Great invites D! I want dibs on the netting too! I'm glad you got the CS - I was going to send you some but couldn't do so until Monday.

You were teaching 5th Pat, weren't you? I think 2nd grade would be SO much more fun. Christopher just finished 2nd grade and loved it. They're still cute at that age. I'm digging your CB folders too. So fun getting new stuff. I've been buying tons of scrapbook stuff lately and have a bunch of pics to scrap so I'm going to try to move that along this summer. I'm also totally hooked on the little DSP pads for cards and keep acquiring them. Only problem is I don't want to use them because then they'll be gone! I'm getting better though.

I'm officially a mom for the next 2 weeks - Christopher is with us for the start of summer break. We took Piper to get her hair cut this morning and then to Paint & Play. It's a ceramics studio where Chris painted a coffee mug for Joe for Father's Day. I have to pick it up Friday afternoon after it's fired. We painted a smile face in the bottom of the mug so when Joe drinks all the coffee it'll be smiling at him.

Diane - I'm assuming the baby coming from Ethiopia is an adoption? How old? I have a sister adopted from S. Korea. She was 7 mos. old when we got her. Now, she's 33 and has twin baby girls. I've always wanted to adopt but babies just haven't been in my cards. I got married last summer and acquired an instant family with my husbands 2 boys (8 and 12) so I get to be a pseudo-mom at least.

Sorry to hear you've been feeling yucky Michelle but glad you're doing better. Have a safe, fun trip.

Hi Lee! Hi Jean! Hi Alison! Hi Paula!

Hi! We have a top name choice now, Ruby Irene. We're not settled, but this is the top pick for now. Archer had a cystic fibrosis sweat test yesterday because he's been having some bowel issues and they want to rule this out. I didn't realize CF could mess up your pancreas as well as your lungs. Should get the results back Monday. What else? Oh, we're getting a 2009 Toyota Sienna since you can't fit 3 car seats in my car. We pick it up Thursday, I think? Still have to sell the Rav4. Hoping we break even on it. No news past that. Just hot here!
I am woefully behind on my card sending (and making) but I'm going to do my best to get everything in the mail and caught up on Monday! So sorry!

Love the invitation, Denise! And your neice is adorable, if I forgot to mention that.

Pat, glad the 2nd grade switch sounds like a good idea. 2nd graders sound like more fun to me. Fabulous cb folders!

Congrats on all the grandbabies, Diane!

Hi to everyone!

Pat, those cuttlebug folders are great! I have not seen those online or in stores and I just hit Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

Got the prettiest card with the nicest sentiment and note inside from Mish today. The pink and grays were so pretty! Thanks, Mish. You reminded me that I need to get one in the mail here soon, too (to Texas--hint, hint).

Hey all - life continues to be crazy here. My oldest daughter graduated from high school and a few days later left to fly out to Tucson, AZ to live. Her car left on a truck yesterday (she paid to have it shipped out) I haven't had much time to make any cards, and I know I am behind on my card exchange - HOWEVER, things are looking up - I NOW have a craft room (of course, I had to 'lose' my daughter to get it - but it is nearing completion - everything is up there but a table to work on, so I just need to figure out what I want to do there. Hoping to get some time to craft this week - especially with a lighter schedule at work. Our anniversary is next weekend, so we are hoping to do something for the weekend. The kids are going to stay with a family friend, so that will help so that L and I can get away, or just stay home (boring!!)

Wow! It was 100 degrees here all afternoon. About 6:45 it started raining and now it's about 90. We need the rain so much! Our grass is crunchy.

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA lately but maybe things will settle down now that school is done!

Popping in to say thank you Denise for the card! That means I am behind again -eek! I will have to find some time to fix that problem this weekend.

Lots going on here, with AJ finishing drivers Ed and me starting an earlier shift (6:30 am). Supposedly I get off at 3, yeah we'll see how that goes!

Not sure that I mentioned it, but Tony got a new position a few months ago, same company and not a choice on his part - kinda "we just laid off a bunch of people be happy you have a job" new job. He isn't too happy with it, though things are getting better. We just keep praying something else will come along sooner rather than later.

Have a good night you all!

Jacqueline...yes, the Ethiopian baby is an adoption. They are in the queue for 12 months and under, a boy, or twin boys.

Paula...how did Archer's sweat test come out? My 6 year old grandson has CF. If Archer tests positive and you have any questions, concerns, etc, just let me know.

Denise...that engagement card is wonderful! Love it!

Just hanging in there. Having some medical tests done and am back to my NP tomorrow to discuss the main batch of them. The ones still coming don't much require much discussion, thankfully. Not much motivated to stamp right now with so much going on. But I am not without mojo, thankfully! Just making the time between grandkids!

Have a great week, ever'body!

