Mindy, the early Americans did to their new home what every civilization has done ever since there were people. They came in, they took over. It's what has happened since Adam and Eve got booted from the Garden.
The natives here did the same thing whenever they wanted something. It's just what people do. Heck, we're still doing it. We've moved into another country that we think needs to do things differently and have "taken over" until they agree with us.
The only difference is we plan to leave this time-- I assume.

I'm well aware of the history of how people have always taken over lands not originally theirs......I was merely mentioning a theory that DS2 and I discussed. However, just because something has always been done, doesn't make it right. Like I tell my male dogs when they lick themselves - just because you can, doesn't mean you should.......
I didn't mean to criticize. I think it's an apt analogy.
I just really am weary of bashing our forefathers for doing what mankind has always done as if they alone are guilty of it. I shouldn't have posted. I didn't think you were bashing, but I do see my post comes off that way. I think I just read this much too soon after reading some true bashing.

I'm sorry. I'll be more careful in the future.
No problem. We're all allowed to express our thoughts.
Afternoon! Spent the day at the elementary school. Between IEP meeting and helping the pto I was there ALL day. So glad to be home. Now if only my head would stop hurting.

I just went back to fb to look at something- It has the most recent updates button at the top above the top posts to click- I just wish I could get rid of the top posts thing.
That is the kidn of customer service I love. When I ran my business and made a mistake, I always gave the customer my wrong item and sent the right one free of charge
I dont have that filter system with the drop down box on fb anymore... because, I would usually sort it to read status, photos, pages, games... I dont have that and that is the only thing i miss so far. I have been able to ignore the side ads for a while now.
but, I do like the clean-ness of the google+

okay- thoughts? My dr appt was originally to be on Wednesday the 28th. We then started having meetings on Wednesdays until October- I rescheduled the appt for the 30th. We were told TODAY at our meeting that next week's is on Tuesday (due to another first grade meeting on Wednesday) which meant I could have kept my appt. My thought was, Oh well, just means I can do some other things on Wednesday. So, on my way home I got a phone call from the doctor- he won't be in the office on that Friday after all and they wanted to reschedule back to Wednesday (which I could now do). So, I rescheduled but now I don't know whether to still take Friday off or not? I have never canceled a day off with the new computer system and I already have a sub scheduled. I also had plans to take my car in to have an oil changed (and more than likely brakes and tires done which could be a longer process and haven't had time after school). I also hate to cancel the day off in case he orders an mri and I could get in that day.
(and on that note- no real back pain today but still numbness in the lower leg)
oh, and the lesson plan tweaking is done so I am going to work on cards I figure I can work on lesson plans for next week tomorrow and Friday afternoon (we have an inservice day on Friday)
