It's a cartoon character, with different toys and games.

Mr. Wig found a box of the toys in a filing cabinet at work and brought it home. There are pieces of track, and then bits and pieces (like Legos) to snap together to make trains, cargo, a station, bridges, etc.

Mom and I pulled everything out to see what all was there, and set up part of it on a table in the garage. We'll probably sell it at the garage sale.

Oh that is so cute!!! My girls used to watch the show on PBS. I didn't make the connection!

We have this near us: Strasburg Rail Road - Lancaster County, Pennsylvania They usually have a special time when Thomas comes to visit. We've been there several times. It is cool!

The only reason I know about it is because some friends' son watched the PBS show.

Thomas is very popular with the preschool set, I think. But Mom and I had fun putting some of it together.

Marylee's boyfriend is into trains. For their Christmas card, they posed in front of an old-fashioned engine somewhere.

After dinner, Dad and I planted a row of lettuce seeds in the garden.

I hope we get a good crop, and that the rabbits don't eat all of it before we get a chance to. LOL

Our lawn mower died. We need to hire a new one, I guess. We hired our house. You might hire a tent if you don't own one.

And you're telling me this because....????

I feel like I walked into the middle of a conversation! LOL

Petal was the name of a character in the book The Shipping News .

She was a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad person.

Great book though, and a decent movie (from what I remember).

How did I get 34 sets of Nesties, Shapeabilities, Borderabilities, etc?????

I didn't think I had a whole lot of these things (compared to some people I read about). But tonight I worked on an index for the binder I put them in, and when I counted them up I was like, cor blimey!

I'm missing the original packaging for just 3 sets (they may be around here somewhere). And I'm missing one small die--it is also around here somewhere. We found it on the floor when we ripped up the carpeting, and I threw it into whatever container was handy. It will show up eventually.

Found it! Writing about it made me remember which container I threw it in.

Now if I could just find my Miche black classic shell (purse). This is not a small item so I can't imagine where it's been hiding.

Miss I - I find I "need" a lot of things lately. I'm trying to cut back.

Carolina - I intend to send a card. Hopefully, I won't forget.

Lori - you are so funny.

Got to get a lot done today. I'm not feeling it.

I have cleaned the kitchen once, made ziti and meatloaf, cleaned the kitchen again, have two loads of laundry going, talked to my mom, packed up brownies, spinach casserole, meatloaf and ziti for the freezer. After I pick Julie up I will make choco chip cookies. THEN, I have two things to make for the youth group bake sale on Sunday. I'm picking easy things - almond bars and lemon poppyseed bread.

Of course, I picked the warmest, most humid day of the week (so far) to do this. Tomorrow is a rainy, warmer day so I will probably be glad I did all this today. Tomorrow I can sort through my clothes and switch out my winter/summer stuff. I think there is stuff I'll be getting rid of too. Not that I've lost any more weight, but things I haven't worn or don't care for anymore. I think I have a whole drawer of things that I was "thinking" about. That can all go.

Caro, love, glad to see you back. If I can get a card made I will send. I'll be praying for her. How sad.

Miss I, did it dry out there yet or is it still raining?

Jo Jo, how's your head doing this week? Headache free I hope!

Hedgie, I cracked up about the tiny men coming to help!

Granny, your grandkids are so adorable from the oldest to the youngest.

I had a long post typed up yesterday when things weren't posting. I think that's pretty much what it said. LOL!

My back hurts from my bed. Not sure what's up with that!

Have a good day Petals!

You've been quite the Martha Stewart today (except SHE has a staff to clean up HER kitchen ).

I told the folks over the weekend that I've had a hankering for meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Those are two things I never make for myself.

I sent a lot of clothes to Goodwill this spring. I had a bunch of sweaters, some 2-piece sweater sets, and a couple of turtlenecks that I haven't worn for 2-3 winters now. I'm sure I won't miss them by the time next winter comes around, and I can always buy something new if I do.

I WISH I had some of Martha Stewart's staff to clean up! I would also have more than one set of measuring cups, etc., etc.

When we vacationed with just my brother's family and the four of us, we had a good system. I would do most of the cooking and my SIL would do all the cleanup. I felt bad but she doesn't like to cook and doesn't so she said it worked out. Now that my cousin comes with us, she does most of the cooking (and shoos us out of the kitchen ) and we all help clean up. It gets dicey in the kitchen sometimes. The new house we're staying at this year has a smaller kitchen so we may have to make some changes.

