Such a dork, my nightgown was stinky, not me! LOL!
Oh no!!

I've been sleeping nekkid lately. I toss and turn so much, the nightgown just gets in the way.

It got up to 88 degrees yesterday and was humid so we turned the AC back on. It's supposed to be about the same today. Wait -- Just noticed they're predicting a high of 93 this afternoon. Blech!

We might be able to turn it back off tomorrow when it's supposed to cool down again.

Did anyone notice the full moon last night? It looked huge here.

It's raining right across the road from us. Literally. But no rain at our house.

The rain did make it across the street, but it didn't last very long. We need it badly.

What would you do?

A classmate of my mom's called today to ask whether her brother and SIL could come to the class reunion with her. (She's staying with them when she comes for the reunion.) After all, "They know you, they know X and Y. Well, they know practically everyone."

Yes, they might know everyone but they are NOT FROM THAT CLASS.......
That is just my 2 cents.
Next thing you know they want to bring the hotel front desk clerk, the pool boy, etc because they know people at the party.

Its been raining elephants again. Last night the thunder was HUGE. To make it worse i had the windows in the bathroom and bedroom open. Gosh, it freaked the lights out of me.

Right now we had more storms. Goodness we needed them. But I wish it was in smaller less dramatic installments, kwim.

The heat was blech yesterday and today too. With the humidity so high it was asphyxiating.

Pico de gallo explanation, as told in Ecuador.

Pico de gallo is a chile in Ecuador. And they call it like that because its small, sharp and stings just like a a rooster beak.

The Mexican version of pico de gallo is actually a salsa type of mix

Yeah, that's what Mrs. Wig thought, too. Using that logic, over half the town could come and then you have an entirely different event.

Anyway, Mrs. Wig told her that she had to give the headcount to the country club 3 weeks ago (for the catering and table set-up), so she didn't know about adding people just 2 days before the event. And the gal said OK. I can't believe she would even ask. This is a class reunion, not a school/town reunion.

(P.S. I don't know if there's a hotel in their town anymore, and I seriously doubt there are any pool boys. LOL)

Saw on the Weather Channel that storms were crossing your area. (We always watch for Sauk and Dane counties, because that is where my parents' friends live). Hope you're keeping high and dry!

We had some strong wind, thunder/lightning, and rain blow through here around 6:30-7:00. I shut down the computer. I've been downstairs arting for a while so I don't know what's going on now. We wouldn't mind a good steady rain for several hours, but could do without the damaging storms.

Quite dry. There was some moisture on the wall but that is the extend of it.

Grrrr! Two nights ago I made a special trip all the way across town to buy a can of that "Make it Acid Free."

Today I tried to use it to spray some of the things for Mom's scrapbook. It sprayed for about 2 seconds and then QUIT. And I cannot get it to spray for anything. I even tried to clean the nozzle with odorless mineral spirits and hot water.

I called the store about returning/exchanging it, but I've decided I'm not in the mood to do that today. I'll wait until the next time I'm on that side of town. In the meantime, I'm going to look for it elsewhere. PITA!

Afternoon! Happy weekend. Sure is quiet around here with folks on trips and whatnot.

I pulled an all-nighter to get mom's scrapbook done. Of course I couldn't finish all of it because of the lack of the "Make it Acid Free," so some things are just lightly tacked down with temporary adhesive. I'll have to go back later to finish those pages. But at least everything is in there and I think it looks very nice. I'm so glad I bought the additional pages for the second book. It made it so much easier to incorporate the additional photos Mom wanted to add.

Once both folks are cleaned up I will take their picture, and then as soon as they leave I will probably take a nap. lol

Checking in from the Poconos. Having a great time. My cousin left earlier today. It is now raining but
Bill and I are dry and watching tv and listening to the rain. I love it. We'll be home tomorrow and I'll read back and share our adventures.

Miss I, it actually felt like fall here, too! A VERY pleasant surprise. We've had a rainy week (of course we are always in need of rain, so it was nice, too), but the blue skies & COOL breeze were so nice. I'm sure it was in the 80's, but not 90's, so for us that is fall weather! Sorry the spray stuff isn't coming out. That's stinky!

Caro, howdy! How are you?

Jo Jo, glad you are having a nice time. When I was a young romantic thing I wanted to honeymoon in the Poconos in one of those honeymoon suites. Now that I'm an old thing I'd be happy to just to have a vacation anywhere I could sleep! LOL!

Granny, if you check in, HOWDY from Texas!

Kristi, how's your finger doing? How's work? Dare I ask: How's MIL doing? And your mom? How's school for the kids---college & all!

Shani Pants, hello! How are you?

I guess this is either a cold I have or allergies running amuck. Blech. I can't find the sudafed. I'll use Afrin spray tonight along with some benadryl (already took zyrtec). Not fun!

I have about 6 purses ready to start sewing on & then some others I want to do. I really would like to get some of these sold. I only bought a little fabric (some fallish colors) and am trying to use the fabric I have here since it's so much. I have mostly brights, but not warm fall colors. What I have in fall shades is scrap size so I have to get creative. Wait, I think I bought a charm pack in fall colors. That's a pack of 5" squares of fabric. Now, where did I put that? Hmmmmm.

No house yet. I would LOVE to have a house built, but I know that won't happen. I think I"m going to look at house plans & then from that maybe we can figure out more of what we think would work for us. Of course, finding a house we LIKE in our price range in an area we like is the trick. Would love a couple of acres in the country---NOT going to happen, though.

Hey, do you want to see the house I lived in during high school, part of college & at various times in my adult life? My folks lived there for 23 years. 1440 Colleen Drive, Canyon Lake TX - Trulia

Night!

No, it's Krylon brand Make it Acid Free. It's the only thing I could find (at the independent scrapbooking store; Michaels didn't have anything). The store said I can return it.

I keep forgetting that we have a new and improved JoAnn's store now. I don't know if they would have anything like this? I'll have to remember to check the next time I'm on that side of town.

That's some house, Loribelle. I'd like to know how you cooked on that stove? Or how you climbed those steps up to the deck.

Quiet day around here. I slept in. Watched the Packer game (they lost ). Picked a basketful of tomatoes. Downloaded photos I took of mom and dad yesterday, and then the photos they took at the reunion last night. I'd like to get any photos printed and scrapbooked right away so I can get all that stuff put away. Hopefully one of her classmates will have a better group picture where we can see everyone's faces.

I need to do laundry and wash my hair, but I'm feeling lazy. lol

WOW, I have never seen a roof deck. Interesting way to find space.

I keep forgetting that we have a new and improved JoAnn's store now. I don't know if they would have anything like this? I'll have to remember to check the next time I'm on that side of town.
I saw today that we just got that Krylon spray at the store. I will ask more about it and maybe see if we have any out of inventory to try at the store.

I will let you know what I find out

Why, we just stood on the walls and walked up the steps on our hands! LOL! They must have moved the steps b/c when my dad & friend built it (well, the friend, dad didn't really do much work) the stairs went up the side between the porch & shed that's under the deck. That first view of the lake is what we could see from the deck. Why they chose to use a cloudy day picture is beyond me! I'd love to live there but it's a pretty penny whenever it's for sale.

Wellllllllllll...it was actually built just as a high deck to see the lake. The little building under it started as an overseas moving crate (my dad was in the moving business). His friend cut holes for windows & put those in. Dad kept his riding mower in it. They had nearly an acre of land & in the back there was actually a CAVE! Too small for us to go in, but we were told some spelunkers did go in it once to check it out. I miss that house. I dream about being in that house so often. Many memories.
