Denise, one more semester. Let that be your mantra. Gia will be come through this in good order. Make your appointment with the principal now to discuss next year's assignment as he/she needs to know that you cannot do this two years in a row. Tell him/her that this has driven you to bootleg whiskey!!!!!! Of course, then they'll show up on your doorstep. . .

Okay, what's going on? When Jacquie gets quiet, something is amiss. I can feel it in my buns. What is everybody up to?

Hmmm. Well, I hope her eye is better. I'm a little concerned now that she is not here.

Maybe a relaxing hobby for Gia, D? Like crocheting or needlepoint or something. Something mindless to help her relax?

Hello everyone! I had ice on my car last Friday morning. Unusual in Florida. Now, it's a little chilly in the morning, but it warms up in the afternoon. I think they're predicting 80 tomorrow.

Busy at school. I tutor on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons until 4. Our teachers do this to help prepare our 3rd - 5th graders for the state tests coming up in the spring.

I finally got a Smart Board in my classroom. It's fun!

Hope Jacq's OK!
Pat, yay for a smart board!
Hi everyone else! Keeping busy around here, as usual. Booked a trip to Oregon in March for my birthday - yay! Have some stamping projects I should tackle but I confess I haven't been very inspired lately. I did manage to make two cards during the mini VSN last weekend, though. I'm also taking a Jessica Sprague photo editing class, which is taking up some time. I'm learning quite a bit, though.
Ok, best get back to work. Have a good rest of the week, everyone.

I like Jessica Sprague's classes, too, Michelle. That's how I learned Photoshop (what little I know) and I like that I can go back and rewatch things I forget (which these days is just about everything!). Hooray for your upcoming trip home!

May have mentioned I won these classes in a giveaway; this is the second of three. The last one is in March. The first one was all about Project Life scrapbooking. This one is photo editing. I think the last one is photoshop for digital scrapbooking. I am learning a lot, and knowing more about photo editing can also help my resume. Here's a couple of my digi projects - a photo that's been transformed and a Project Life digi page. I like Project Life because it's a great way to scap the everyday photos I take with my phone. Not sure how long I'll keep it up, but a page a week seems pretty reasonable so far and that way I remember the stuff I'm learning!

I'm here....my eye is better - still putting in drops and wearing my glasses but it's cleared.

Don't want to be a Debbie downer. I've just been a bit disenchanted lately and have been giving serious thought to alot of things. No one thing in particular; it's a culmination of various things. I will say though I'm very, very close to reaching my breaking point (I'm sure you can fill in a few blanks) and have just really had enough. *sigh* I just don't see myself being happy if things continue to go forward with the way they've been.

Michelle - sounds like you've got some exciting things coming up. I've seen those project life pages around but didn't really understand what they were about. I like the page you've done and now, I get it.

Cool beans Pat with your smart board. I'm assuming it's a 21st century chalkboard. Most kids today probably don't even know the sound of the chalk (or fingernails) screeching on the blackboard.

Denise - Glad to hear your trip was a fun one. Enjoy that moonshine (if there's any left).

Jean - thanks for having my back and looking out for me. You're the best!

((((HUGS)))) Jacq! I'm sorry things have been rough for you. Hang in there, friend! And if you need to be Debbie Downer, go for it. That's what we're here for.

Hey Jacq. See, I knew something was wrong. I hear you and I think you need a break. Maybe take the weekend off and go up to your mom's alone. Or head here. Train runs to Orlando. Flights? It may be time for a little Jacquie/Joe time alone, too. Go clear your head so you can think.
Hey, Mish. Hey, Pat. Hey, D. Hey Paula. Hey Lee, if you're still lurking out there. Happy Birthday, Karo. Maybe we need to get a girls weekend together soon. Even if it's virtual.

Mish, pic of Pacific City is fantastic editing work! Wow. I also like your page with the crock pot! The design is wonderful. Sounds like you are having fun.

I agree with Michelle, Jacq. We don't mind lending an ear. A getaway might be just the thing. So glad to hear your eyes are better.

My Smartboard is like a giant touchscreen monitor. I have a doc camera hooked to it too. It comes with cool software so you can make your own interactve activites. There are also lots out there to buy. One of my favorite things to do is project Kindle books. For our digital native kids it's perfect.

I haven't made a single Valentine yet. I think I'd better get going.
Love yor projects, Michelle!

Don't worry, Jean! Just busy around here. Not much stamping lately; I managed just one Valentine. I was gone all day Sunday at book club and had a full weekend of other stuff going on, as well.
And while my colleagues have been on the trail of a crazy man the last few days, I've been hanging out with baby animals at the local high school ag center. Thought these pics might cheer you up!

