I started a project I shouldn't have (not this late, anyway).

I want to renew one of my magazine subscriptions. Somewhere, SOMEWHERE, unless I'm totally dreaming, I have a $20 gift certificate that I could use to apply to this. I have NOT been able to find it since the basement fiasco in March. There were a couple of other things I haven't been able to find either. These things were upstairs when the flooding happened, so I know they didn't get damaged or thrown away.

So slowly I've been going through the remaining stuff that hastily got thrown into boxes and bins during the cleanup. Not a fun job finding new places for this hodgepodge of stuff: old photos, birthday cards, retirement papers, you name it.

Well, I found 2 of the items I've been looking for (HURRAY!), but still no gift cert (BOO!). These items were near the lost gift cert, so I'm still baffled as to what happened to it.

I also found a card I meant to mail to Loribelle for her last birthday. (I may mail it now, just to get rid of it. LOL)

And now I have a big mess on my desk that I should just deal with once and for all so I can be done with it. You should see this place!

Hola! Hate being so busy I can't chat. Really hate being busy all day & feeling so unproductive! Still need to shower before I go to bed. Co-op early tomorrow (10 is early when you go to bed after 1!). Night!

Evening. Still have my headache. It is getting really old. We leave for NY tomorrow. I hope I can find enough clean clothes to take with me. I'm so frustrated.

My wonderful husband knew I wasn't feeling well so he went to the grocery store and took Julie to the Post Office. I'm so very, very blessed with him.

You could always pretend you're a college student, and take home some dirty laundry for your mom to do.

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow and that you have a great time celebrating your dad's birthday!!

Moved the house I usually clean on Thursday to tomorrow. I just needed a 'day".

Poppa and I....

Went to bank
By biscuit place
Met a lady to p/u pan I bought on online yard sale
Went to check on Geocache box we hid over the weekend
Then Sam's(BAD mistake....LOL)
And Dollar Tree. Buy most of my cleaning stuff here and it works great
Picked up Kason
Dropped him and Poppa back here
Headed to used book store
Came home fed Kason
Made Kamryn something to eat on her way to competition gym
Picked her up from school cheerleading practice
Met Lisa
Met to p/u books I bought from the online garage sale
Came home
Ate supper
Dropped in heap.

Afternoon. I think I've done everything I wanted to. I have spinach casserole baking (mom, SIL and I love this) to take with us. I need to shower and pack.

Not sure if I will be able to check in so everyone have a GREAT weekend. It is glorious here.

We will be taking a trip to the dump Saturday. Granny will be so proud!

I'm so glad we didn't disband here. I'm SO busy, but I have to have a time to check in with my honies. I've decided FB is a place where everyone (present company excluded) feels free to critique you. You know, you post, "I'm tired," and people say, "You stay up too late." "You need to get up earlier." "If you didn't take medicine you wouldn't be tired." That's just a made up example, but you get the idea.

Sorting through junk now. Lots of junk. And clearly I am a "hoarder" and lo & behold, did you know I should give things away & throw things away? I had NO IDEA! Insert snarky face here. One friend said it in a very well meaning way & didn't even say it that way, just to try to get rid of things to make it easier on move in. I KNOW I have too much junk & it isn't an emotional attachment issue. It's an issue of I can't just dump it b/c I'm missing things like my social security card, need to keep school records, etc. Couldn't lift for months, SHOULDN'T lift now. You know the story. I'd rather give stuff that's usable away than throw it away. Not junk. I throw that away. But truly usable items I want to give away to someone. I'd love to be rid of most of the stuff! That's the difference in a hoarder & just a messy person who's always sick & tired. AT least I think it is.

Well, aren't I little Mary Sunshine today? ha, ha! I'm glad you all love me warts & all. I love y'all!

Lori - I hear you and wish I could be there to help. Even just lifting things and getting them out of your way. Carting to the dump or storage or whatever. And yes, Facebook friends/family always have answers to our questions, don't they? VENT away here. If you didn't have so much happening, I would call you just to chat and cheer you up, but I know you need that valuable time. HUGS

You have warts?!??!?!

Hang in there, Loribelle. It's hard to stay organized and once things get out of control, it's time-consuming to sort the junk from the MUST SAVE. I'm still dealing with that in the basement, 7 months after the flood. No doubt certain people (I'm sure you know who I mean!) in this house would have had it accomplished by now, but we all have our own quirks and work at our own pace. Sometimes having a deadline (like a move) helps; just try not to let the stress get to you.

Big ol' ugly warts! Actually poor Natalie does have some and the dermatologist has used liquid nitrogen then started giving shots. Ouch!

A few members of my graduating class have been meeting every few months for lunch for about a year. I have not made it to any of them for one reason or another. I think I may go in the morning.

