my mom. The test next week is to check on a spot on her pancreas that has increased since the scan 4 yrs ago. Hopefully it won't be cancer.

I had a grad party, most people around here have grad parties. However, my friend's dd's friend is an only child with not many relatives. They usually go on a cruise every year (since she was 2yo). This year as her grad "present" she was allowed to bring a friend on the spring break cruise. My friend had to pay the airfare and spending money, but the other girl's parents paid for the cruise (or something like that). I also had a cousin who had a choice of money or a grad party and she chose the money whereas her brother chose the party. So there are all kinds of options out there.

eta: Chuckle...one of my aunt's was thinking of a college grad party for her son who graduated from college 4 years ago (or is it 5 now) since his sister got a party when she graduated from college. A little to late if you ask me...

Now turning to drivers' training...what has everyone here done with kids of driving age? Did you pay for the training? Did the kid pay for training? Kid pay for part of the training? Ds1 is at that age and I might put him in training this summer. He'll be 16 on Halloween.

Pay for the driver's ed, but make him pay some or all of the insurance. If he has to pay for it, he is less likely to do something that will cause it to go up & make him have to pay more.
I had friends whose parents made them pay a nickel a km or something like that every time they took the family car (wrote down the odometer before they pulled out of the driveway & after they pulled back in I think), because they felt that it would prevent them from doing stupid joyriding or doing unneccesary driving and also to get them to realize that when they had their own car, that even though they own the car, driving costs money in terms of gas etc. They did not have to pay the per km thing if they were driving at parental request - like picking up a sib somewhere or running to the grocery store for mom etc.

Lilbro2 is racing a half-ironman today. LOVE that I can track him online. He is doing really well so far and is now on the section where he does the best.

I do wish they would show the finish line on the live feed though - I wanna see him cross it - and I know it won't be long!

Hmph. They showed the finish line live for about 10 min. while the top women's pros came in. Then they cut off the feed. Knowing lilbros' times, I imagine he is probably going to cross the finish line in the next 10-15 min. at most. website!

Usually they have a live-feed camera focused on the finish line. No commentary or anything, but you at least hear the announcer & can see the finish line.

Praying for your mom Laurie.

For driving. My dd needed $20 for school for Sept course of drivers ed. I paid it.

I plan on paying for insurance, as she does not have a job. She turns 16 in November.

As she gets older and job/money situations change, then we will talk about payment options for insurance/gas and her on car thing too!

We pay for driver's ed and insurance. They know that any bad driving choices will result in the removal of their license. So far, six drivers and it's worked fine.

The reason I pay for it is because I shamelessly use them for errand runners. I figure if I want them to have the license for my benefit, I need to be willing to pay for it.

But that said, by about 15 or 16 they have automatically (without our direction) paid for their own toiletries, clothing, gifts, etc. They also pay for their own education after high school.

I should say that excessive use of the car implies that they will fill it up again. Occasional personal use does not.

$20, WOW, it's not offered in school here like it was when I was in school (of course this is a different district as well). Classes around here are $375 ($240 for 30 hrs of classroom and $145 for 6 hrs of on the road training).

Right. And I'd be too lazy to keep track of mileage and charge for it.

Leslie, did you get your card made?

I'm about to get off my duff and go tidy up my stamping desk. It's a disaster. I'll have a few cards to make soon. Mother's Day, a couple bdays, a couple grad cards...can't put them off too much longer.

Good to know. We keep getting postcards in the mail and they all seem to be about the same. Only difference is if they offer the behind the wheel training. Of the ones that does have it, some will even pick the kid up at the house.

No idea. They've had it before, and since they've done live feed & interviews when the top male & female pros crossed the line, the equipment and technology is clearly there already. And I would think the majority of people tuning in couldn't care about the pros, but a just trying to watch/track friend or family member. The athlete tracker update thing is always at least a half hour to an an hour behind the actual race (which I find mind boggling, given that each racer wears a chip thing that the sensors at the checkpoints read when they cross the checkpoint). I'm sure lilbro, given his usual race times and the times he has posted so far today, finished the race at least a half hour or more ago. I am just waiting for the page to update to find out his final standing.

I KNEW IT! If they had kept the feed on only another minute or two when they were doing the top women's pros, I'd have seen lilbro cross the finish line! I was bang on with the time range I figured he would finish in.

He came 53 out of 2600+ entries, and finished 4th in his division - so I think he did pretty good. Not that I'm prejudiced or anything.

Laurie I hope everything is ok with your mom.
