Just saw an ad for one of my favorite shows, What Not To Wear.

The new season starts August 9. And they said it's the final season. That bums me out.

My kids told me they were calling this show on me. I told them I would not go along with them even for a new wardrobe.

I still need to make an engagement card for Marylee. I have some ideas, but I'm feeling so exhausted that I'm putting it off.

I only have two wedding type stamps but I'm not sure about them--they look more wedding-y than engagement-y, KWIM? LOL. This means I'd have to go to Plan C which would be to use a heart stamp. That would take more thought which I'm just not up for right now.

I guess we've both missed our chance to be on the show.

Miss I - It's truly okay. Just so much my color! LOL I struggle making engagement or shower cards, too.

Granny - I would not go on that show either. I have enough issues - I know I don't dress well right now. If I lost weight, I MIGHT have a better shot. But nope - won't catch me there.

What did I use--blue beads?

I don't remember half of what I've made.

That's a good boy.

You made a lot of stops. Did you find anything interesting to buy?

I'm getting ready for the big party and I'm running behind! Probably won't be back until tomorrow. Everyone have a great evening!

I have been looking for a used book store. I had a bunch of books from my mom that I wanted to get rid of that way. We ended up just dropping them at the library to sell in their book sale.

Managed to get laundry done today. That is about it. I need to finish up some ironing so I can get the ironing board out of my bedroom. As a horizontal space it collect 'stuff'

This one just opened. They bought all the inventory of another one that was closing.

Their FB page looks like they are going to be big on trading in for points.

Inquiring minds want to know: what was the mystery kitchen gadget?

Do you like horror movies, or did you buy them for someone else?

I used to enjoy reading, but now it's rare for me to read a book (or even a short story, which I used to LOVE). I can think of only 2 books that I've read in the past year.

I'm home, got undressed, had a bite to eat, and have been picking up the house a little since the folks get home tomorrow. (Nothing major, I just had a few dishes in the sink to wash, clean laundry hanging on the line to put away, etc).

Had a nice time tonight. I actually had more fun at the "after party" at the Lion than at the engagement party. I saw some folks I had not seen in a long time, including my Ron! The engagement party was a little awkward for me because practically everyone was there with a spouse or was a family member. They didn't have enough tables, so 4 of us Red Lion folks ate our dinner standing up at a cocktail table. (There were 3-4 tables of people standing up to eat.) We pretty much stood up the entire night, until some people left which freed up some chairs at a table. That gets old fast, especially when you're wearing heels. Thank goodness I didn't have really high heels on, but still.

The Lion was busy and I saw some old friends from back in the day, and I actually got to sit and talk with them. But the atmosphere is different there now, due to the negative behavior of one particular person. I'm glad I'm no longer in that loop, KWIM? I don't want the drama.

I got home about midnight. I told Marylee I would stay longer but there was no way I would be able to get my Spanx back up in a small restroom stall, and I needed to go to the restroom. She understood completely. LOL

I better get to bed. I talked to Dad yesterday and he's not going to shoot today (Sunday), so they'll be home fairly early.

A cookbook holder with a plastic shield in front. I pretty much thought that was what it was.

I am not as "in" to horror as I am really BAD SyFi movies. Kamryn has decided she likes horror so I bought. Exorcist,Boogey Man,Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Amityville Trilogy.

I read a lot. My glasses need changing,so I have been reading larger font on my Kindle but I love the feel of a book in my hand.

Howdy from MIL's! After VBS last week we had Bethany's birthday party Thursday night with sleepover, Six Flags Friday with the party goers, drove here yesterday & my folks are heading here now. We brought 2 friends & they are all out on the jet ski with Phil.Well, a tube behind the jet ski, too. It doesn't hold 5 people! LOL! I love how Phil stands up to his mom & puts her in her place. I can't do that or she just gripes more at me & is so rude. The girls are all trying to be extra nice as they've all (guests, included, who've been here before) seen her wrath. Poor Lester (step FIL).

Just wanted to pop by & say "Hey". That sounds so southern!

Hope MIL keeps her comments to herself so you all can enjoy your weekend.

Super tired today! Did not get enough sleep last night/this morning.

I picked some lettuce to make a small salad to go with spaghetti for dinner. We also have 6-7 cucumbers to eat now. Folks got home around 1:30 and we got the motorhome unpacked. They took 2 big tomatoes with them that they didn't use, so now we need to eat them, too!

