Do you all think they'll award me my own splitcoast moniker posthumously? There is no way I'll make it in this lifetime!

Jean, you'll get there! I think you'll be around a long, long time!

Jacq, lots of luck for a quick sale at a great price!

I am doing taxes. I am a procrastinator at heart. Getting back a whopping $133 from the feds. Got to tackle state next, where I am hoping for similar or better results.

I made grapefruit martinis the other night to drink while watching Mad Men. I had a grapefruit that needed using and I really prefer them with alcohol!

Ok, back to my taxes now.

We had to pay A LOT this year. Thank you Obama, for taxing Social Security. There's an oxymoron for you.

Oxymoron: Thank you Obama...MORON being the operative word here.

We owe Federal too...getting back a little bit from state. I don't mind paying a little at the end of the year...it's better than letting the goveernment use my money all year interest free.

Shaving cream BURNS your eyes...ask me how I know! Ugh.

On my way to the country club for my luncheon. Ciao dah-lings!

Thank Goodness, so far, our state has messed up so many elections, there is no way they could get talent to oversee a state income tax! When we started the lottery they had to recruit out of state!

We finally got a "state education" lottery here a few years ago and the schools are still grossly underfunded. Makes you wonder what some of these government workers actually do!

So, while I was walking Piper yesterday she discovered what she deemed to be a tasty morsel in the bushes. Before I could get it from her, she clamped down and ate it. I have NO idea what it was...could have been a piece of meat, rotten fruit, or a dead bird for all I know. Needless to say, she ended up with a belly ache. We woke up this morning to a pile of poo in the living room. Joe took her out and she went again.

I was taking a shower and was getting ready to shave my legs. The shave gel nozzle must have been clogged so when I squirted it on my let, it shot back directly in my eye and all over the shower door. Thank goodness I hadn't put my contacts in yet...had to wash my eyes out for a few minutes. It burns!!!

Proceeded to get dressed...lovely floral print skirt, pretty purple top and high heeled sandals. Come out of the bedroom to leave for work but behold! Another pile of dog cr@p in the living room. Ugh! Ended up having to clean that up before I left.

Left work at 11:00 to meet Kelly for our luncheon. We got to the country club and noticed there weren't many cars there. Last year it was packed and we had to look for a spot to park. She looked at the invitations and realized the luncheon is actually tomorrow! It's always been on Wednesday. Now it's Thursday. We ended up heading to the beach and had a great lunch dockside at the marina. Had a couple of margaritas and fun talking. Now, I have to figure out how to get out of work early again tomorrow.

This has been a crazy day.

Oh, forgot to mention...came home to yet another pile of cr@p on the carpet. Man, what the h€ll did she eat anyway??!!!

Someone pointed out to me, so I thought I would share here - looks like Lydia and the SCS crew have given us a "like" button so we can just like posts a la Facebook.

Might make it harder to get to 20,000k if you don't even have to respond to posts anymore and can just "like" them!

Yep, busy around here. So sad about Boston. I spent part of my day yesterday trying to track down local runners in the marathon, and checking on my cousin who lives in the city. Such a heartbreaking event.

Not much else going around here. I am waiting on tiny tax refunds from the state and feds, so that is good news. I think last year I got money back from one but had to turn around and right a check for nearly the same amount to the other.

I am also taking a digital scrapbooking class - the third of three digital classes I won in a giveaway last year. I actually never finished the second class - timing was bad - but I hope to go back and finish it eventually. I ordered the first 20 digital scrap pages I've made and they should be here this week. That is more scrap pages than I made all last year, I think, so I am doing well on that front. Learning new stuff in Photoshop, too, so that is good.

Ok, best get busy. I am working a late shift tonight and need to get moving so I can get to work on time!

Hello all! Fighting off an allergy attack here. Darn that oak pollen! The weather is summer-like here. In the high 80's every day. I have absolutely nothing interesting to report here. Hope everyone is happy and well.

