Sounds wonderful, Michelle. Cooler right about now would be nice . . . it was 113 here today. I went to lunch with a friend and then shopped a bit - then came home and took a two hour nap. I guess there's no happy medium . . . one of these days I'll be content. LOL

Yay! I'm so glad this worked out for you - I'm kind of excited about it myself. Who needs 240 yds. of one color of baker's twine? LOL Don't answer that.

I have an update on the twine share. Here's the number of spots left for each color:

Maraschino (Red & White) 2 spots left
Mandarin (Orange & White) 3 spots left
Lemon Drop (Yellow & White) 2 spots left
Peapod (Green & White) 2 spots left
Lilac (Purple & White) 2 spots left
Cappuccino (Brown & White) 2 spots left
Caribbean (Teal & White) 2 spots left
Pink Sorbet (Bright Pink & White) 2 spots left

DIVINE TWINE:

Aqua (Light Turquoise & White) 1 spot left
Green Apple (Lime Green & White) 2 spots left
Lemon (Light Yellow & White) 3 spots left
Orange (Light Orange & White) 2 spots left
Licorice (Black & White) FULL - * see below for more info
Cotton Candy (Light Pink & White) 2 spots left
Oyster (Grey & White) 4 spots left
Cherry (Red & White) 3 spots left

Okay, so as you can see the Licorice (Black & White) is full. I will run a waiting list and if we have enough additional peeps that want Licorice, I'll buy another roll. So continue to let me know if you want Licorice, but know that we'll have to make a judgment call when everyone has signed up and the share is finalized. Okay?

I think I'm still waiting to hear from Paula L., her RL friend (is that real life? LOL). Oh Miss Paula, where are you sweet girl?!!

Okay, here's the latest. There are a few spots left, if Denise still wants in. Haven't heard from her - is she at the shore? Probably hanging out with Snookie and the Sitch (Situation, for those non-MTV lovers - LOL!). If you all don't mind, I'm going to offer it up to my DT peeps, and a few RL friends (I have some, too, Paula!! LOL). But if someone things Denise might want in, do we have a way of getting ahold of her? What about Jacqueline? I'll send them a PM and see if they get them before I offer it to friends. If there are one or two spots left, I'll just add those to my total - no worries.

Maraschino (Red & White) 1 spot left
Mandarin (Orange & White) 2 spots left
Lemon Drop (Yellow & White) 2 spots left
Peapod (Green & White) 1 spot left
Lilac (Purple & White) 1 spot left
Cappuccino (Brown & White) 1 spot left
Caribbean (Teal & White) 1 spot left
Pink Sorbet (Bright Pink & White) 2 spots left

DIVINE TWINE:

Aqua (Light Turquoise & White) FULL
Green Apple (Lime Green & White) 1 spot left
Lemon (Light Yellow & White) 1 spot left
Orange (Light Orange & White) 2 spots left
Licorice (Black & White) FULL - * see below for more info (Paula L. on the WL or Oyster)
Cotton Candy (Light Pink & White) FULL
Oyster (Grey & White) 3(2) spots left (see Licorice above)
Cherry (Red & White) 2 spots left

Same rule applies to the other full colors - if we get more peeps that want those colors, we'll add them to a waiting list and make a decision about buying another roll when we're all done.

Ok...now for everything else:

CUPCAKES--- yum, Mish!

Traveling stamps--- can't wait!

Bugs--- yuk

hard to keep up here! CAS thread and RESQ are taking up a lot of time for me but now that my kids are on their way to Florida for 12 days (YIKES) I have some time! I have been laying on the sofa all day today watching lifetime movies. Tomorrow I have some closets to clean out (including my craft space) and I plan on stamping some of the DTGD challenges.

It's so wierdly quiet in my house...

PS I haven't been away from my kids for more than ONE night EVER!!!!

Got you down, Denise! So glad you were able to get in on this! It's great stuff. The Twinery is a bit brighter than the Divine Twine, but they're both great quality. Somewhat similar to the PTI stuff, but a brighter white.

I'll let you know when I'm ready for payment - I can send out PayPal invoices or you can send a check, but we'll worry about that later. I want to have the stuff in my hands before I have you send money. Got the shipping confirmation from The Twinery this morning.

Enjoy your quiet time, Denise! I'm sure your kids will have a great time with grandma and grandpa, and you'll find that after the first couple of days you'll get very used to the quiet. And you'll probably get a lot done! LOL

Archer's pictures were on a local tv show today. It was something about summer in Houston and they used a picture of him on a swing and then drinking from a water hose for their commercial tease. My mom's gonna flip with excitement.

lol! They are tired of all the photos they have on the wall at the station so they're having an employee contest (ie - way to get free photos) and Jeff gave them a few. I guess they think they own them now and can do whatever.

It was these two.

Those are wonderful photos, Paula!
Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great day. I had a super busy day at work but I'm home now and planning to stamp the evening away. I need to get some dare to get dirty challenges done tonight if I have any hope at all of completing all the challenges! I can stay up late, though, since I go into work late tomorrow. Yay!

Hi everyone! Thanks again, Karolyn, for the twining. The champagne tasting sounds like so much fun, Michelle. Archer's pix are so sweet, Paula. Hi Lee! I bet you'll learn to enjoy the peace and quiet, Denise.

