It was empty. Seems to be a private home. It was in a neighborhood and a guy fishing on the beach said there was an old house on the lot that was torn down and this one built and no one ever moved it.

It is beginning to have that "no lived in" look.

There was no For Sale sign or any Foreclosure notice posted that we could see.

At first I thought it was a Hotel.

It looks like it could be a frat house. LOL. Or in our case, a sorority house. Better start playing the lottery so we can buy it!

It does look like there are a bunch of weeds growing along the front. That's too bad.

My folks are partying it up already. Today I tried calling Mrs. Wig about a phone call I got about renewing one of her prescriptions. She didn't answer her phone because they were up at the pool for free music and she didn't hear it ring.

How many times did my mom yell at my brother (the KISS fan), "TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN!" What goes around, comes around.

They've invited the softball gang over Wednesday afternoon for a get-together. It's kind of like happy hour, except it's BYOB, BYOC (chair), and BADTS (Bring a Dish To Share). lol

Speaking of spending:

I ordered the shoes from Zappos. I went with a pair that had 26 reviews and most of them said the shoes fit true to size, so I ordered an 11M. I hope they fit well so I don't have to go through the hassle of returning them. And also so I have a replacement for this other pair of shoes that just needs to go into the garbage. I've worn them too much to donate them to Goodwill.

I am no longer a 10.

Now I'm an 11.

EVENING!

Had to clean my last Thursday house today. Tired.

May have to invest in darker blinds for the bedroom with the time change.

Miss I....LOVED that your parents are having fun.

Lori....Praying this house goes tho you have pictures?

Hola!

Rainy day here. I voted, then ran some errands. The second pair of shoes came from Zappos and they fit like a glove. I'm going to wear them around the house a while before I make a final decision, but I'll probably keep them. They certainly fit better than anything I've tried on in the local stores. I may just have to put a heel pad in the right one (which is typical).

Hey Granny!

Maybe try a sleep mask? Or else start getting up with the chickens.

Evening.

I thought the "house" WAS a hotel. What a shame that it was built and no one lived in it. Such a waste.

Glad the shoes fit so well, Miss I. BONUS.

I have got to get some energy back. Lots to do around here. My cousin is coming for Thanksgiving and I need things to be organized and clean.

I have never used a mask but Lisa does. I may pick one up and see how it works. Cheaper than two blinds.

I called a local department store today and the lady answering the phone said, "Happy Holidays! Thank you for calling Von Maur; how may I help you?"

Kohl's is already playing Christmas music.

And it seems that Hallmark is going to show nothing but cheesy Christmas movies from the day after Halloween until -- ??? New Year's, probably.

It's too much, too early. I'll be sick of all this "joy" before Thanksgiving even gets here. LOL

That was my first thought, too, when you posted the pic.

Zappos for the win, again! I found out a few weeks ago that the daughter of a friend works for Zappos. I was actually slightly jealous

I don't think I could do the mask. I think I'd be way too aware of having "something" on my face all night.

I uttered an oath under my breath this morning when I got something at Starbucks and the chipper little barista girl said "happy holidays" while handing me my drink in a cup with freaking ornaments on it.

Sunday evening Becky began complaining that her tooth hurt. By yesterday afternoon, she was flipping out because it was "killing" her and she was afraid she had a cavity or the dentist would have to pull it or...who knows. Full-on teenage girl drama. So I took a couple of hours off this morning to take her to the dentist. Diagnosis, after exam and xrays: she has a canker sore. Arghh. But, we now have an expensive balloon courtesy of the dentist

Kristi - I'm sorry - I laughed at the diagnosis. Sorry for the expense!!!!

I managed to do two loads of laundry, iron everything that was in the basket (I'm sure there will be more when I finish the laundry) and sorted socks (one of my least favorite jobs). I still have several baskets sitting next to me that need to be folded, but my bedroom is just a little neater.

Oh my goodness! Has the kid never had a canker sore before? They're pretty obvious if you just look in your mouth. We always had a bottle of Campho Phenique in the medicine cabinet (in fact, I still do!).

Hope that balloon lasts a looooooooong time.

I've heard that retailers are worried about this holiday season not being a good one, so I think they're pulling out all stops to get people into the mood to spend money.

I ain't falling for it. lol

Busy day today. I *finally* got my hair cut. I told her to take off a good 2 inches. I'll get my highlights done next week. And that may be the last time I go to this stylist. I do not like her new location (the Cost Cutters inside Walmart). They don't take appointments for haircuts and I waited over 30 minutes today. Talk about a waste of time.

I took 2 pairs of jeans to a tailor. One pair will be shortened, the other lengthened. It is much cheaper to have pants shortened, so from now on I am only going to buy talls and if needed, have them altered.

And then I went to the department store about getting a watch battery. The gal couldn't get the back off so I had to leave it for their "house jeweler" to deal with. This means another trip across town next week when I already have tons to do before my trip. But the charge is supposed to be only $6 and I know the watch repair shop would charge at least $15 (and it's on the other side of town too so I'm not saving any time by going there).

And that's how you blow almost an entire afternoon on just 3 errands!

I think it's going to be scrambled eggs and toast for dinner. I also have some sausage already cooked up that I was going to save for a pizza, but scrambled eggs don't take as long to cook.

I hate laundry. I don't mind the washing and drying so much as sorting and folding and putting away afterward.

Apparently not. And she whined about how much it hurt whenever Will tried to look in her mouth. I'm kind of glad it happened, though. It opened his eyes a bit to just how overly dramatic and, quite honestly, manipulative she can be. The joys of teenage girls.

I thought the stop at the tailor would take the longest, but it hardly took any time at all and that included trying on 2 pairs of jeans with 3 different pairs of shoes. LOL

And it's nice that her shop is not that far from home. I get so tired of always having to drive all the way across town for stuff. I sincerely hope that the developers who want to redo the mall on our side of town are able to pull it off. We're hoping that will attract more stores over here.

You've already been through it with Katie, so you can school him.

On the bright side, at least it wasn't something requiring several hundred dollars of dental work.

Spaghetti is good. And fairly quick.

I made myself an "omelet" with 2 eggs, crumbled sausage, and cheddar cheese. Then I garnished it with some salsa and sour cream. It hit the spot!

My issue with laundry is: I have so many things that I either line dry or dry flat. If everything could go straight into the dryer and stay there until fully dry, the process would be a lot simpler.

At least I don't have as much dry cleaning as I used to. GAWD! That became expensive -- AND meant another errand. LOL

I don't mind folding - most of the time. But when I give the clothes to the girls I want them out of the way. Put away. Julie usually does. Marie does not. I'm always reminding her and, of course, then I'm the bad guy. I should say that Marie usually does her own laundry. I just happen to have some of her shirts in with my batch that I did. They are still waiting to be put away.

We hardly ever go to the dry cleaner any more. And they are neighbors of ours! Bill doesn't have to wear suits much (maybe a few times a year) and since I'm not working any more, I rarely have anything.