Cute pix, Michelle!

Well, I got my Valentines done in time! Yay! Busy here too. We had a record high today of 88! In February! Eeeekkk! On Sunday it will be in the 30's. Florida winter.

Happy Valentine's Day Loveys

So, I've regrouped a little. Here's a little update:

We're meeting with a local realtor tomorrow to list our condo (my Dad is an hour away and in another county so it's hard for him to be as actively
involved as he needs to be). I want to be out of here by summer.

HOA elections are next month - I originally had no intentions of running again, but now I may, just to keep the positive flow going. Won't be president this time around because I need to focus my time & energy elsewhere.

Court date set for mid March - attorney made motion to show just cause - Joe's ex will have to explain to the judge why she's been in contempt of the custody agreement and keeping the kids from visiting their father when they're supposed to.

Piper had been back and forth to the vet at least six times in Nov-Dec for various things (coughing/collapsing trachea, **** glands, annual shots, check up, etc.). She had also become very lazy, didn't want to go for walks, wouldn't jump up on couch, gained weight, etc. Vet did a T4 test and discovered her thyroid was out of whack. She's now on medication and doing great. She lost a half a pound and is back to her old playful, energetic self. She needs to continue on the meds and will be fine.

On a crafty note, I've been accumulating lots of goodies - I guess I thought buying new things would make me feel better. It did but I haven't even had the time to use half the stuff yet. My preference these days is MFT and 6x6 DSP pads...I'm getting quite the collection. I've been slacking in my 4-scrapbook-pages-a-month goal. Guess I need to get moving.

Thanks you all for your concern and thoughts - things will level out.

Happy Valentine's Day, sweets!

Jacq, sounds like you have a good plan to keep you going forward. That usually helps me when I am feeling stressed and overwhelmed. I'll think good thoughts for you!

I'm working late tonight - nothing like spending your Valentine's Day at a school board meeting. It's been a busy week at work; I'm glad there's a holiday coming up on Monday - even if I have to work, nobody else does so maybe I can catch up on some stuff!

Eek, Michelle! Valentines Day at a school board meeting?

Sounds like you are getting it all together, Jacqueline. I love the little paper pads too! Easier to store and the designs are more in scale for cards.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Don't you make fun of me. 33 degrees when I woke up this morning. I laughed at the LA folks when we were there in January complaining about the cold (It was in the high 30s and 40s) and I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry. I will never laugh at you again, oh beautiful ones. I live in FL for a reason and this isn't it. So what is everyone up to this wintry day. . .in a cold, dark December, well, February. I just felt a song coming on when I wrote that. Off to work on a project for the CC now. Pat's brother is having some pretty complicated surgery Tuesday on his spine. If you all want to make someone's day, send some cards to Pete Case. It would tickle him.

I know exactly what you mean, Jean!!! Fortunately, we've had sunny and WARM temps lately. But we're due for a bit of rain by mid-week, so winter is obviously still lurking.

I made a few cards for the SCS Member Co. Love Fest this weekend. I'm headed to a friend's house later to probably make some more cards, so maybe I can get one made for Pat's brother. Same address as Pat?

Not much else going on around here. It's been a pretty lazy weekend. I have to work tomorrow, but since everything else is closed, I'm hoping for a quiet day where I can catch up a bit. We'll see!

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.

Yes, same address, Michelle. Thanks.

It's only 50 here at almost 1 pm. It's supposed to be a toasty 55 later. Brrr! We have a fire in the fireplace.

Yes, Michelle, the 1629 Gran Via one. Cool!

I hope you get a lot of good play time in today. I slept yesterday away so I'm raring to go. I've been reading Mystic River. It's graphic, gruesome at times, crass most of the time, and intense but I have to say, I can't put it down!! This writer has a real talent. Some of the best writing I've read in modern fiction. Have you read it? I giggle at myself because I wouldn't even watch the movie when it was nominated for an oscar because it looked so intense!!!!

That looks like so much fun, Jean! I am so impressed with how clean and tidy that space is. Most pottery studios are messy!

Ha! That makes me feel better! Would love to see some of his completed work sometime. Pottery - especially on a wheel - is one of those things I've always wanted to do but just haven't had the opportunity.

Enjoy them! My only advice - don't skimp on the chocolate. And don't worry if you burn your marshmallows - that black stuff just enhances the flavor!

Well, now I've had a s'more. My mom, who is 90, saw the ingredients and couldn't wait. She said she made them when she was a girl scout. I think they would be better with regular size marshmallows. The giant ones get crunchy on the outside, but not very soft on the inside.
