I might be a bit thick (means stupid in Liverpool slang) but can one of you lovely ladies tell me what BCBW stands for? I have been reading some of your posts here & thought you might like to hear what happened to me in a target store. It was my first visit to the US many years ago & my Dad asked me to bring him a "mag lite" back from my holiday (vacation to you) well after wandering around the store for over an hour, I asked an assistant where I could find one. They looked at me blankly and asked me what it was, I explained that it was a torch, when they still had a blank look, I said you know a battery operated light. Still a blank look it took nearly 15 minutes for us to decide I wanted a flashlight. Lol you would think we spoke 2 different languages. Since then about 8 visits later I can normally find the US word for what I am looking for, but I still have a chuckle about my "torch"
I know what a Mag Lite is! Have one right here. Most people here call them flashlights.
If you ask me for a torch, I'm going to assume you mean something with an open fire at the top that you use to chase after Frankenstein (pitchfork in other hand). LOL
BCBW = Bow Chicka Bow Wow. It's what we say in response to something sexy/hot, often in a teasing manner.
For example, Granny said, "It will just be the 2 of us here Thanksgiving,so I just bought a small ham and will make some potato salad. We will probably just make ham sandwiches."
I could quote just part of her post, "It will just be the 2 of us here Thanksgiving" and say, BCBW!
Natalie has seen it TWICE already! LOL! We never go to the movies, and she's been twice. Crazy. She went with friends on Friday then Phil took the girls on Sunday. I refuse to watch the series b/c the whole idea of what the capitol makes the kids do makes me sick. I'd have nightmares. Then Natalie goes into the speech, "It's so much more than that!" I know, but I'd still have nightmares. Heck, I'm reading a sweet Christmas book & there was a growling dog in it. So, I dreamed about a dog that was about to attack me! Grrrrr! Have fun watching the movie. Nat says it's VERY close to the book. She was trying to reread the book before the movie, but didn't get it done. She's finishing it now. Read all 3 last year. She loves the series.
You are much too impressionable.
So what is this series? Hunger Games stuff? I've heard about them in passing, but haven't paid much attention.
But to an old timer like me, it's kind of a play on words of the type of music played during bad 70s porn. (Not that I know anything about bad 70s porn. LOL. See additional definitions under link above.)
These are ARIAT Fatboy Saddle. They have Fatbaby Toes(rounded)Color is Russet Rebel.
I would love a RED pair!
Russet Rebel = fabulous name!
I used to have a pair of Ariat boots. GREAT brand. They were ankle "booties" with a flap that came over the top and snapped on the side. With a rounded toe. They were so comfortable. I bought them on one of my trips to D.C. and absolutely loved them. I had them about 10 years and eventually just wore them out.
I decided to brave the stores after dinner. I have some coupons that expire on Saturday and I was hoping the stores would be less crowded tonight than either Friday or Saturday.
The grocery store wasn't too bad, considering they close at 9:00 and won't be open tomorrow.
Wally World was jumping as usual but I survived.
How to tell you (meaning someone else, not me) are at Wally World too late: you need 2 carts because your kid is ASLEEP in one! Seriously. And the gal was buying hair color when I saw her. Maybe she wants to look nice when she sees all the relatives tomorrow. LOL.
I read all 3. I want to try to watch the first movie again before we go see this one.
It was so funny listening to Phil & Natalie. She said she was trying to read the first 2 books before seeing the new movie. He said, "Just watch the first one & go see the second one." He's very visual & not into reading fiction. WAtching, yes, but not reading. He reads news, etc. online. Natalie is an auditory learner, but I think reading is like listening (you hear it in your head as you read).
I am "one of THOSE"....LOL that will say it is not a movie about kids killing kids. It is much more but it is about kids killing kids just for a reason.
It sounds like the main issue is the political leaders taking over everything & forcing the kids to "play the games" ie killing each other, but the kids want to change that and change their society. I also hate movies where they have kids in them being kidnapped, those horrid screaming scenes, etc. I'm just super sensitive. I figure if Phil was okay with the girls watching it that it must be okay for them to watch.
