I hope your arms are feeling better today, JoJo.

My mom gets that kind of pain in her upper arms/shoulders. I thought it was muscle aches and pain from overdoing stuff (like trimming bushes, etc), but she said sometimes it just comes out of nowhere. Makes me wonder if it's in the joints, arthritis?

Christmas stuff is packed and put away! I'm so glad I made those lists when I unpacked stuff. Even though I moved a few things around, it made repacking easier. Tree has been carried downstairs and covered with a sheet to protect it from dust. It looks like a tall, skinny ghost at the other end of the basement. LOL

I still need to vacuum and dust the living room before I put a few decorative items back into place, but that won't take long.

The local weather guy is saying that most of the snow has fallen. We didn't get as much as they predicted so I may go out now and shovel before it gets any colder.

Everything but my snowmen decorations are boxed up and in my room. I will put them away tomorrow.

I will leave the snowmen out at least through January.

I believe Bill is taking tomorrow off (he said there isn't much going on - but next week he'll be busy again). I will have him help with decorations. Should have taken care of the outside stuff today. The lights are easy enough to pull off the bushes out front, but he has 4 ft angels that are anchored into the ground. He'll do it without complaint, but it would have been a little, tiny bit warmer today.

I have no idea why my arms ache. I told Bill there was nothing I did, especially yesterday, thought would have caused it. Very strange. I have to go back to the doctor for a physical, so I'll add that to the list. I'm dreading going because I've gained the weight back AND I've been eating SO HORRIBLY I know my sugar levels will be elevated - probably quite high.

I wish I could get my family to understand the need to put things away in the same box- I have labeled them, but stuff gets tossed in and then can't be found the next year or forgotten about. It's frustrating. And it has to be lugged up and down from the attic. If I had a room (even the basement) to put it all, I could access it easier and organize as I want.

Because our attic isn't heated or cooled, we have all our Christmas stuff in the basement now. And with the new shelving units we installed after the flood, it was easy-peasy to get my bins back in place. I organized stuff so that MY Christmas bins were easiest to access.

Snow has been removed...AGAIN.

There wasn't much (less than 2 inches) but it was heavier and HURRAY! The snowblower was working (both blades were rotating). So it went a little bit faster than doing it all by hand. Still, my legs got cold. I told mom I need to have her knit me some thigh warmers. LOL.

You were able to fix the snowblower or it just worked correctly this time?

It was working on its own. The last time I used it, it was hit and miss (sometimes half the blade wouldn't rotate, sometimes it would). When Dad told me what to look for to fix the problem, I figured out that it wasn't totally broken: the bolt is still in place, but it's sheared off on one side so the nut or whatever was on that side to hold the bolt tight is missing. So I'll probably still have to replace the bolt at some point, but I'd prefer to do that on a warmer day because it's going to involve some time outdoors.

It was not as bad as I had expected. The mood was really very light.

His son said the funeral tomorrow would be very different from what most in their church were used to.

I LOVE life celebrations instead of teary funerals. I have a feeling it will be full of "Doc" stories that may or may NOT be Church approved....LOL

I DETEST funerals where the preacher is all HELL FIRE and Damnation.

I will be so happy when this year is over.
Oh, dear. Hugs & prayers.

Hi Jo Jo! Phil's off work, but only b/c he has the flu even though he had the shot. He took off through the 1st, but then had to call in sick.

Granny, we watched OLD home movies that dad has put into VHS form & we filmed some electronically. There's one of snow in Marietta that I want to find & put on fb for you!

Miss I, stay warm! Silly for me to say here in Texas, huh? Of course you'll stay warm, but still, I gotta say it!

Kristi, how's your mom doing?

Caro, where are you?

Had a colonoscopy/endoscopy Monday. Tomorrow I get to have the mid section scanned, but that's just a drink barium & they x-ray you. Blech, but better than the colonoscopy prep!

Funniest thing EVER in our house: Phil doesn't hear well, so he's forever wanting us to repeat things. I asked Natalie about something that had nothing to do with him. I don't even remember what it was. He asked, "What did Mom ask you?" She said, "Nunya" as in "none of your business." He said, "I live here, it is too my concern." I asked, "What if I'd been asking her if she needed pads?" BEST way to embarrass a teenage girl, by the way. Well, second best. HIS comeback was the best. After a pause he said, "What if I want to have an input on what pads she uses?" She jumped up & ran to the laundry room, then to the garage. She then came in & ran upstairs. We have this open balcony area, so she started throwing things at him (paper & such) from up there. She was speechless, which is not an easy thing to make her! I laughed SO hard.

