bbiab. Off to the pharmacy & the grocery for things like meds and soup & bread and stuff. So not looking forward to the cold, but I know the fresh air will be good for me. Haven't left the house in four days.

You know you are sick when you go to the pharmacy for meds, and you buy a bottle of water too so that the minute you walk out the door, you can rip open the package & down some pills.
Shopping trip successful. But boy, that took a lot of energy. Going to put away only the stuff that MUST go in the fridge/freezer, and then do the rest later.
Going to make myself some soup & toast and then go crawl back into bed for a while I think.

I actually feel ok, except that I am stuffy and I have a horrible, horrible cough (the reason I went for meds, as what I had in the house just wasn't working) that sounds atrocious. I just have no energy. I cheated at the grocery store today & bought canned soup instead of buying the stuff to make my own.
The different meds I bought today seem to be helping some. Definitely not suppressing the cough entirely, but at least it seems to be not quite as frequent or quite as intense.

Kelly, do you have a family member who knows the "magic" recipe for cough med?
(whiskey, lemon juice, water, in some perfect combo) My late FIL made it for me once, years ago. Best cough med I ever had.

afternoon- church and then ran some errands. Got a new comforter and am on the hunt for a set of sheets to match (well, I have a set of sheets to match but they aren't the color that I wanted) I don't know where else to check other than Kohls that won't be totally busting my budget so I guess I am stuck with the grey ones. I'll have to get turquoise for the pillows or something.

We had steel cut oatmeal, cooked all night in the crockpot, for breakfast. It was yummy.
DH adds butter to his (ick), I add brown sugar to mine.

Good morning. Kevin and I woke up sore and exhausted. The speculation on facebook is horrible. Kevin needs not to be reading it, but of course he is. Sigh.

So, what's everyone doing today?

Check in the kids sections. I've gotten turquoise sheets there that don't have any designs on them.

Ugh. I'm so tired of tired! One of the reasons I wanted to go to the pharmacy & get different meds today is because I think they were keeping me up. I took meds at about 4 am yesterday, and didn't fall back asleep until nearly 7. Took some late morning and couldn't nap in the afternoon. Took some at 11, didn't get to sleep until nearly 4 am this morning.
Been in bed now for an hour trying to get a nap and no luck. I'm not tossing & turning, just can't fall asleep. So annoying.

Well, after 5 hours in 40 degree weather, I'd HOPE they let him home at least to thaw. It was ridiculous. It took me hours to warm up again.

On another note..

Event : Holiday Punch Pack

Tell me why I would or wouldn't want this. I actually do want another trimmer tor cutting narrower strips.

Then again, we're probably looking at a lawsuit at best. I shouldn't spend any money.

Well, I did finally manage to get a couple of hours sleep.
My fever is back up though & my sinuses are clogged again. Have now taken the meds that keep me awake because they are the one thing that seems to fix these. I feel like a walking pharmacy!

I decided that I want a tv in my bedroom. For times like this, when I just want to be in bed & be able to still watch tv. The wall space I have for it, given the arrangement of my room, is 26 inches. So screen, case etc combined must be 26 inches or less. Given the fact that my living room tv is 19", and I only got that when I got a flat screen a few years ago when my little 13" vcr/tv combo died, I'm not really into the big tv thing. Aside from the fact that I think a huge tv looks ridiculous in a small apartment. Wally world is in the same mall as the pharmacy & grocery store, so I stuck my head in there today to check on the prices. They do not have a single tv in there under 32". That was the smallest they sold. I was totally floored. Does everybody have giant monster tvs this days?
I still have quite a few other stores to check out. I would really like just another small one, but I guess if worst comes to worst, I can put a bigger one in the living room and move the current one into the bedroom.

Oh, now this is funny/silly. Checking the website of one store - they have 44 different tvs available. But they have 52 different wall mounts.
Probably all the meds, but that struck me as funny.

I don't like giant TVs. Especially don't like them to be the first thing someone notices when they walk in my house.

I am obsessing over two things right now:

DILs Bday card (what to make)
DILs Bday gift (I am always out of ideas after Christmas)

Anyone have any suggestions?

For the card, what about something flowery in her favourite colour? Or pick something from your clearance rack haul & be inspired?

For the gift, does she collect something? A bead for her pandora, a new teacup for her collection etc.
Or a basket of small indulgences? All the things that really aren't that expensive to buy, but you know you always feel guilty when you do? Favourite chocolate bar, favourite candy, nice scented candle & really nice bubble bath or bath salts, maybe a little mini spritzer of favourite perfume (you can usually get them to make mini "testers" for you at Sepphora if there is one near you) etc.

DIL is a neat freak (I say that with utmost respect, I wish I was a neat freak!)
So, she doesn't collect or accumulate much of anything. "Indulgences" sounds promising!

Cyndee- will check out the kids section for sheets- didn't think of that!

Here's the comforter I got: Room Essentials® Chevron Comforter - White : Target

I have grey sheets that I found at Target but really wanted the turquoise (or even the goldish color). I found one online at Kohls that had the turq/teal in the picture but it wasn't a choice so I will be making a peek in there sometime tomorrow I am sure.

I need to go sheet shopping too. Didn't think of it when I was at wally world today though. I need a shade like perfect plum or paler, or I'd take a sage shadow colour, as it would be a good contrast.

Ok, I don't want to turn the thread here political at all, but I keep hearing this "fiscal cliff" term all over the news. What, exactly, it this?

I love this Tami. Chevrons are so "in", and the colors are perfect.

We need new pillows. We have to have really good ones, because of my neck problems. (we use memory foam ones) Hoping they will be at least 1/2 price during the January white sales.

Evening!

Checking in while all of the kids are occupied. My 2 nephews are here again for a sleepover. Their daycare is closed tomorrow and my sister and bil couldn't get the day off. So I have 5 kids -8, 7, 5.5, 3.5 and 3 years old. It's quite lively here. What's scary is besides my younger nephew and my dd, who are only 7 months apart, they could all be my kids.