Hello again! Today I got an order from Gina K. I got some stamp pairs, some patterned paper and matching cardstock packs. I have never ordered patterned paper from Gina K. before. It's pretty, but I did not expect it to be glossy.

interesting, Pat. I have never used any of Gina's patterned papers. I have some of her cardstock and really like it.

I spent the afternoon running errands - common weekend activity for me! I picked up some pots and dirt and plan to do little patio gardening tomorrow. I have some plants that need replanting and a couple others that need tending to.

Not much else exciting around here. I have a bit of a headache so planning a quiet night.

Hello girls! I spent the afternoon at a food/wine/beer fest that is a benefit for the local schools. It was a lovely afternoon and they had a fun Jimmy Buffett tribute band as the headliner. I am now full from tasting lots of mac and cheese and beer!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Can't believe it is almost May already.

And while I am here, a confession. I am in a terrible stamping slump. I haven't even finished making simple thank you cards from my birthday, which was almost 6 weeks ago. And I need to make some Mom's Day and birthday cards, and start rebuilding my stash. Anybody got a challenge or bit of inspiration to get me going?

Why doesn't our school system do a fund-raiser like that???

When I need a spark I look through my paper. I have the most beautiful paper and once I look at it I can't wait to use it.

Here's a challenge, Mish. I need a spark, too. Let's do a card for each color of the rainbow. It can be a tint of the shade. Example: Red can be pink, or rose. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple. Does it work for you? I'll try.

Took a little trip for the last few days. It was what M asked for for his birthday. We went to Cordele, Americus, Plains, GA area. Rode on the SAM shortline railroad, went to Andersonville Prison site, went to Jimmy Carter's boyhood farm, drove past his current house, stopped in Plains. Tried to go to Westville, an 1850s historic village but it was closed. We went to Providence canyon instead. I didn't hike in but walked around the rim for a bit. Wasn't the grand canyon but interesting being in Georgia clay. Had the absolute best ice cream I've ever eaten in my life--Richelle's in Americus--Milky Way. Sooooooo gooooood.

OK, Jean, I am in. I will see what I come up with!
Glad you had a fun trip, too. And now I want ice cream.

In other news, the last card I made was a couple weeks ago; I was asked to provide a sample for the new Christmas Card challenge in the Dirty Dozen/Fan Club forum. If you're a Fan Club member and want to play along, the challenge is here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=49490

I didn't mean to combine all the colors, unless you want to. I just meant start with a red card, then a yellow card, etc. Clear as mud, huh?

I figured that's what you meant! I haven't started on my cards yet. My home computer has been behaving poorly since yesterday and I am trying to figure out what its problem is. I did not need that particular hassle right now, but what can you do?

Also, here's the actual link to the Christmas card challenge:

Just realized I had posted a link to my card and not to the challenge. Sorry 'bout that.

I have a challenge idea too...do you have anything new? Stamps, paper, etc. Ink 'em up! I've got a bunch of stuff I haven't used yet so I'm challenging myself to use them...I've got another box of goodies from MFT sitting on my desk now that I haven't opened yet. But in my defense it just came today and I had to get dinner ready so I haven't had a chance yet to admire my new purchases. I have no excuse for not using the stuff I bought last month.

We had an open house Saturday...had a good turnout but no offers yet. We're hopeful that we'll sell it but in no hurry, especially with pool season right around the corner (if it ever warms up)!

I'll have to check out your link Mish...I bet it's great.

I swear I posted something earlier, but I don't see it, so I guess I will post again!
The ard drive on my computer is fried I am having it fixed, though sadly the warranty just ran out a couple months ago. Also looking for a new place to live - long story, of which the short answer is my current place is having continual problems and the landlords don't want to do anything about it. Anyway, if I'm scarce for a bit, that is the reason!
Hope you're all doing well.

That sucks Michelle. Hope you find a nice place and get your computer up soon. Hugs to you!!!
