Can't believe I missed Shannah! I fell asleep in my chair almost two hours ago and have just woken up. Going to unplug all the Christmas stuff and just go crawl into bed.

HI Cyndee!
I'm ok with it not being cold for Christmas. (We get a lot of that this far South)

One of the things I missed when I lived in the south for about 10 yrs was the cold/snowy winters, but I prefer the cold to the heat of summer so...

Great! You sound good but I'm sure there's good days and bad still, especially while family life still goes on.

Dd1 just had her friend bday party on Sat and who'd have thought they'd be playing outside in near 50 degree weather in December?! I like the snow around Christmas but it can stay away until I get all my shopping done.

Exactly! I start to feel somewhat normal and then push myself and end up needing to take a day to rest. Also still frustrating that I'm still too sore to wear jeans.

How are things with you and the kiddos??

It's going. They go stir crazy in the apt and then try to burn it off here over a few days and it drives me crazy. But I guess it could be worse so I shouldn't complain.

I know its difficult, but its normal for their behavior to be a little off when they come back home with you. Hang in there!!! What are your plans for Christmas?

I need the stuffers too but also something else for the boys...that age is so hard. Hope to find something soon though. Taking the kids shopping tomorrow night to get something for their name exchanges with the cousins on my side. They're excited to pick something out every year.

My family holiday is at the oldest brother's. The kids are supposed to be with their dad but he says they should wake up Christmas morn in their own beds (meaning he may not take them to his family out of town until later during the holiday break), at least this is what the kids are telling me. He hasn't said a word to me about it. But if he wants to give them up for the holiday, who am I to refuse?! Guess I'll find out the night before.

How about you?

I had trouble with my older two kids because everything they want is so expensive!

Yep, 15yo is all video games...I think he has enough. The 12yo at least has some Legos, but they are the expensive ones.

Heck yeah if he wants to let them stay with you I say take it and revel in it! Even if its last minute! Maybe he is relying on them to be the go-between and giving you all the information, which I don't agree with, but have seen happen more than once!

We will join my whole family at my dad and stepmoms about an hour from here. We do it every yr unless we have MIL come in town.

Laurie- for the boys- I am not sure how much you spend- but what about a couple of small gift cards (like $5.00 each) to places like subway, mcd's, etc. or even Target/WM that way they can put it toward that. My dad saves up his quarters throughout the year so last year when I did a stocking I got everyone a $5 gift card (sis to mcd's for sweet tea, mom to the gas station for her fountain drink, aunt to Wendy's, bil-blech-to subway, nephew to chick fil a- my dad I just gave $5 worth of quarters to). Something fun and they can use whenever they need it.

Long day ahead for me. Work, and then a mandatory work meeting after which will probably run fairly late (it usually does).
Hopefully it finishes early enough for me to come home & get in a little crafting time before bed.