Hey Diane! It came back normal, thanks for asking. I got the results today and then the internet died on me.

hi everyone...the netting stuff in my invites is some kind of cheesecloth like thing...I bought it by the yard at Joann's. It was with the muslins and such....

So I am officially in packing mode. I dislike packing. Very Much. But the goal is clearly in sight!

And we are going upstate for some R&R when school is over next week...love the mountains in Summer!

Sorry, just feeling goofy...almost time to go home. Heck Denise, I would RATHER pack 10 houses than be here for 8 hours a day (although I like the $$). Thanks for the deets on the cheesecloth stuff - I'll have to check out JoAnn's here to see if they have some.

You could also try the paint department at Walmart. Cheesecloth is used for a lot of stuff in painting.

I just bought cheesecloth in the grocery store, too. It's usually around the canning stuff or housewares stuff.

use the face where he's on the hand truck with that little leather mask thingie on his face. That scene cracks me up for some reason.

Hi everyone! Just realized I hadn't gotten any notifications lately so I came to check the thread. Good news, Paula. I'm off to see the Wizard with you, Lee and Jean. I need to mail some cards too.

So hot here. Yes, I know, it's Florida, what do I expect? It's been 100 degrees everyday for a week, and our thermometer is on our back porch. In the shade. So hot!

Last week I sorted out my stuff at school and packed the stuff I'm taking to 2nd grade with me. I haven't finished, but they are using my new room for summer school, and the other teacher hasn't moved her stuff out yet. So, I don't think there is any hurry.

Today I worked on melding my mom's cardmaking stuff with mine. It took me about an hour to get all her brads integrated with my brads. A lot of sorting. I also inked and cut out the astronaut for a bulletin board I'm making for school next year. Jean is cutting out the rockets for it on her new toy. Which reminds me I have a birthday card to make.

I got some great Bo Bunny patriotic paper, so now I have to get to work on my 4th of July cards.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

I hear ya, Paula. We did get rain yesterday, thankfully, our first in more than a week. But it just thundered all around us for an hour tonight, and not a drop of rain. Drought conditions and wildfires in the counties all around us.

Glad it got there, Jean! So sorry it was late. I just kept thinking, what would make a good Jean card?

And Lee, I can't remember if I told you or not, but the boy card you sent was awesome! Thank you!

It might, possibly, just maybe rain tomorrow. Here's hoping!

If it was the one with the little glasses of iced tea on it and indicated I was "tea-riffic" then yes, I did receive it. Were you my May or June? I think you were my May and Karolyn was June (I send them out at the same time). So, I'm on July's now.

Do any of you have the Imaginesce i-Rock tool? I'm thinking about getting it. I "heart" bling but am stingy when it comes to using rhinestones...I use them sparingly and only for worthy recipients. I thought if I had the i-Rock tool I could be more liberal with my bling applications because you get so many more rhinestones/bling.

Hope you're all having a lovely week so far. We broke a [1924] record yesterday...it was 101* and Sunday tied for record at 99* We were in Myrtle Beach Sunday - it was hot but it didn't seem that hot to me. We all went on the giant ferris wheel down there and had a great view of the ocean, boardwalk and part of the city Attractions in Myrtle Beach | Boardwalk Myrtle Beach | Myrtle Beach Skywheel

Gotta go sing HB to a co-worker and get cake. Laterz

Ohhhhh please I wanna know about the I rock too!!!! I'm wanting one!!

I thought for sure you, of all people, would've already had one. I jsut ordered it about 45 minutes ago along with crystal, pearl, and silver mirror bling. The i-rock tool is on sale at U Cut for $9.95 (you can't use the 40% coupon though). So, I got the Wonky Rectangle Nesties and used the coupon on them.

Another hot one here today...hi 90s with heat index in 100s. Yay!

Goody - I don't think I've ever actually been an enabler before. I like it!

Can't wait to try the i-rock thingie out...I still haven't figured out if it takes batteries or does it just heat up somehow on it's own.

Lee - did you watch the video? I don't recall the lady saying anything about batteries...she just turned it on and it heated up and he used it.

So, what bling thingies did you get to go with it?

I didn't watch the video.....I like adventure apparently since I'm one who never seems to read directions first! I got Glam Rocks Pearl and an assortment of the rhinestones....I got some of the Jewel Setter Stix cuz it sounded like I needed it.....prolly should have tried to figure that out first too, huh? Sounds like you have to use something though for the hot sticky glue stuff? Maybe I better watch the video!

I also got some of the Jewel Setter Stix. Here's how I interpreted it...the little jewels already have an adhesive back but aren't permanently adhered until you use the little heat tool to set them. The setter stix are just to help place the jewels because they're little and I guess tweezers would take too long.
