Spent more time in my craft room this afternoon. I went through more stuff in my closet! I have the floor of the closet for my cross stitch supplies - that takes up so much less room than stamping! I reorganized and was able to consolidate stuff again. Then I was able to move the computer related stuff that Bill keeps onto the floor. Now I have another half of a shelf available! I didn't even get rid of that much, just reorganized. I do think there are some things on the top shelf I can toss. I've gone through some of my crafting magazines and got rid of a lot of those. There are a few more and a box of old greeting cards (purchased). I need to sort through them and take stuff to church if they are still in good shape.

Wow Jo Jo, you've really been on a roll with the cleaning and organizing. I guess having to redo Julie's room has spilled over into other parts of the house? That can be a good thing.

Is Julie's room done now?

We had a wonderful morning at church. My children's choir sang and had to use rhythm sticks in the song. I was worried since it was some new, younger kids, but they did great! I'm so proud of them! When we got home, I got some laundry done, cleaned out some bins that were pulled from Marie's closet (which has been a storage closet for years). We had a good load of stuff that went off to Good Will! After dinner, Bill went through his dresser and the closet and we got two more HUGE bags of stuff to go to Good Will. I'll drop that off sometime this week. Maybe we'll have more by then! A trip to drop off magazines at the church's recycle bin (supports the youth mission fund) and then I stamped. It was a very productive day. My back HURT by the end of the day, but it was a good feeling to get so much done.
You'll appreciate today's Family Circus cartoon.

The family is leaving church and the little boy is saying, "I think when we sing the hymns, it's better if I'm a listener."

The seniors on the team took it pretty hard and there were lots of tears apparently (Kaiti's boyfriend included). Kaiti was NOT looking forward to dealing with her boyfriend when the game was over. "Mom, he's going to smell bad AND be in a terrible mood!"
Did you tell her to get used to it? LOL

Apparently the fans at the Iowa game this weekend booed the team (they got blown out by Penn State).

With all the mess at Penn State, I'm really glad the team is doing so well. I know those players were given the option to leave if they chose without any penalty. I believe only one student chose to go elsewhere. This is good for the students.

But I'm sorry Iowa lost!

And my cleaning binges don't last long. I really don't feel I've gotten rid of much (in my craft room) but it is more organized. Well, I did get rid of a bunch of stuff last week. I have more stamps I'm going to donate, too. That will be a good thing.

Random: I love how Dancing With the Stars has altered its schedule the past two weeks to make sure it doesn't get preempted by the presidential debates.

Eh, I don't really care anymore. I just have to pretend I care because it's my alma mater. Mr. Wig gets REALLY annoyed, however, because he doesn't care for the coach. lol

What's ironic is that the president of U of Iowa was concerned about how our fans would behave toward the Penn State players (being respectful, etc). Apparently she didn't think she had to remind the fans to be respectful toward their own team. LOL

Yes ma'am. Just MY 2 boys.

The popcorn is a little pricey. $10 for a 3lbs tub of popping corn or $10 for a 22oz tin of caramel corn, those are the 2 lowest priced items on the menu.

On the other hand the popcorn is good quality popcorn and its delish. This year we bought Jalapeņo cheese, mud puddles (popcorn, nuts and fudge),peanut butter cup (popcorn, peanut butter drizzle and nuts) and caramel corn.

The boys are quite the salesmen. They are dedicated, hard working, driven, polite (at least with the customers lol) and apparently "cute" too

They chose $$ prizes so they can chose/buy whatever they want. D is going to end up with a wad of money. S a little less, but he had the big wad last year. And probably will have again next year.

Boys in our pack are quite good sellers. Last year we sold $45K in total. We are hoping to get at least the same if not more.

My boys sold $1000 more than last year.

I know, I know..... now

Apparently the word conyugate does not exist in English. I was just trying to play on words but got mixed up with Spanish.... (Spanglish ;0 )

Conyugal= marriage

I'm working on a file that is just about driving me crazy.

It's been like a monkey on my back and I will be glad to be rid of it tonight.

Hola Chicas

You have all been kind of quiet today.

I was thinking I would have sometime before I have to pick up the boys from school to stop by and chat but...... nope. I had extra stuff to correct at school

Wink

During my week b/n jobs I am:
1) getting my furnace checked
2)getting a badly needed hair cut.
3)taking my cat to the vet, which is very overdue. She is older and should have had labs months ago given she is on thyroid and prednisone meds.
4)purging my closet of all ill fitting clothing...if it was not fitting right when I was smaller, I won't like it when I get smaller again!
5)going to visit my Dad who will be leaving for AZ for the winter November 1
6)cleaning out makeup drawer which is entirely gross
7)drink coffee and stare out the window as needed!!
watch episodes of shows I like, like Downton Abbey....

What's ironic is that the president of U of Iowa was concerned about how our fans would behave toward the Penn State players (being respectful, etc). Apparently she didn't think she had to remind the fans to be respectful toward their own team. LOL
Do you mean because of all the problems at Penn State? That is ironic that the fans treated their own team poorly.

Hedgie - I'm glad you've planned some fun things for your time off. You deserve it.

It was warm here today, too. And rainy. I don't remember hearing anything about rain in the forecast at all this week.

Today's news has been absolutely awful. There was an Amber Alert on a 12 y/o NJ girl two nights ago. They found her body today. Two teenage BOYS (ages 15 and 17) are the suspects. They wanted parts from the girls' bike. Their mom was the one who turned them in. I can't imagine how either family is dealing with this. And what could these boys have been thinking?!!??! And there is a 10/mo old baby girl who was kidnapped yesterday afternoon. Her 61 y/o grandmother was killed and then they abducted the baby. She is a beautiful little girl. I hope this one has a better ending.

I'm quite depressed about all that now.

Hedgie, so happy you have this time off and things to do!

Jo, that is such sad news. I guess the boys are brothers. I can't imagine. Hope they find the baby.

I've had 2 busy days. We were given a used car just in time for the van to need work! I had appointments yesterday and today so had to take Phil to work. Went to an insurance meeting today. So boring, but Phil would have been clueless since I do that stuff, so he asked if I'd go. I had an, um, internal sonogram today. I'm having some pains just from that. No fun!

So tired but want to get girls in bed before I go. British poetry is boring. I mean learning ABOUT British poetry. I told the 3 girls we may skip ahead to books then come back to poetry orcwe'll all be bored to tears! It is more interesting to me seeing how the culture dictated the literature, but boring in the way the book is written. In case you wondered. LOL!

Lori - I'm glad you have the second vehicle right now. What a blessing.

I had an internal ultrasound a few weeks ago. That was when they were checking for fibroid tumors or cysts to help figure out my back pain. They found nothing, all looked good. I guess I should be pleased, but I still have the low back pain with no answers as to why or really how to treat it.

It's 1:30 and I can't sleep. I made a list of the things I want/need to do tomorrow so I'm not rolling that around in my head. I just can't fall asleep. I'm weird.

I did sleep. Just had to sleep later in the morning than I wanted. But I've also gotten a few things done today including some errands, so I feel okay with how the day is progressing!
