I have been eating a small handful of Pistachios. Not going to eat them tonight.

Sometimes when I wake up and force myself to go back to sleep I will have bad/weird dreams but this is not the case and these are WAY more than weird dreams.

Hopefully, that is all it is - just the pistachios.

Hello there stranger! Have been missing you. Hope you are feeling good.

Got my hair cut and colored. This was my third attempt - had to cancel the last two appts. Came home with a wicked headache. Bummer. We don't have any plans for tonight but having a headache is definitely no fun!

No dreams last night.

Going to give it a few days and try the nuts again and see.

We are having 4 trees, close to the house, cut down. They are going to start on them in the morning. They are healthy but very BIG and very CLOSE to the house. We have been discussing for years the need for them to come down.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Just trudging along here. This is the first night in I don't know how long that we've been able to just come home after work and not go anywhere else. It's been at least 2 1/2-3 months since that's happened. Our extra-special Valentine's Day dinner is pizza - no cooking, no cleaning!

Granny - I hear you about the trees. We had to take one down for a similar reason. I hated to see it go (didn't want to lose the shade) but I do feel better now that it is gone. And the gutters stay a little cleaner, too. Sounds like those nuts might be the nightmare culprit!

Kristi - glad you had a "normal" night. You guys have had too much to deal with. We just did Chinese takeout for dinner. I came home from the hair salon with a bad headache so I'm glad we didn't have any plans. I was in bed at 9. Of course, now I'm awake. I took Lunesta though so I can go back to sleep. I need a good night after the last two nights (falling asleep at 4 one night and 5 the next).

At the hair salon one of the two sisters there told me that her 32 y/o son attempted suicide on Saturday. He's been in the hospital but they want to release him tomorrow. To a day program, NOT a full time program. She is beyond upset. He has said he still wants to die. These two sisters are the sweetest, nicest people. Both have sons with mental illness, plus additional health issues. It is so not fair.

Afternoon. Still quiet here!

Since I didn't feel well last night, I didn't clean up the kitchen. And neither did anyone else! I just unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. There are several pots left. I'm going to do something I really never do - let the thing finish running, unload and then put the pots in! They are soaking now so they should come clean. I just don't feel like standing and washing them. Lazy? Yes!

Talking about lazy...

I finally got out today to run all of my errands. I've been putting them off since I got home from vacation.

post office
Staples
Michaels
Perkins for breakfast (just cuz I felt like treating myself)
grocery store
home improvement store for lightbulbs (it's the semi-annual "time for half of the lightbulbs in the house to die on K).

And finally...Walmart, which was a total ZOO at high noon today. You'd think a big blizzard was predicted or something. And obviously it's an inservice day for the kids, because the place was crawling with them (as was Perkins).

ANYWAY, my main reason for going to Wally World was for toilet paper and Kleenex, and I had coupons for both. When I got in line to check out, I realized I had left them in the car.

Aaaaaand, I was too lazy to go back out to get them. If I had to go out to get the coupons, I just would have left the store and not come back.

And then on the way home I forgot to go to the second grocery store to get eggs. I have a raincheck for those because the store ran out of them when they were on sale a couple of weeks ago. This is at the grocery store that is only 2 blocks away, but now that I'm home I don't feel like going back out again, even for that short of a distance.

Michaels was a zoo, too. At 10:00 in the morning! I figured it would be kind of dead at that time, since Valentine's Day is over and not too many people make special crafts for President's Day. lol

There were employees all over the store stocking shelves, but only one register open. At one time there were 11, yes 11 people in line! (I was #7 at that point.) The clerk called twice for a second checker and finally one came up--the gal that I saw working back in framing.

I just got a telemarketing call from Royal Caribbean Cruise lines!

Guess they're trying to take advantage of that Carnival Cruise ship breaking down in the Gulf of Mexico.

Our number is on the national do not call registry, so I should report Royal Caribbean to the feds for calling here.

I hear you and understand completely. I've often left coupons and the car and won't go back for them. If the girls are with me, I will send them. Otherwise, oh well.

And I wouldn't go back out for eggs either. Nope.

I just got an SU order (with mostly paper that I had run out of!) but a new stamp set, too. I'm going to my craft room in a little while.

As sunny as it was this morning, it all of a sudden got cloudy. Wonder when the temps will start to drop. And I really wonder (but totally doubt) if we will get any snow. So far this year, it's been pretty lame. Although I'm not really complaining. And I'm VERY thankful we haven't been getting ice!

The coupons were not big enough (monetary wise) to make me consider giving up my place in line. Especially since I wasn't parked particularly close either. (As if I couldn't use the extra exercise. )

Of course, I could be like the bimbo who not only parked right under the FIRE LANE-NO PARKING sign, but was facing in the wrong direction.

I didn't realize it, but Beefsteak Rye was a Hostess brand and therefore no longer available. I'm totally bummed.

Do you think anything will happen to me if I eat "Jewish" Rye Bread? I won't get struck by lightning or anything, will I? I guess I'll find out shortly, because that's the brand I had to buy today. lol

I loved Beefsteak Rye, too. And no, you won't be punished for eating Jewish rye! LOL I do happen to love that. There was a Jewish deli near my high school. We used to love to stop there for their wonderful sandwiches every once in awhile. Oh my - sooooo good!

I'm not as concerned about being punished, as possibly being converted. lol

Maybe I'll just start saying "oy" and "schmuck" more often.