How many kids were in your class?

My cousin Richard has a high school group that meets for breakfast once a week. It's all guys, from the sounds of it, and apparently they didn't all hang out together during school. Our neighbor up the street is part of the group.

Even though I dislike going to the grocery store in the late afternoon (it's usually super busy, especially on Friday), I decided to go today and get it over with. The store was busy when I first got there but then it kind of thinned out, so it wasn't so bad. They had a lot of good things in their ad this week so I stocked up.

AND, I lucked out this week and filled up my gas tank before the price went back up! I stopped Tuesday night on my way home from watercolor class. This is the new gas station built by the grocery store just two blocks away. When you buy certain things at the grocery store, you get so many cents off per gallon at the gas station. Anyway, gas was $2.99, but I got it for $2.92 a gallon with my fuel saver card.

Today, all of the stations are back up to $3.15/gal.

Tonight: final episode of What Not To Wear. I'll miss this show.

I may have to fix myself a drink in my Red Nek Margarita glass. For my birthday, Stella sent me 2 frozen drink mixes and they've been in the freezer now for a couple of months. Might just be time to try them out. I think all you have to do is open the package and pour them into a glass. LOL

Nat left the tv on today so even after she went upstairs I was watching (or listening to) WNTW. I wonder if they've counted how many times Stacy said, "SHUT UP!" over the years. LOL! Nat's going to her friend's house to watch the final episode. I doubt we can get Phil to watch it.

Granny, you wear me out when I hear how much you work! I'm so amazed at you.

Well, the tow truck just got to Phil. Nothing like being a no car family! Homeless, carless, hmmmm, we DO have food. And a home for 2 weeks or so. No stress at all. smirk.

Well, the tow truck just got to Phil. Nothing like being a no car family! Homeless, carless, hmmmm, we DO have food. And a home for 2 weeks or so. No stress at all. smirk.
WHAT?? Your other car broke down?

Do you have a dark cloud following you around?? You poor thing--what rotten luck.

My phone can go days without ringing.

But when I want to watch the series finale of one of my favorite shows, it rings THREE TIMES in less than 40 minutes.

The first time it rang was just as WNTW was starting. For some reason I thought it was going to be my mom (or at least someone for me, right??), so I picked it up and instead of saying hello I said, "Who's calling me just as my show is starting?"

It was my mom's former boss! Their former principal passed away and she was calling to ask if my mom was planning to go to the wake.

The second time it rang I let the answering machine pick it up. It was my cousin (the one whose son just died), wanting to talk to me about doing a collage for her with some old pictures. I'll have to call her back.

The third time it rang, the person didn't leave a message so I don't know who it was. But we're always getting stupid scam/telemarketing calls so it could have been one of those.

Commercial is over. BBL!

We've had lots of drama going on with the Becky situation. Her mom was only seeing her every other weekend, and half of those weekends she chose to do something else instead. So, her parents got fed up and kicked her out of the house they bought for her!

Becky's mom and her boyfriend are now renting an apartment about 25 minutes away, in an awful neighborhood. Really unsafe. Bad enough that there's no way we want Becky going over there. And Becky herself doesn't want to go there.

Last weekend there was more drama with the whole situation. Becky and her mom were fighting on the phone all week, and Becky didn't want to see her at all. Her mom was fine with that until she found out that we let Becky spend some time with her grandparents (who her mom is no longer speaking to since they kicked her out of the house). She then went ballistic and was screaming at anyone who was listening (over the phone) that just because Becky wasn't physically with her it was still her custodial weekend and she didn't give her parents permission to take Becky anywhere. Finally got the situation diffused, but it led to Becky asking Will to take her mom to court to get full legal custody. She's just sick of her mom causing so much drama.

So, we'll be visiting the lawyer (again) this week to get the ball rolling. We're hoping her mom has a rare moment of sanity and goes along with it without taking to court. She has no money whatsoever, and her parents won't help her at all financially now that Becky doesn't spend any time with her. Just an ugly mess.

Adding to all the stress, Becky was in a (minor) car accident yesterday. Her tutor was driving her home from school, and some idiot pulled out of a parking lot right in front of her. The worse part is that the other driver took off! The police caught her a few blocks away (lots of witnesses were able to give a good description of the car and driver). Both Becky and her tutor are fine, no injuries thank goodness!

And, another example of what a fine mother she has: Will texted her mom right after he found out about the accident, just to let her know what happened and that Becky was okay. Now, if the situation was reversed or if it was my kids and my ex texted me, we would have been on the phone that second to make sure they were okay. Her mom didn't bother calling her until late last night, and was mainly interested in talking about the slumber party Becky is going to tonight. Becky finally had to ask her if she knew about the accident, and her mom just said yes, but if you're okay there is no need to mention it. Um, okay
