Caro, have you been watching PR this season? It's been a mostly underwhelming season, design/creativity-wise.
Yes, I have been watching PR faithfully. Some episodes have been better than others.
Last week was a bit of a wth? I don't have anything against Alexandria but her outfit was horrendous. The top looked like it had been attacked by rabid moths.
I totally agree when they sent Kate home. Here dress made me gag. It was a home ec project gone really really bad. The red head guy's (can remember his name) dress was weird but IMO better than Alexandria's.
That Ken guy was NASTY NASTY NASTY. I wanted to get through the screen and slap some sense in him. He obviously has BAD anger problems. His own mother said so.
Design wise is been kind of a doozy overall. I do like Dom, Justin and the other red-headish guy with a beard. Like I said, I don't have anything against Alexandria but she has been unremarkable. And Helen is a total witchy-p00.
Although I have to say, the dress she made for the fan make-over was good

So sad about Luke's children. A divorce itself is bad enough, but then to lose their dad in this way and be excluded is very sad. I would only hope that I would not treat them that way if I were in the same situation.

Allergies will sometimes just get my eyes, too.

Well, I think the judges copped out tonight. Alexandria and Helen should have been sent home. The main challenge was avant garde, and neither one "brung it." I loved Braden's white dress with all the funky pieces. He was clearly the winner.

I can never remember at this point whether there are 2 more episodes or just one. I think it's 2, especially now that Tim has to visit 5 designers.

And then when the minister referred to "the family" and waved his arm in that direction, they would have felt more included.

But like I said, the 2nd wife's parents were obviously in charge. Apparently they couldn't care less about his children from a previous marriage. Yet they call themselves Christians.

Something similar happened to Lisa and Aaron when their dad died. His 2nd wife and stepdaughters were listed as his wife and HIS kids, and Lisa and Aaron were listed at the end of the obituary in a really odd way (not identified as son or daughter), like an afterthought. It was odd and disgusting. But that is Lisa's stepmom all the way. At least they were old enough to handle it. But Luke's kids are KIDS. It breaks my heart.

THAT is just wrong.

Man! I will be glad when this week is over.

Monday....Signed up for another Art Class. Ran some errands and cleaned house a little. Washed some cruise clothes but haven't unpacked. Going to St Augustine at the end of month so may not completely unpack.

Tuesday....A friend and I cleaned the elderly man's house for the last time. He has already moved to North Carolina.

Wednesday....Cleaned at my elderly lady's house.

Today....Cleaned Lisa's.

Tomorrow....Cleaning another house.

In addition to all the regular kid pick up and delivery....LOL

Granny's been a cleaning fanatic! Are your muscles sore?

I am doing a little cleaning tonight because I'm looking for something that has been missing since the basement got flooded in March. Actually, I'm looking for several items that I know are together somewhere. They were not in the basement when it got wet, but I would have brought them down here sometime before the folks got home in early April. I was pretty sure they were going to be in this one bag with the Christmas cards I received last December. Nope. So now for the life of me I cannot figure out where they are! It's driving me crazy. One item is a $20 gift certificate to an online shop.

<--- Should have been in bed an hour or two ago, but decided she needed to start work on her October art calendar AND that she wanted to do watercolor. at herself. LOL

I finished the background which includes two pumpkins. I'll do the rest tomorrow because it takes a while to do the calendar part.

Speaking of nasty...

Were my eyes deceiving me or did I see an ad for the upcoming PR All Stars that included that nasty Sandro guy that walked off the current show? I can't believe they would give him a second chance, especially since his designs were not that great.

Maybe by the time the show starts, I will have found something better to do with my time. LOL (OK, so I already have lots of better ways to spend my time. But sometimes I just want to veg out in front of the boob-tube. )

I certainly hope that Luke had a will that somehow provides for them.
That is sad.

Hi dearies. Allergies are bad here. i saw the allergist on Wed. She agrees I have thrush & has me on 2 weeks of diflucan. Also on steroid to kick the allergies. NO antihistamines til Wed. night b/c I'm getting allergy tested again to see about starting shots. Blech! The steroid helps that but I know they cause weight gain which is a double BLECH BLECH!

Heading to MIL's for the weekend for step FIL's birthday.

Have a good weekend!

Allergies can be a royal pain. My poor brother had shots when he was a child. Four in one arm and five in another. He has outgrown them to a degree and can just take over the counter stuff now. Mom and I have gotten worse as we've gotten older. I'm actually feeling a lot better today. Have no idea why - nothing's changed!

They're saying we got 2.5 inches of rain since last night. And of all times (right before they're predicting 3 days of rain), Mrs. Wig decided it was time to take down the rain gauge for the winter. So we don't know how much rain we actually got at our house. The sump pump hole is still as dry as a bone, however.

I got all excited a few minutes ago because I thought the pump had kicked in. But it was just the dryer vibrating as it rubbed against the sump pump cover (Dad had peeked in the hole earlier). lol

I heard about the snow predictions. Also just read something about tornados in your area? We are still in the 80s through Sunday. Then Tropical Storm Karen is supposed to make its way to us. Although we are really just supposed to get a soaking rain. We need it. It's been awhile.

The tornadoes earlier tonight were in northwest Iowa (quite a ways from us), and the ones tonight are about 3 hours due north. Nothing has happened here yet, but the possibility of storms is predicted all the way through tomorrow afternoon. Iowa plays at home tomorrow and kickoff is at 11:00, so I hope the weather cooperates. This is not normal October weather by any means!

We need a good soaking rain, too. But so far everything has missed us. We don't mind missing the hail, flooding or tornadoes...but would love some decent rain.

Lightning hit a garage in Des Moines earlier today and started a fire. Glad that storm missed us, too.

The weather is really crazy everywhere. HOT here (and humid), lots of snow in Denver, tornadoes in Iowa. And Tropical Storm Karen moving to the gulf coast. There is no 'good' place right now.

Granny, how was the 5k? Will and I are doing one next Sunday, a fundraiser for the local school distract to fund athletics. He's probably going to run it, while I wog (walk/jog). I'm not sure I'll ever be able to run an entire 5k though - it's too hard on my old joints!

Sounds like weird weather everywhere. It's been really nice here - chilly mornings, but upper 70s/low 80s during the day. Very comfy.

So much for being able to a stick around for a bit and chat. Errands up the wazoo, then we're heading to the A's playoff game this evening - can't wait!

Went to meet a lady to buy a Baker's Rack from her. Pretty good deal for $10.00.

Her husband broke it down into 2 parts,so I thought it would fit in my car.

NOPE....Had to call Poppa to come meet me and get it.
