Tomorrow morning is massage time for me. It is a good thing. I'm sore and stiff from hauling pumpkins yesterday.

I have to figure out how to set my house up for SU classes. I have a large living/dining room, and my table is very long. However, it is antique pine so not perfectly flat. Won't work for the stamping station. Might have to stamp on kitchen counter, then move into DR for assembling projects. Plan to pre cut everything I can to save time.

Hey Imogene!

Nothing here just trying to relax from the crazy week of school & swim team stuff with my no focus, highly irritating child

I use to hold mine at my dining room table. Definitely pre-cut stuff it helps so much.

You got several good replies from the others last night about card classes. When I lived in GA before becoming an SU demo my demo use to have technique type classes. She would do 2-3 projects and at least one would have a cool technique. So when I signed up as a demo I did mine fairly similar. I use to have a huge file of techniques...not sure if I still have it or not.

Tami, I think you need to think of it more as "play time" then "for profit" at your church. Im thinking that it has no books to order from just very low key let me show you this one fun thing class type thing and play. maybe find out there is a gal in the ladies group that knows how to knit a pot holder or something else crafty and each of them could do some kind of show and tell make and take type thing that is no pressure. they can know you sell this but, don't offer to sell it to them offer to play with them.

kinda a Ill let you play with my toys and then its someone else turn to do it...
maybe at the end of meetings? or on long weekend trips? retreats have to have down time.

PSA: When you do toasted marshmallows in the oven, make sure you leave lots of room between them - they puff up to at least double their size......

thats what I thought too, I love stamp sets with cool sentiments... ( I have tons of images I love) but, the sentiment's is what makes me cave a lot of the time anymore. worked on my SU wish list today. gotta hit the A Muse site soon, I know they had some things I wanted when it was too soon to order but, I guess I forgot to order a book ( or I buried it in the closet)

For me this year, the SU! catty wasn't too bad. I had enough stuff on my list that I liked, but my list wasn't completely outrageous. Until the holiday mini came out.....

You know, I hope that I am as interesting and enthusiastic about life and as energetic as this lady when I'm old. 102-year-old gets a full ride scholarship to University of Michigan - Yahoo! Finance Canada

20 products with gigantic markups - Yahoo! Finance Canada

Greeting cards

Greeting cards are simple pieces of paper with a 200 percent markup. And that’s before factoring in so-called “Hallmark holidays.” On a budget? Make your own cards – or better yet, if you have school-aged children, have them design one. This will likely amount to a more sentimental gesture and will leave a lasting impression.
Clearly, these people have never visited the world that is stamping.......

2:06 a.m.

I am awake.... waiting for a pain pill to take effect. I twisted my knee in Atlanta last weekend and have been having issues with it all week... took more pain pills this week (only at bedtime) than I have all year.

I have stamp class in the morning for 4 ladies and a scrapbook class in the afternoon. Someone we all know needs to get up early to clear off the classroom table, and to get food put into 2 crock pots.

Once again am testing out more crockpot recipes. Thus far, I have 10 great recipes, but looking for a few more. Planning on purchasing a standing freezer and place it in my garage in later October when we finish clearing out the last boxes. It is so difficult to make good healthy meals for 1 person without eating the same thing over and over.

So I decided to find some great Crockpot meals, purchase a freezer and then prepare them over the weekends and store in my freezer for more choices. Because of this I have been taste testing crockpot recipes I have pinned on my pinterest.

I have (like I said) 10 good ones thus far. There have been a few duds (or things I was not crazy about). This weekend I am doing one chicken dish with ham/swiss cheese (can't think of the name), a southwestern beef stew, a chicken and veggie dish, and another beef dish. My final dish is a squash casserole. We shall see what makes my recipe file and what is a 1 time dish.

So far, I have great dishes like:
* Pulled Pork
* Pepperoncini Roast
* Rotel Cheesy Soup
* Chicken and Dumplings
* Mexican Tortilla Soup
* Chicken and Dressing (Want to try it with turkey too!)
* Lois's Breakfast Casserole
* Italian Creamy Chicken
* Micki's Pot Roast

So if you have a tried and true Crock Pot Recipe, please share it! With these I basically only have to come home from school and make a salad to go with it. Helps me alot to eat good filling foods, cuts the sodium levels I was getting from processed dinners, all of which help me with the diabetes (chemo induced) issue.

Another bonus is fewer dishes to wash during the week. Frankly a glass, some silverware, a dish and a microwavable storage container is all I have a day -- so handwashing instead of my dishwasher running daily. That gives me more time to do things I like to do (stamping, scrapbooking or reading!).

Okay going to move on... try to get sleepier --- and head back to bed soon.

We only have ladies retreats and they are only in the spring (and honestly, there's no down time-) I'll have to think about it on the other!

I am up, showered, dressed and moving! Came online to grab my 2 crockpot recipes for this morning - Chicken Corden Blue and Southwestern Beef Soup (looks like a stew to me).

Going to go put them in the crockpots. I have 2 crocks -- one was a wedding gift over 30 years ago and the other is a new oval one I bought last year. So I can do 2 at a time now... lol

Then I clean off the scrap table, throw out the trash into the big container outdoors and make some breakfast.... woohooo ---- with a little time to spare before my 9 am class.

See you later! Have a good day.

Arlene

Arlene, you sound pretty perky for someone who was up @ 2 am!

Had my shower, enjoying my second cup of coffee. Then off to massage and maybe start putting out the pumpkins.
