having a blog does not make me stamp anymore than having a gallery here does... and I post things not stamp related on mine. its been years since I scrapbooked but, when I did I was more picky about what I posted because of J and his age and a lot of his stuff involved his friends... so,
it evolved into a lot of card photos mainly... but, I stamp because I have to... when I cross stitched it frustrated me I wanted to make my own stuff, I had graph paper and ideas ( this was before I owned a computer) I bet there is awesome softwear now to design your own patterns... but, then I injured my wrist and I cant do that movement for any length of time. so, I think the next thing I purge will probably be some of that stitchy stuff. I have not bought new stuff in years...

There is. One of them is on my wish list...........

And, just like stamps, some of your stitchy stuff may be worth $$. Some patterns are common and will often go for .50 or 1.00, but there are some out of print (OOP) ones that people are always searching for and go for more $$ on the bay. So check the names of your patterns on the bay before you get rid of them.

I had to turn the thermostat back up to 67. It is pretty cold here after dark! Will go back down to 65 at bed time.

If I start a blog, it won't be because of stamping necessarily. It will just be whatever crafting I happen to be doing - stitching progress, crochet stuff, stamping stuff, maybe even some baking tossed in. With no set times for posting - posting just when I felt like it - might be three days in a row, then nothing for three weeks KWIM?
I had asked if a blog made anyone create more because I wondered if having the blog to post to made people want to craft because they wanted something to post. But the general consensus so far seems to be that people found that had the opposite effect - making it seem more like work.

Hey Cyn

yes Kelly, I think if you start a blog that is what it should be... and its more interesting to view other crafts or random thoughts too.
one random blog thought is I've often thought of taking the baloney stuff off the sides of mine. it's really annoying when you visit someones blog because, they made something cool and you seen it on pinterest and its not pinned properly and you have to hunt through three screens down of ads on the sides to get to the archives...

I think I am coming down with whatever cold bug lilsis had. She has been sick with it for over a week - really sick with it. I really do not want this............ Will take some cold fx and get a good night's sleep, and hope that knocks it.
It does explain why I didn't feel much like doing anything today though. I am supposed to be having lunch with lilbro tomorrow at a new restaurant I want to try, but if I am sick, I will cancel. Don't want him to get it, nor do I need to spread it at the restaurant.

If you look really close, I think the candle is a battery operated one.

Is there a lot of flu up there?

It was bad here before the holiday. I haven't heard much about it the last week or so. I feel like I am in seclusion, not being at work with TONS of germ sharing peeps around.

Stacy, your photos are so good. You could easily do your blog like hers. I love your pics of vintage finds and the way you arrange them.

There are at least two bugs going around, both of them strong, nasty & long lasting. My family seems to have been hit with both - some family members getting one, and some family members getting the other.
There is a very nasty gastro bug of some type going around. Some people have it for only 24-48 hours before they start to feel better, but some it lasts several days. Tends to make people sick at both ends iykwim?
There is also a nasty cold bug which seems to start in the chest, then move up into the throat & nasal passages. Anybody that I know that has had this has been sick for a full week and beyond. One family member that had this ended up with a throat infection.
If there is any cold type thing going around, I tend to catch it. That seems to be my weak point. So despite my handwashing & as much precautions as one can take when around people who have it, I won't be too shocked if I come down with it.

Evening

Went to take the trash and recycle bins back to the garage and there was about 1/2" of snow on the ground. It's a very fine snow so I didn't even notice it through the window.

Sh had the gastro thing a few weeks ago, luckily none of the kids got it. Our colds have started in the throat, then the stuffy nose. I still have some stuffiness. If I still have it tomorrow, I'll go to the doc to be sure it's not a sinus infection because it's lasting longer that I think it should. At least it didn't turn into bronchitis...I usually get that once a year.

Strange, my colds, etc. always start in my nose/head/throat. If I can get the right treatment fast enough, it doesn't go any further. If I don't treat it well soon enough, then it goes down into my chest and I get really sick.

We almost never get the gastro stuff around here.

Some demos are really ticked that SU is now putting stamps on the clearance rack. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. Kelly, what does your Demo/Mom think?

There is also retired 5/8" satin ribbon on the clearance rack now. It is hard for me not to buy tons of it. It was my favorite ribbon ever.

if they are retired... I dont understand why they would be upset... not like they can make a commission off it right? ( or is that the upset?)

well, I think if you love that ribbon, you would play with it... so I dont understand that whole mentality of I cannot own what is retired...

you love to stamp, your stamping more now then before right? so why not have beautiful things to create with that you actually love?? and its on sale... so maybe you cant show it at a party... but, you can use if for you.

I just thought about the clearance rack because "dasher" was on there last week, lol.

I think some demos think they will loose a bunch of sales when the retirement list comes out. People might wait to see if they can get stuff cheap on the clearance rack.

I just don't expect to make any money on stuff that is retiring.

He's 12. He complaining because I asked him to load the dishwasher again. He didn't finish loading it last night and I refused to do it for him, so he finished it this morning. Now he won't do it again because he "already did it once today" and then says ds1 doesn't have to unload it a second time. Well if he'd loaded it 3 hrs ago like he was supposed to, they'd be done washing and ds1 could have unloaded it again before bed. He thinks he has to do all the work...it only seems like he's doing more because he drags a simple chore from 5-10 minutes to taking 3-4 hrs by the time he's actually done with it. It's so frustrating.

ah interesting true story... J watched tv the other day ( during the long weekend while he was sick) and seen some show where bratty kids were shipped off to work at a farm with a strict family... he wanted to smack the kids that were shipped off...

(maybe find that show... ???)
