I will probably try something more like this: Pretty Nails / Christmas Nails though most likely only a base colour and a second colour on the tips. If I find a silvery colour I like, might add that.
But I have NO matte colours - all glitter and metallics, so I think I will have to be careful how I use/combine them if I don't want to look too clownish/outlandish. Though I might do polka dots or attempt a candy cane stripe.
I love this one Kelly!

Are you happy with the color selection? It is kind of hard to tell in the little online pics.

Surprised but pleased that upstairs party seems to be over. Has been more or less quiet for nearly a half hour now. If all their parties ended at 11 like this, I wouldn't mind too much!

Much as I like their polish, I think the OPI treatment stuff is HORRIBLE! My Mom and I both have trouble with our nails, and we were out shopping and found a sale one day, so we both bought a bottle. In less than two weeks, both of us had our nails in the worst shape they have EVER been in. I tossed that bottle in the garbage can.
I have much better luck with the sally hansen nail nutrition stuff. They keep changing it and changing the bottle, but I've found the varying formulas over the years have tended to work the same. The original one I had was some sea something or other, then it was something else (which is the bottle I have sitting at home, but it is getting low and I need to buy more) and now I think it might be this: Sally Hansen | Nail Nutrition Green Tea + Olive Growth Treatment
I strip my polish, then massage this in to the nails, then put on the new polish. I notice a visible difference in my nails within two weeks, and within a month they are usually looking pretty decent.

Is your oldest DD getting old enough that you could teach her how to do your nails for you?

Yeah, when I get down to just one, I will often just trim it and then start all over. Not worth trying to protect just the one.

I have always had good luck with the Sally Hansen nail products. I like the cuticle oil, and the nail hardener.

She's 10 and we've been talking about this. She's been practicing on the 7yo with tooth picks and will "be ready soon" to work on my nails since they are bigger.

Never tried either one. I've no idea how gelatin would help your nails. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

My one friend has tried it all and nothing works/ed for her. She's a legal secretary so always doing lots of typing, at least that what she blames it on.

Did I tell you all about the worker at Menards near me? Her nails are at least 2 inches long on every finger.

I've never used either of those.
What I have noticed when I use the nail nutrition is that it keeps them from looking stripped and dry after I've use polish remover on them. I also think my nails grow a little faster, and that they don't crack or split when they are growing. Before I tried this stuff, when I grew my nails they would always split. With this they seldom do - my nails a much more flexible and much less brittle than without it.

I find this to be true as well - it doesn't matter WHAT I do with my polish (even doing the tips & slightly underneath as the proper manicurist tutorials show), my polish chips within a day or two. I'm convinced it is the typing - or rather, the keyboards I am typing on. I have very little problem when it comes to my keyboard at home on the laptop, but work chips them every time. My polish last almost twice as long when I don't have to go in to work.
I also find washing dishes to be really hard on my polish too.

She's at the service desk and keys with a pen. I just can't even look at her when I go in there. Dd2 saw her once and you should have seen how big her eyes got when she saw them. She still can't believe nails can get that long.

There are a lot of things that I wonder how people with those really long nails manage to do. I couldn't stitch etc. with nails that long. Not to mention all the personal grooming things that come to mind.

Which means her nails are making her inefficient at her job. I cannot imagine someone "typing" with a pen being able to keep up typing speed wise with even an average typist.
