Marie took her dog for a walk. She said when she got back that it was warm outside - there is a breeze, so it isn't too bad. But she is going to the cool basement. If you heat didn't come on yesterday your basement probably was quite chilly!

I had a strawberry yogurt yesterday that was heavenly. That's why I want yogut. I had my spinach casserole instead. I know that doesn't appeal to you, but I love it!

Nope, can't do the spinach! But I'm glad you can enjoy it because it's good for you.

I used a pin~a colada yogurt this morning to make a smoothie. I should have thrown some rum into it.

You know I just remember I have some frozen raspberries in the freezer. I do have a plain yogurt. Maybe I'll add some spenda and fruit and make a smoothie. Thanks Miss I!

I'm not bragging its just that its been a while since I could go to bed without socks and not freeze kwim.
I was never the kind of person that wore socks to bed. I will be sweating buckets. This winter it was different. I needed socks and an extra blanket on me to be warm.

I made and posted a card today for the CAS challenge. I haven't done that in a while. Specially posting something on the same day.

Yes, there were 4 guys in traditional lederhosen, knee-high white socks and Tyrolean hats. They did a dance around a log, keeping the beat by slapping their thighs and feet, and clapping. At one point they stopped dancing, and either sawed or chopped at the log to the beat of the music. Then they did more dancing before the end of the song.

Great touristy stuff.

In addition. Work with women. Talk about hostility. I try to ignore, I try to rise above. Does not work. I had such nice friends at AG.

Hey, Granny, there's an ad on my page now that says, "Rubber Stamp Store Marietta." Funny!

Popped up overnight. Well....popped open overnight.

You can see the mint running WILD and that "a weed is only a weed if it is in my way".

A couple of the azaleas/rhododendrons. Wish they lasted longer. I think they are soooo ugly once they stop blooming.

Afternoon. We had some heavy rains this morning, but they were quick and gone. Still cloudy and we might get more. This is the system that Granny saw yesterday.

Great pictures, Granny! Our irises are barely 6 inches tall at this point.

It's true, the spring flowers don't last long enough. Our tulips barely lasted a week.

Almost waited too long to get the dogwood picture. We have about 25 of them. The white thing is my ENEMY!!!! I have no idea what it is but would burn it if it was not so close to the house.

All the tulips I had planted years ago are basically gone. I think the chipmunks ate those bulbs as well as some of my others! I would like to try again because I love tulips. BUT when the hot weather comes too quickly, they don't last long.

I LOVE pink dogwood trees. I would love one in our yard but we don't know where to put it. Bill doesn't want to add anything more to mow around.

Hi Jo!

Lovely, sunny day here. We're supposed to get rain starting Wednesday night and Thursday. I hope it holds off because my uncle's funeral is on Thursday and there's nothing more depressing than a rainy day funeral.

Get out your ax, Granny!

Yesterday Mr. Wig finally got rid of his enemy: the Japanese quince. It had quite a big root on it. He had sprayed Roundup on it last fall but really had to work to get the remnants out. (And there was still some new growth coming!)

The quince is the orange-flowered shrub on the left. It was very pretty, but had thorns and sent up suckers outside of the border around the garden, so my dad didn't like having to mow around it.

I will cut it to the ground as soon as the blooms are gone. I don't want to get anywhere near it until then....LOL

We will also cut the azaleas back probably 1/2 after blooms are gone so the front of the house can get air.

LOTS of yard work to do and looks like it will be up to me. I will do what I can from now through the Summer then in the Fall when I have more time I am really getting busy.

My mom has been home how many days? Six? And she already knows more about the new neighbors next door than I learned in 5 months. LOL! Granted, it's easier to stand outside and chat when it's 62 degrees, vs. 22 degrees and there is snow to be shoveled.

And Dad went down the street to talk to some tree guys who were working at the foreclosed house (that has been bought and is in the process of being renovated). He asked them to come look at one of our trees, but perhaps he also found out about the new owner of that house.

I told Mom it sounds like it's time for another block party; all these new people moving in.
