Washer and dryer guys are here!

They are really pondering this gas dryer hookup. The hookup is probably older than they are.

She'll say things like pick that baby up, it needs a nap, etc., ec. Like I said, this isn't a hysterical, annoying cry, just a kid being a little whiney. Sometimes moms just have to get something at the store with a whiney baby or not!

But annoying, loud toddlers and up is something totally different.
I think that's a large part of it, Jo Jo. By the time I was at Walmart, going on 9:00, the kids I'm talking about should have been home, having or had their bath, and getting ready for bed if not already in it.

I hope the parents have a good reason (or no other choice) but to take their little ones shopping at that time of night. Perhaps both parents (if there are 2 parents in the house) work, and the only time they can get to the store is after dinner. But when I see people at Walmart in the CRAFT aisle at MIDNIGHT with a 4 year old, my thought is they're just being bad parents, not shopping for something that's urgently needed. It's hard for me to have empathy at that point.

And I never did see any parents with the 2 boys who were playing with the 4 bouncy balls.

Washer and dryer are installed!

The guys were really nice. One was pretty quiet. The "lead" guy wasn't exactly talkative, but he was the one who pointed out a few things to us about the new washer. I think he was genuinely surprised when my mom gave them a tip. It wasn't much (just $10), but my guess is that they don't receive too many tips. She told him to "go buy yourselves a drink after work." LOL

And...the washer came with a Downy ball! Now we'll have 2, I guess. Or maybe I should mail the extra one to Loribelle.

You are right - no real excuse there. My girls were in bed by 8:30 and we stuck with that pretty tight. Friends would let their kids stay up till 11, take them out places, etc. I know everyone has a different parenting style, but it made it hard to make plans. We were ready to kick them out and they "didn't mind keeping their kids up". But mine did not handle it well. It was frustrating.

And my friend with six kids let all her kids stay up until 11 most nights. She wonders why she doesn't have a relationship with her husband, but really? When the kids are awake the whole time, when do you have time to talk, let alone do anything else? And I'm talking about when they were babies on up. I wondered how they managed to get the kids on a schedule for school - when they had to be up earlier.

Oh no kidding! It was probably a fight every day to get them out of bed and to school on time. Poor things were probably always short on sleep.

Mr. Wig is home. We want to get the back door back on so maybe we can test out the AC. CYL

I scrubbed until I almost scrubbed the paint off and it is still there.

1. Dryer had to be moved a little and re-leveled.
2. Table next to dryer moved back into place (it's a tight squeeze).
3. Washer moved slightly.
4. Cover over sump pump back into place.
5. Shelving unit with Mrs. Wig's paint supplies and lamp/lampshade collection pulled away from wall.
6. That wall and section of room completely vacuumed and dusted.
7. New shelving unit assembled, installed, leveled, and partially filled.
8. Table next to new shelving unit no longer needed; folded up.
9. Mom's paint shelves moved to where table used to be.
10. Back door re-installed.
11. Back screen door reassembled (had to remove the inside parts so that the door would swing open wider).
12. AC cover removed (outside unit) and AC hose hooked up (in laundry room, for condensation removal). Closed windows and started AC. (Mrs. Wig)
13. Front lawn mowed (Mr. Wig).
14. Dinner cooked (Daughter Wig).
15. Dinner eaten (all Wigs).
16. Dishes washed (Daughter Wig).
17. Showers and time to relax.
18. One load of wash to test new appliances.
19. Collapse briefly in living room before bedtime.

I have found that if someone else connects with the whining, annoying kid, they get very shy and scared. It's almost as if they think no one but mom is noticing the behavior. When someone else does, they get scared. GOOD!!!!!!!

Miss I - have fun at the art fair. And THANK YOU for the card. Always worth the wait.

No. I had trouble falling asleep last night (it was past 2:00 a.m., I know). I hope that means I do better tonight. I feel like I could take a nap right now, but I'm going to resist.

Back from the Art Fest. Oh my goodness, we saw lots of great things there! I especially liked several of the new artists who had mixed media/assemblage stuff. Right up my alley! Wish I had money to burn and some empty walls to hang art. LOL It was beautiful in the park in the shade, but pretty warm in the sun. I'm glad we turned on the AC yesterday.

We saw a few friends and relatives. Mrs. Wig saw a lady (stranger) wearing a pair of sport sandals that she liked. I asked the lady what brand they were (Keen) and where she got them (Scheels). We don't have Scheels here, but she told us Zappos and Brown's Shoe Fit carries them, and we do have a Brown's. We went there and they had some Keens, but not that particular style. I've since found them on Zappos. I'm thinking I might order a pair if Mom doesn't. I need a pair of flat sandals that have some support, but I'm having a hard time finding anything in a size 11.

We were going to go somewhere for lunch, but we decided to just come home and fix a sandwich. Dad has offered to get pizza for dinner.

I'm not surprised, Granny!

Poor Julie. Her fish seem to be stressed and she is concerned about them making it through the night. She is such a good kid and asks for so little. I hope everything is okay. She deserves better.

It's still not big enough to eat, though.
Let's just hope the rabbits don't find it.

Clearly time for bed. I thought you didn't want the RABBIS to find it. I was thinking lettuce should be kosher. OY VEZ!

Poor Julie. Her fish seem to be stressed and she is concerned about them making it through the night. She is such a good kid and asks for so little. I hope everything is okay. She deserves better.
You have such a tender Mommy heart! <3

So pretty! I would have been singing, "A horse is a horse of course of course...."

Any of you ever watched the British series, "Wild at Heart?" A British family moves to south Africa & starts an animal clinic. Dad is a vet. We're watching on Netflix. We're on the last season now. Glad the girls are older now b/c it's not always family friendly. Language, etc. But seeing Africa is so cool for us. Different from either Zaire or Kenya, but still cool!

Oh my..

Can't imagine what you would have thought of me if I had told you that I chased a RABBI out of the garden last night...

This was just part of one side. They were huge.

Anissa is going to check to see if they will let her do a photo shoot with the kids.