The bakery in Czech Village used to make fabulous rye bread. But since they were closed for almost 2 months last year or the year before for health violations (mice, roaches--blech!), I won't go there.

I saw "oy", "schmuck" and "schlep" A LOT. Of course, I grew up in an area with a large Jewish population. I don't think you need to worry about being converted! LOL

My girls laughed the first time I said "schlep". So much that for Christmas I got Marie a bag that had the definition on it. She uses it all the time! Pretty funny, actually! I'm pretty good at a Jewish accent, too. Don't get me started!

Schlep is indeed a fabulous word.

We used it a lot on my overseas recruitment tours. The rule was, you had to be able to schlep your own luggage. So no more than one bag and pack light!

You could use the word like this: I schlep in my clothes last night. Bwahahahaha!

I know you missed me. Tee-hee!

Quick hello. Missing y'all. Been SO worn out all week from nothing. Well, probably from anemia thanks to blood loss. Turns out it probably isn't a kidney stone (unless it's that, TOO) but the . arrived after 2 weeks of having one. That is just WRONG. Too many gross details for here, but this is NOT fun, especially with a sore throat/allergy thing going on & a "sick" husband who doesn't really seem sick except he can't eat much. Poor guy! He rode today but had to stop every 20 minutes to drink water. At least he's drinking water. He's not a big water drinker, but we bought Ozarka spring water. It's way better than the store brand spring water, we discovered. Our water is pretty alkaline, yet, I've been told it still has a lot of acid in it. You'd think they'd neutralize each other.

Okay not short or quick. gotta take a shower. Otherwise I could start growing seeds on my arms. GROSS! That's from Mrs. Piggle Wiggle & the Radish cure. Creeps me out.

Bye!

MissI, you made me giggle. I always tell the guys in here to stop putzing around ...lol

Granny, the pantry looks great. And the paints are gorgeous!

Jo, I'm glad you got just a little dusting of snow. The weather guessers around here said hat we are scheduled for a big snow storm rom Thu to Fri

Kristi, I'm very sorry you are going through all that mess. Some people are just jerks. Praying for you

Lori, plain mashed tatters in my book is just mashed potatoes, maybe a little unsalted butter for creaminess but never sour cream. No wonder it hurt poor Phil. You can also try olive oil instead of un-salted butter

Loribelle, when I was working on my ulcer back in the '90s, my comfort food of choice was penne pasta with plain white sauce. I used the recipe on the Argo corn starch box. It was bland enough to not cause any acid production, yet for some reason it still tasted good to me (good thing I had no problems with gluten!). I still make it sometimes when I don't know what I want to eat but need something to fill me up.

Just FYI in case it's something that Phil might be able to eat.

Good afternoon to all! Sunny Sunday here, cold though.
Glad to be off this weekend...what a week!

People are quitting at my job due to the intense stress everyone is under. I have decided to stick it out. We have lost 3 in past 2 weeks. I felt crazy stressed for a while, now while stressed, I somehow have wrapped my brain around it and accept it. For now...

Caro-how did the big spelling bee go?

Lori-so sorry you are having trouble with food for Phil...
You are doing a wonderful job trying lots of things. Miss I's idea sounds good...plain noodles have been a staple here when recovering from illness. Or Mrs. Grasses chicken soup in the blue box. This may sound gross, but one time my Dad had an ulcer and he had to eat baby food, everything had to be blenderized.

Well, I am just schlepping around at home today, happy to just relax and putz around!

Afternoon friends.

We have friend coming over for dinner. I'm not feeling great but I've already cancelled on them once. Bill is helping me prepare the food "just in case". It's simple so that makes it easier.

Downtown Atlanta at Cheerleading Competition. Was NOT suppose to be coming but Lisa feels awful and asked if I would come with them and drive. I get to see both girls so it is worth it,just NOT what I had planned.

Hope Lisa feels better soon.

Can't sleep. It is WINDY and I keep hearing it, but also just having trouble. Took Lunesta and then started sorted the ever growing stacks of paper.

Is anyone interested in some Stampin Up inspiration sheets -- these are pretty old - Fun Filled, Fresh Flowers, Loads of Love and Love without Out. Fun Filled and Loads are unopened packs. Fresh Flowers has 20 sheets and Love without End 8. I don't want to toss them.

Aloha!

Technically a day off for us today, but as usual we're running around like crazy.

Found out Friday that FIL has not been cremated yet, due to one of the most idiotic legal issues I've ever heard of. It's just insane. So now we are working with a different mortuary, but the original one is throwing up roadblock after roadblock. In the meantime, MIL is all over the place. And her paper hoarding issues are getting worse. She takes page after page of notes on EVERYTHING, and then makes several photocopies of them. Then she types them up on her computer, and prints out several copies of that version.

Caro, thank you for the sweet card! I showed it to MIL, and she loved it too!

Kristi - so sorry for all the hassles. Do you think your MIL is just trying to find control over something? I'm sure she is struggling herself. But that would drive me crazy, too.

I'm pooped! Julie, a friend and I went to organize/clean the art room at church. We do this periodically. We got rid of two big bags of trash, several bags going to Good Will, a big bag of yarn and knitting needles that the friend is taking home. Unfortunately, my Sunday school rooms get used as dumping grounds a LOT. It frustrates me to no end. But we did a great job cleaning up. Now if I can figure out some good decorating ideas.