I feel like running up to the store and buying some bacon to make BLTs for supper instead of spaghetti, except I've already thawed the meat.

We normally eat an early dinner on Sunday (even earlier than usual ), and because I'm tired it feels later than it really is, so I'm going to start cooking. CYL

Two bedrooms and one bath cleaned, dusted, swept and mopped.

Poppa's bed stripped, washed, dried and made back up.

My sheets(bedclothes....LOL)in dryer. My blankets and comforter are always folded down so they don't need washing right now.

Fresh field peas cooking for supper to go with not homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes and mac 'n' cheese. Will heat up the kitchen because cornbread is needed with this meal.

20 books and about 30 kid's books ready to trade in for used book store points.

Taking a break then headed to give the hall bathroom a quick once over. Not in mood to deep clean it.

Living room and dining room are okay and just need sweeping and mopping.

Kitchen and pantry room we WON'T talk about.

You accomplished plenty, Granny.

Here it is 5:00 and we've already eaten dinner, finished the dishes (hand-wash things), and the dishwasher is running with everything else. I ended up making spaghetti. I made a salad with lettuce from the garden, tomato, cucumber, etc. And then we also had fresh cucumber slices with a cucumber-dill dip. Mom bought a dip mix (dry mix) this past week when she and Jackie were out shopping. I had enough sour cream in the fridge to make half a batch. And there were 4 slices of garlic toast in the freezer that I used up.

Nothing fancy, but it all tasted good and I know my mom appreciates when I cook and "wait table." LOL

Granny - you got a LOT done. I'm sitting here and there is so much I could/should be doing. I still have laundry. I'm going to start putting my clothes aside for vacation. I need to finish up my list of foods/supplies for the trip, too. I think I have all the sheets and towels set aside. I bought laundry detergent. Have to see if I need dishwasher detergent or if I have some here. When we go away I like to take the little pods - I don't have to worry about the caps opening and spilling all over.

Miss I- I hear you with the spanx! And your dinner sounds wonderful. Marie just asked if we could grow our own lettuce. I told her we would have to tend to it which are not always good about doing.

Swept and mopped living room.

Cut my finger washing knives my elderly friend gave me because she didn't want to cut herself.

Finally got it to stop bleeding which was good since my sheets, pillowcases, blankets and comforter are all white and I had to make up my bed.

Ended up with meatloaf, fresh field peas, mac 'n' cheese, mashed potatoes, cucumbers, onions, fresh tomatoes and cornbread for supper.

Wiped down hall bathroom.

We still WON'T talk about the pantry room and kitchen although I did wash all the dishes.

I didn't accomplish a thing tonight, other than staying up late enough to watch Brother vs. Brother on HGTV. lol

And my left ankle is ACHY. One of those inexplicable dull aches. I was trying to stretch it out and then was in the recliner and had it propped up on pillows, but I don't think that helped any (it's not swollen or anything). I finally took a double dose of Advil to see if that would help. I hope it feels better tomorrow.

When's your vacation, JoJo? (PM me if you don't want to reveal it here.)

Lettuce: it hasn't needed a lot of tending. Of course, Dad had already tilled the garden in order to plant his tomatoes and cucumbers, so I didn't have to do any of that prep work. And he's spaded it up once since then, so we haven't had a problem with weeds. The main thing early on was keeping the rabbits away from it by spraying that stuff on the ground.

It's easy to pick. It takes some time to clean and dry it, but you'd have to do that if you bought leaf lettuce at the store. Almost wish I still had a salad spinner. If I plant lettuce again next year, I might have to get one.

We have some tomatoes starting to turn! Now we need the heat (although I have been loving the cool temps the last couple of days).

I wanna talk about the kitchen, Granny. C'mon!!!

Was the cut on your finger a bad one? Hope you got it bandaged up well.

Your dinner sounds comforting and filling.

We leave next week. A friend's daughter from church is coming to stay at the house and watch the dogs. My cousin called me on Monday to tell me that she and her daughter aren't going to be able to make it this year. There are good and bad reasons. The good is that her daughter just got a job as an EMT and the training starts that week. But, my cousin also has to have a biopsy due to an abnormal PAP smear more than a few times in the last couple of years. She also said finances have been tight so this is probably a better choice. We will all miss them though. Meg (the daughter) is an awesome kid. She is 21 (in between my girls). And Brenda loves to cook for all of us. Her husband said next year they will come as a family again. He didn't go last year. He isn't really a beach person.
