According to the schedule on the TLC website, Extreme Couponing will be on tonight at 9:00 and 9:30 (2 half hour episodes). It doesn't say whether that means 9:00 eastern/central/pacific, though.

Time for this chica to get cleaned up. We're going to eat supper first and then go to the funeral home for visitation.

Have any of you seen the ads for "Mob Wives" on TNT (I think that is the station)? Marie and I saw it the other day and her comment was - the Real Housewives of NJ didn't show enough of the mob wives, the need their own show. I burst out laughing. Where does she come up with this? (although I must admit, I can see her point)

Hey Kristi! Hope you get things done you need to do.

Miss I, I meant to say they sound like hoarders to me, TOO, but forgot! LOL! I mean, how many tubes of toothpaste can you use in a lifetime? Maybe they'll be the black market if times get tough.

Granny, that is a perfect description! My insides need a LOT of dusting!

Jo, I'm glad Marie at least makes you laugh even if she's being a ring-tailed toot! That was a funny comment.

Miss I, I only caught bits & pieces in my absence, but is this one of your mom's or dad's brothers who died? So sorry for you having to go through this, but glad your folks are home for it.

We went to my folks' house to water plants today & also ran by the quilt shop to look for some fabric I decided not to get. While there I did pick up some pieces Kathy had missed of a certain line of fabric she liked. She bought a few pieces of the line the other day but I found 2 she hadn't found. Went to Target to get Nat a dress she's been wanting. It's strapless. Yes. REally. BUT, she has to wear a shirt under it! They were out of her size, so we'll have to try a few more Targets. How hard is it to attach some wide straps to a dress? If I had enough fabric I would, but I think with the cut it needs a shirt under it anyway to be modest enough for a 12 1/2 year old. I was SO not cut like that at 12! Or 14 or 16. LOL! She's my niece's "mini me" in that area. Scary.

Poor B. has a toothache. I was thinking it might be sinuses, but it seems more tooth related. I have an x-ray & follow up with the urologist tomorrow, but if she has to go to the dentist, I'm not sure what I'll do. She really looks like she's miserable. Gonna go give her some pain meds & then feed them.

TTYL!

That sounds SO good. Wonder if we have any GF bread thawed out. I just recalled the time my nephew was about 5 or 6 & staying at my folks house for a week in the summer. I was still living at home (Must have been in college). I made an egg sandwich & he told his mom on the phone, "Mom, Aunt Lori made me an Egg McMuffin at home!" Neither his mom nor stepmom liked to cook. I think they still don't. My bro can cook, but mostly they at out as kids. Getting home made food was a big deal to them at Mammaw's house!

Haven't heard of it. Those types of shows are of no interest to me.

Like the "Sister Wives" show (the guy with 4 wives). If you don't want people judging you or checking into how you live, then DON'T GO ON TV.

RE: Extreme Couponing. Some of those products will probably go bad before they even have a chance to use them. Seriously; I know how long it would take ME to use up 30 deodorants!

RE: Funeral. My dad's brother John; he is/was just about 1.5 years older than my dad, but they weren't particularly close. For being brothers that close in age, they were pretty different.

Sorry that B. isn't feeling well. I hope it's not a tooth problem--yucky la la!

Good luck at the urologist tomorrow!

Mr. Wig's comment to my mom tonight after we got home from the funeral home: "I'm sure glad our kids don't look that scroungy when they go out in public."

I just had to laugh. Some (most) of my cousins did look pretty scroungy.

Another laugh. John's oldest son Jimmy was outside saying goodbye to another cousin when we pulled in, so we said hello to him in the parking lot. I later asked my folks how old he is, because he looks about 80.

When we got home, we pulled out this little red address book that my dad got in 1954 from his parents. Over the years my mom has tried to record everyone's birthdates, anniversaries, deaths, etc., in it. We found that John and his first wife were married in May 1956. Jimmy was born in October 1956.

Do the math.

That was one "premature" baby! LOL

None of us is ready to walk the red carpet, but at least some of us know how to clean up. LOL

It cracked me up that my dad said that---it's HIS side of the family.

Morning! Off to have pictures taken of my insides & then go pee in a cup & see the dr. Oh, what fun. Will see if they can break up stone #4 that's still in me.

Granny, I just thought of something. My nephew takes his little girl to breakfast almost every Saturday at a place called the Egg & I. I am SURE I inspired that. LOL! He's been taking her there since she was a tiny baby. He'd eat & she'd sleep, I'm sure. Now she eats & he takes pictures of her making silly faces & things. She'll be 2 in July. Such fun watching my "kids" being parents now.

Oh, my nephew also was the one who could eat enough for an entire baseball team at an early age. I recall one time taking him & my niece to McD's. He at his meal & finished my meal & probably his sister's meal. He was about 7! Fun memories.

Miss I, your parents comments crack me up. That's about what my MIL & my folks would say, too!

Granny, WOO-HOO on that savings! That's GREAT! I don't think we have any of those super saver stores here. Our local stores, HEB, have their own in house coupons that would probably be even better deals with a real coupon, but nothing like what I hear about some of the stores around the country. SO happy for you!

Some of the things I did not need right now but I will need them at some point so in the long run it saved $$.

Not sure if I told you I am coming home and transferring the money to savings so it is really "saved"....LOL

I am going to meet with the bariatric surgeon in a little while. To discuss options - if there are any. I'm not feeling too good about all this right now.

On a positive note, the sun is shining!!!! I don't remember the last time I saw the sun!!!!

That's a great idea...I should try it! But my savings are usually pretty meager. I just haven't developed the patience to clip coupons or even spend too much time comparing prices. I really need to get better at that.

WOO HOO! Good for you. That's a grocery store, right? We don't have them here. I always thought it was an office supply store.

Sounds like my brothers.

I'm baaaack.

The service was pretty traditional. My uncle's wife belongs to a Lutheran church so her pastor/priest conducted the service. He is a cute young guy but he embarrassed himself when he messed up the lyrics of "How Great Thou Art." He skipped the 3rd verse. So the 4th verse got sung twice.

The organist never missed a beat. LOL

The only thing I really do is clip coupons from the Sunday ads and watch for items that are on sale. When I'm here by myself, I don't have to buy a lot but if something I usually buy is on sale, I'll buy a couple extra. That way if the weather is bad, I don't have to worry about getting out to the store.

I am "trying" to learn Southern Savers. She has you save all the Sunday coupons and tells you when to combine them with store "rock bottom" sales along with store coupons to get the best deals.

Sometimes these sales run only every 6 weeks so you have to be able to store stuff but everyone who uses her says they save big.

Hi girls. I saw the bariatric surgeon today. I don't think I'm having any surgery. He did not make me feel good. Basically told me he would do the lapband, but didn't expect it would work. I left, got in the car and started crying. I don't think that is a sign that I should go ahead with it! I have no idea how I'm going to lose all this weight - I can't seem to stick with anything, but this doctor did not make me feel good at all. I'm going to call my regular doctor tomorrow and talk with her some more. She is understanding, listens and I like HER!

I think Bill is disappointed because I know he wants me to lose the weight (not because I look bad, but because of my health - although I do look bad - LOL). He will support whatever I do/choose, but I think he was hoping I'd do this.