Another funny thing that just isn't quite FB type material (I have some overseas friends for whom this would just not be the right place to see this---like a pastor from Nepal). Nat saw a thing on Pinterest with the Disney castle where it would normally say, "A Dream is a Wish your heart makes." Instead it said, "A fart is a wish your butt makes." I think Shani pants needs to stop by here & read that. Let's just say that we've been making wishes here this week. ha, ha, ha!

TTFN!

Oh Lori - we've missed you!

Granny - (and everyone else) it is REALLY snowing here. We are supposed to get up to 8 inches - the worst of the storm happening overnight. We already have 4 inches at least. We're supposed to get strong winds and cold temps, too. As we're heading to bed Bill says "I want to know what happened to the wind we're supposed to get". I told him that is round 2 and not to worry about it. Good grief. If we can catch a break somewhere along the lines, let's take it! Roads were bad around rush hour. He came home about an hour early. I'm very thankful he did.

It's 3:20. I guess I should try to go back to bed. This is really annoying.

Windchills here for Sunday and Monday nights will be ZERO! Actual around 10 degrees. Coldest in over 10 years. Know it does not compare with other parts of the country but that is pretty darn chilly for us.

We are seeing the coldest temps we've seen in 20 years. (I think that was when we had our last ice storm winter). If we break a record, the record will be broken from 1918

Just more cold here. It was something like -14 when I got up this morning. I don't know if we reached the record which was -18 for our city. A city about 70 miles north of us broke their record with -21.

The temp slowly rose during the day until now it's about 19. Sunday night and Monday are going to be the worst; something like -15 for the HIGH on Monday. I went to the grocery store tonight to pick up a few things that I'll probably need on Monday or Tuesday, like milk and bread. It didn't feel too bad out (19 degrees-- LOL).

They're talking about wind chill temps of -30 to -50 on Monday so I don't plan to go out unless I have to. Some schools have already cancelled school. I may not even put the garbage out if it's that cold.

I don't plan to go out if I don't have to. We're trying to eat foods from the freezer - we have too many little things in there. I would love to make chili, but I don't think I have all the ingredients. Wouldn't mind stew or beef burgundy (I have a great recipe that was delicious) but, again, I don't have those ingredients. I know I have salmon and chicken. I just need to check other ingredients.

I wanted to make sure I had chili ingredients, too, even though I just made some a couple of weeks ago and still have 1-2 servings in the freezer. But it was so good! Last week I made a big pot of vegetable soup which tasted pretty yummy, too. I like having leftovers that I can reheat for lunch. I don't like eating a cold lunch when it's this cold.

Granny, how was the funeral? I remembered to pray while I was walking around trying to get the barium through my system. I figured if I had to walk the halls I might as well be productive & pray!

Jo Jo & Miss I....BRRRRRRRRRRRR! Snotcicles for sure. I cannot even imagine. The coldest it's ever been that I remember was in the single digits, but probably around 8 or so. - temps seem unreal to me. Stay safe!

To continue the "embarrass your daughter" convo tonight Phil said, "Natalie, are you ready for me to take you shopping tomorrow?" She looked at him funny & I laughed & said, "For supplies." She left the room. We (Nat & I) told Bethany about this situation & she was indignant. She said, "That's inappropriate!" Oh, my.

Hugs my friends.

You just reminded me I should make my Weight Watchers veggie soup (and add a little chicken). Now to get all those ingredients together! That WILL mean a trip to the store for all the veggies.

Bill grew up with sisters. He would always get things for me if I needed it (that included pads, Midol - before I discovered Advil which truly worked, etc). The girls have never really minded talking about it in front of him. Sometimes we'll bug him in a teasing way, but he really doesn't care much. Now, bras - he doesn't want to know about! LOL

I use a combo of fresh, canned and frozen:

fresh: onion, potato, carrot, celery, cauliflower
canned: diced tomatoes, chicken broth
frozen: peas (sometimes), green beans, corn

Fresh ground pepper, parsley flakes, extra water.

I like how "light" it is.

I've only had one boyfriend buy supplies for me. What was embarrassing is that his mother was with him!!

The subject has never been discussed with my father, that's for sure. lol

I'm going to report you and Phil to the authorities for child abuse.

The kid's daddy would buy stuff for me even before we were married.
