morning again- went to the store to grab some soup- realized while I was there I had nothing to fix for dinner this week so had to think through that quickly. That 30 minute trip wore me out Obviously whatever this sinus junk (which is what I think it is) is is kicking my rear.

Home from church. So glad I ran my essential errands yesterday. When we came out from church it was starting to rain/freezing rain. Even in the 10 minutes it took for my Dad to run me home, the roads were starting to get slick. So glad I can stay home warm & cozy!

I wouldn't mine doing my own if I could do it like you do! Yours look so neat on the photos you have posted. My hand isn't as steady as it used to be.

Somebody told me a trick that I use a LOT, especially with dark colours. I do my nails at night. In the am when I shower, I wash my hair. The shampoo loosens all the polish that goes over the edge of the nail and on to the skin and you can just peel it off. I have heard that sticking your fingers in ice water after putting on the polish will set your polish and let you peel off the stuff on the skin as well, but I haven't tried it. I have also put scotch tape along the edges before applying polish, but that method is rather awkward and does waste a lot of tape.
The other thing I do is stick to OPI. They have a wide brush, so that 2-3 strokes is all you need to cover the whole nail. I get a much smoother application than when I use any other brand, so I've pretty much used OPI exclusively for probably a decade or so now (also helps keep down just how many bottles I have! Can you imagine if I bought all the colours I liked from every line out there?!? )
And I use a small table, so I can brace my fingers on the edge of the table as I paint on them - helps me keep them steady.

Question for e-reader owners...I'm looking for a case for my new one. Any suggestions/dislikes you have for when I am choosing one? There are so many out there (skin, cover, stand) it's hard to choose.

Do you have an Urgent Care nearby that you can hit today?

I have the Nook. Bought it when they first came out, which was a splurge for me. I had almost stopped reading, due to no more room for books.

My cover is a simple HOT PINK leather envelope. Love it.

Random thought~one thing I have learned with age is to not put off going to the doctor when I know I need to.

I think it depends on what you intend to do with the ereader. if you are going to use it mainly at home, and it isn't going to get bumped and banged around, I think go for whatever strikes your fancy.
If you are going to be taking the ereader around everywhere, in your purse, etc., then I recommend going with a bookstyle case similar to this: Kobo Touch Canvas Bookstyle Cover - Red: : Home | chapters.indigo.ca
With an envelop style case, when you take our your ereader to read, you then still have to put the case somewhere or hold it in your hand. With this, you don't even take the ereader out. I also think the bookstyle case gives better protection to the screen if it is going to be bumped and banged about.
I have that style case for my large one. Just waiting for them to come out with ANY type of case for my small one.

Thank you, this is what I'm interested in knowing. For now it will just be around here, maybe at work occasionally for breaktime. But in the future, it may be for while kids are at practices or other things. Something sturdier would probably be better since my purse isn't really that big either. I'm also thinking the full slide-in edges vs just the little elastic edge bands would be better. Just things I'm thinking of while looking around.

Just finished watching a movie, The Ides of March, and of course it was not a very good ending, one that leaves you wondering. *dislike*

Mine has the little elastic edge bands, and I am finding they are starting to get loose and lose some of their elasticity.

I hate that. If I am going to spend time "living a fantasy" (which I consider watching a movie to be), then I want a happy ending!

Have my lights up. Now I need to go chop veggies & start the soup before I move on to the rest of the decorating. Mostly just my tree, but I have a few other things.

Soup is mostly on. I haven't added the cabbage yet - no room in the pot. Going to have to let it simmer for an hour or so before I can add it. Calls for noodles too, but those don't go in until about 10-15 min. before serving, so there is lots of time for that yet.

Speak of cabbage - I had to buy a whole head. I won't use more than 1/4-1/2 (at the very most) in this recipe. How do you all use cabbage? Other than coleslaw, I've no idea what I can do with a half a head of cabbage.

I was just looking at the Target website and the store locator said there are "no stores within 100 miles" of my zip code?! I think there's a little blip in the system right now. hehe

Kelly do you eat corned beef? ( if so you can steam the cabbage on top of the roast about 30 minutes before its done ( toss in a chopped spud and some carrots too)

You know, I don't think I've ever done corned beef. What do I buy besides the carrots & spuds and how do I cook it?

well ( we make our own) but, its sold here in stores in a package with a sauce type thing around it. You dump it in a dutch oven and cover it with water. ( the ones I do take about 3 hours on simmer to be done, so at 2 1/2 hours I add in chopped veggies)
and park the cabbage on top. (if you cut the potatoes in quarters is good bigger than that may need more than 30 minutes on simmer to be done)

when I do it with home made stuff (same thing) only I toss in a handful of pickling spices ( from a jar mix) on top of the water.