I had friends in college (couple who ended up getting married). More often than not, the husband would cook, and the wife would clean up. She didn't mind at all; I think she actually preferred cleaning. This was even before they got married.

And, one time the husband confided that the wife makes a HUGE mess when she cooks, uses more pots and pans and utensils than are really required, so the husband would rather do the cooking than the clean-up. LOL

When the folks are here, Mom and I kinda take turns cooking. Our kitchen isn't that big, so it's not like we can have 2 people at the stove or oven at the same time. But the other person may act like a "sous chef" and chop up things, make the side dish, heat things in the microwave, etc., while the other one does the main dish. We almost always do the clean up together. I'll wash, Mom will dry, and it's all cleaned up in a jiffy.

Speaking of dinner...I'm making beef and noodles tonight, using leftover roast and broth from Sunday. Mr. Wig bought a HUGE roast so we had a lot of leftovers.

The story about these 3 missing women in Ohio (teens at the time they disappeared/abducted) is just -- I don't know --. I would say unreal, but apparently it happened so it's real. Maybe that means it's surreal??

It's sick, and it's creepy. Those poor girls and their families.

I can kind of see how this could happen, though. We've had new people move into our neighborhood, people who stick to themselves, keep their houses closed up. They could sneak someone into their house at night, stash them in the basement, and we'd never know it.

In fact, more than one of us in the neighborhood joked that the gal two doors up had probably been murdered and buried in the back yard, because she was renting rooms to some rather questionable-looking (and acting) characters and we would see them, but never her. It could happen. Scary.

I haven't heard too much about the girls from OH. I know they were found yesterday and all, but haven't listened to much of the news for more information. Julie was just telling me today that we don't know a lot of the newer neighbors. Of course, most of them have small children so they know each other. We have another house for sale - these our nice neighbors - our girls went to school with the son and daughter. They did a lot of great improvements on their house, too. Will be sorry to see them go.

Must have been on my feet too long today because now my back hurts. I still have one more baked item I want to do. I might do it after dinner to get it finished, but we'll see.

Still trying to get settled here. I haven't made anywhere near the progress I want when it comes to unpacking and getting organized. My garage is still overrun with boxes. At least five times a day someone will ask "do you know where ________ is?" My answer almost always is "in a box somewhere in the garage"

I can laugh about it now, but I almost lost my freaking mind last week. It was a seemingly never-ending string of problems.

I had hired a cleaning service to clean the old house on Friday (we had to be completely done and out by 6pm that night). The cleaning service called me late Thursday evening and canceled! No explanation, just "sorry, we can't do it". I panicked, then made some frantic phone calls until I found someone else. The timing and the price turned out to be better, so it was a good thing.

After work on Friday, we were scheduled to pick up a free rental truck from a storage place, so we could move some things there for the time being. We had to do it that night, because the items were in my mom's room, and she was moving in on Saturday. So Will and I met up at the storage place, took care of all the paperwork, and then he drove the rental truck and I drove my car home. We left his car there to drive home when we were done. We loaded up the truck pretty quick, and got ready to head back to the storage place to unload. Got everything unloaded with about two minutes to spare before the gates locked for the night. Walked out to the parking lot, and Will asked for the car keys. I laughed, thinking he was joking around. Nope, he had left his keys at home. So we were stuck! Called Kaiti, but she was out to dinner with some friends. Called Ben, but he was swimming at a friends house. Wound up calling a can to take us home to get the keys and then back again. The entire time this was going on, Becky was texting and calling Will incessantly, because she was at a friends house but they had an argument and she wanted to come home. ARGHHHH! The best part of this story? The next morning, I discovered that I had had my set of keys to his car in my purse the entire time! I NEVER have those keys with me unless I'm driving that car!

And, to complete the trifecta, when the movers showed up at my moms on Saturday morning, they were in their personal vehicle. Their scheduler had neglected to reserve a truck, and it took them over an hour to find one. They eventually did track one down, and the move went smoothly from there.

And now my mother is here. We're having some major boundary issues that will be addressed this weekend. She just needs to be reminded that she has her space, and we have ours, and she needs to respect that.

Scary.
Something similar happened around here a couple of years ago. A 9 year old girl was kidnapped in Lake Tahoe in 1991, and discovered living about 10 miles from here 18 years later. She had spent a great deal of that time living in a tent in the backyard. It was an almost unbelievable story. Just crazy.

OMG, Jo, I'm exhausted just from reading all about your baking and cooking! Your parents are so lucky to have you taking care of them like that!
