Afternoon! Went with my parents to the Flower & Craft Warehouse today. Everything in the store (except certain sized Yankee candles) was 30% off! Nice treat! It was busy and crowded but the checkout lines weren't bad. Then we went to the grocery store again. I bought more things that the kids/Bill ate from our trip there last week and some other things on my regular grocery list.

Now we're home and just chillin'. Tomorrow we'll do some decorating and maybe stamp. We haven't done that yet. I know mom really wanted to get to the store today so I haven't pushed about stamping!

Sounds like fun, Jo Jo. And lots of good deals.

We used to have a place like that here, but it was wholesale only. I remember it being open to the public only a couple of times on special occasions, the last being when it was going out of business. lol

This place was HUGE - it was two floors. The downstairs was mostly raw craft supplies, kids games, crafts, etc., and more. They had a candle room, jewelry room, bath/body room, scrapbook room. The upstairs was furniture, knick knacks, curtains, etc., etc. They really downsized a few years ago. Now everything is on one floor. They have a limited supply of candles (only two manufacturers) and things like that. It is a family-run business so I'm glad they are still in business. Their scrapbooking room used to be a wonderland! They still have nice stuff, but not nearly as much. And I didn't really NEED any of that.

I may have to sell some things (i.e., stamps) before I can "need" any more myself.

baahahaha!

I just like browsing in places like that, even if I don't buy much. It's just fun to look and sometimes it gives you ideas.

Unfinished landscape #1 from last night. See the skinny white area in the middle? That's where Loribelle wants me to paint you all.

I'm really not sure what I'm going to put in there: a lake, more ground, the BCBWs sunbathing on a beach...I don't know. I may have to cruise the web for a picture to inspire me. I wish I hadn't put the painters tape there so I didn't have those hard lines, but we were all just following the teacher.

I got my paper flattened again so it will be easier to work on. I had to spritz the back with water and press it under my heavy dictionaries over night.

I've been online looking for landscape photos (mainly for my "homework" for next week's class).

If you want to see some BEAUTIFUL photography, look at this National Geographic site .

Boooooo! I ordered some ornament-shaped Nesties (hoping to use them to make my Christmas cards) from Cut at Home and was so excited when I received an email from them. I figured it was going to say that my order had shipped.

Instead, the note said that they were "waiting for item #xxx to arrive from Spellbinders" and they are "expected any day now."

Thanks for being so specific, guys.

I was hoping to get my Christmas cards done early so I can work on other things I need for January.

I had plans for the entire day today but had to come home early because all of a sudden it felt like an alien was trying to push itself out of my lower abdomen. I felt like I couldn't stand up straight and I got all hot and sweaty. I think I'm in for an awful round of intestinal unpleasantness.

And here I was at a festival type thing, crowds of people, a trolley ride away from my car. Thankfully I didn't have to wait long for the trolley and I made it home OK, stripped off my SWEATY clothes, and now I'm going to drink a little 7-Up and lie down.

I don't think I can make duck face AND hold the camera at the same time, can I? It was a self-portrait, remember.

Besides, I don't want my face to freeze that way. lol

Well, my mom's idea of spending the day stamping and my idea are two totally different things! We ended up only spending about an hour and a half. And most of the that time was trying to decide what she wanted to use for the embossing on her card. Oh well. I'll have plenty of time to play. And my room is still clean!

Took EVERYTHING out of the pantry today and rearranged it.

Washed and brought in a shelf from the carport and filled it FULL of appliances.

Somehow managed to mess up 3 rooms in the process.

Going to tackle the kitchen tomorrow.

In the middle of all this I took Kason to a birthday party and picked him back up 2 hours later and cooked supper.

Thanks, I am. Even though I was hot and sweaty when it hit me, once I got home I became cold and couldn't get warmed up. All I could think was: I hope I'm not coming down with the flu! So I went to bed wearing socks and slept for about 3 hours I think.

Now I'll probably be up half the night.

It was nice. I don't do many rides. I used to ride more, but with the TMJ & fibro pain, I feel like I don't want to get jolted around too much. However, since it's Christmastime, they have some shows that I enjoy! Nat only wanted to ride one ride (well, she & I did ride the "sissy" ferris wheel ride!) with Phil & Bethany. She & I watched a show called "Happy Holidays" that had 4 men & 4 women singing & dancing to classic Christmas songs plus some modern ones, then non-Jesus birth songs, like Santa Baby (which isn't one of my faves), I want a hippopotamus for Christmas, & many more. At one point the guys had one costumes that were Army uniforms then the girls came out in matching dresses, so it was a lot like watching a USO show from the 40's. So neat. These are amazingly talented young men & women! I was impressed that they had one guy & one gal who were both heavy. They were SUCH good singers. Oh, Miss I would SO love hearing them!

We also went to see a show we've seen several times now called The Majesty of Christmas. It's a 30 minute award winning production of the Nativity. They have flying angels, singers who should be, if they aren't already, professionals, and live animals walking through the theater to the stage including a CAMEL! We love that part every year. Now that we've seen it so many times, we know what to expect, but it was so cute hearing all the children gasp at the same time when the angels "flew" overhead. We could clearly see the wires, etc., but can you imagine to a 5 year old what that must look like? Then the live camel always kind of trips people out! LOL! Every year Phil says how awesome the show is. I hope we get back before the season is over.

The lights are so pretty. Since my living room is a pig sty still, we haven't put our tree up. The girls have started decorating the stairway, though. It was fun to see someone else's hard work on the lights, the big tree (probably 6 stories tall or something absurd), etc.

I had to use albuterol (asthma inhaler) to be able to get deep breaths b/c I'm so out of shape. Blech! AND I had a coke. I've been good about not drinking much, but I have had a tiny bit either every few days or sometimes every day. Today I had 1/2 of about a 24 oz. or so cup. I couldn't drink anymore b/c it's so sweet.

Now I'll probably be up half the night.
I hope you aren't, too! Do you think you got cold from being sweaty then getting into a cold house? You should be here. We had on jeans & t-shirts but could have had shorts & been fine. It's seriously too warm for December.

That would overwhelm my mom. I've tried to get her to stamp & I think if she were younger & starting, she'd enjoy it, but she's kind of set in her crafting stuff. She did buy some stamps & ink once, but ended up just giving it to me.

Granny, you could totally be a home organizer. Even more than just cleaning you could help people like me who don't have a clue how to organize things or what storage tools to use for what. That is really my biggest issue in keeping things clean is not having a "place for everything."

I was going to ask, "Why so many crockpots?" Then I realized I have 2 downstairs & there are only 4 of us. You have 3 grown children & a bunch of grandkids!

I must have gained weight when I took the last round of steroids for allergies/infection. It was only 5 days, but I gained several pounds & I can't get them to come off. I haven't been eating "right" but calorie wise I'm under what I need to eat to maintain weight. Plus my other meds cause weight gain. Of course, cokes & ice cream don't help, either. I need to start eating salads for every meal, I guess.

Getting Bethany to bed. We're up too late like usual.

Sort of. She had found an idea that required double embossing, leaving an empty space in the middle of the card to stamp the image. I had several other possibilities to chose from. She chose one of my folders which did make the whole process a lot easier.

Lori - I have gained some week since early November, too. Very frustrating, but I know what I'm doing wrong. I just need to get back on track and DO WHAT I AM SUPPOSED TO DO!!! A lot easier said than done!