I had a busy day today. First I had a math training, then I went to lunch with some teachers from my school. Then I got my reading glasses repaired and shopped a little. Then I picked up my brother and he and my mom and I went out to dinner and then on to my BIL's birthday party. When I got home (around 9) I found that my stamp order from Impression Obsession and Stamping Bella had arrived today. Thirty new stamps!! Woo hoo! Hey, I also got one of those Mega Mount rocking background stamp mounts. Does anyone else have one? I can't wait to try it tomorrow. Well, I'm tired after my busy day. "See" you tomorrow.

I had one Pat. I don't want to say how I felt about it because I don't want to color your opinion. What's right for some isn't always right for others, KWIM? I'd be interested to know what you think of it though after you work with it a bit. Sounds like you had a great day.

Great Pics of Archer, Paula!

Hello Everyone. We're going to have to come up with a second name with the Twine Exchange--besides SOTTS! Great of you to do this for us, Karo.

ROTFL.

I tried out my new Mega Mount rocker thingy this morning. First of all, let me say, I have a terrible time getting an even consistent image with a wood mounted background stamp. Even getting them inked evenly is a challenge for me! And storing all those giant blocks...! So I decided to buy cling mounted background stamps. Easier to store, a little easier to ink evenly (I don't know why) but still hard to stamp with. So when Impression Obsession had their Mega Mount rockers on sale, I decided to try one. I played around with different techniques to find one that worked for me. At first I thought I should rock the stamp from top to bottom. I guess because of the portrait orientation. But I found that if I stand up, rock the stamp from left to right, and apply a little pressure as I rock I got an even consistent print every time. I tried every one of my cling backgrounds and they all came out great using this technique. Then I was faced with the daunting task of cleaning them all. I opted for throwing them in a sinkful of sudsy water, rinsing them, and laying them out on towels to dry. It appears that the Mega Mount rocker has solved my background stamping problems.

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday.

Yay! So glad it all worked out for you. Of course, it never occurred to me to rock from side to side . . . which is why I no longer own my IO rocker block. Duh!! LOL Someday, I want to be just as smart as you are, Pat! Hahaha. I'm pretty sure I sold the darned thing at my spring garage sale for like $1. Ugh! Oh well.

What's going on croutons? Sorry for the delay - I just got back on the red-eye this morning and am getting around to checking e-mails, posts, etc. I took a nap until 1:30 then went to pick up Christopher from Grandma's (to surprise him). We stopped for ice cream on the way home and the grocery store. Joe was "home" by the time we got back, I made dinner, straightened up, took the dogs for a walk (yes, dogS - Sammy is here for the week). All on 3.5 hours of sleep within the past 24. Whew, I'm gonna sleep good tonight!

Anyway - I hope I didn't hold you up Karo. If I can still get in on your "string sale", I will take the following please:

THE TWINERY:

Maraschino (Red & White) FULL
Mandarin (Orange & White) 1 spot left JACQ
Lemon Drop (Yellow & White) 1 spot left JACQ
Peapod (Green & White) FULL
Lilac (Purple & White) FULL
Cappuccino (Brown & White) FULL
Caribbean (Teal & White) FULL
Pink Sorbet (Bright Pink & White) 1 spot left JACQ

DIVINE TWINE:

Aqua (Light Turquoise & White) FULL + 1
Green Apple (Lime Green & White) 1 spot left JACQ
Lemon (Light Yellow & White) 1 spot left
Orange (Light Orange & White) 2 spots left
Licorice (Black & White) FULL + 2 JACQ
Cotton Candy (Light Pink & White) FULL
Oyster (Grey & White) 2(1) spots left (Paula L.?)
Cherry (Red & White) 1 spot left

On another note, if y'all want to send me your HOMETOWN city info (along with your name), I will put together a schedule to begin next week. We'll do one hometown story & challenge each day for as long as it takes to get through the list. Then, we'll have a week from the last posting to get our challenges completed and posted. Let's plan to include links and interesting facts about our hometowns. If you didn't participate in our European Tour, take a look at it to see how we presented our information. Lots of fun. If anyone wants to do more than one let me know as well. (i.e. I am originally from Buffalo, NY and lived there for 20 years but have been living in Wilmington, NC for 15 so I could do either - maybe both).

Denver was ok - the babies are adorable - very interactive and LOTS of fun! Will post pics when I get them downloaded. I am glad to be back. I missed Joe tremendously! I always feel "off" not being in my routine...Note to self: NO babies!!

hi everyone!

Archer is just too cute...made me miss my munchkins a bit....but I am still savoring the quiet. Joe made an arrest last night so he didn't make it home until 6pm...I got alot accomplished to day! I stripped all the beds and washed all the sheets, blankets, mattress covers, curtains and anything else that wasn't nailed down! Then I proceeded to do a bunch of DTGD challenges (I combined a bunch) and watched 2 lifetime movies.
Not too bad! Tomorrow I have 2 closets on the agenda to get cleaned out.

What's up with the hometown thing? Is there another thread for it?

I feel like I miss so much here when I go AWOL!
