Hi Peggysue!! So glad you found us!! We miss your bright and smiling face around here. You have a lot going in your life these days, huh? Isn't your daughter getting married soon, too?!! Such a fun time in your life - enjoy every minute and try not to let the stress get to you too bad. Moving stinks - I'm just going to light a match to my house when we're ready to move. LOL

Happy Fourth, ladies!! I need to finish cleaning my house and then we're headed to my sister's at the lake. It's overcast here, too, and expected to rain - AGAIN! Can't wait to get my fix of sunshine in AZ - leaving Thursday. Woohoo!!

Everyone's plans sound amazing, especially that quiche and salad . . . mmmmm. Jean, hope you had a good night's sleep on your new mattress. LOL

Just a low-key day for us too since we'd have to travel quite a ways for fireworks and DH still has to go to work to Denver at 2:30 a.m.! We also will watch fireworks on tv and play some games!

Hi you guys! (Special wave to Peggysue for dropping in on us!)
I spent much of today catching up on that Jessica Sprague class I told you all about earlier. I am really having fun and learning so much. She has extended the free class another week. I learned about "brushes" today which are really like "rubber stamps." You can purchase or get free sets lots of places. We used a set today to make our own background paper.
Sounds like low-key is the theme for the day and we're right in the same mode. Very rainy today--but very quiet, too. We'll watch fireworks on TV unless the neighbors behind us light up the neighborhood! Don't want to drive to Weeki Wachee. Happy holiday times to all of you!

BTW, Lee, I guess if I have you down here, I'll have to invite you during our winter so you don't fade away in our tropical heat! I already know Karo can't handle the humidity. It's been especially bad this year, too.

Here are two hybrid cards we're making in that online class. She opened up registration again until Wednesday if you're interested. http://www.jessicasprague.com/ This is the free one.

Those are cute, Jean! I am intrigued by this class. Maybe I should give it a try; I know next to nothing about Photoshop except what I've learned through trial and error.
Hi PS! Glad to see you pop in!
Hi everyone else! Hope none of you have a fireworks hangover today. I had a nice view of the city fireworks from my apartment complex driveway. Somebody even turned a car stereo to the radio station with the accompanying music, so we had a nice little show. It was fun, plus no crowds and no traffic after!
Today I am working on chores, maybe a little crafting and we'll see what else I can come up with. I'm just enjoying the day off!

I forgot to say that the top card is a pop up card--she gives you the image for that, too.

Hi all - Hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend.

Joe's parents went down with us to my parents' for the weekend. It was the first time they all met. Everything went great and we all had a super time. The town put on a fireworks display and they set them off over the river in a section of the neighborhood my parents live in so we were able to walk a couple of blocks and watch them. We actually walked down to the pier and docks which is private so we were the only ones there. There were also fish jumping out of the water so in between the fireworks going off, I was watching "flying" fish.

Joe rode back to Wilmington with his parents this morning. I had to go to Myrtle Beach to try on [what is the start] of my dress. So far, so good. She had the basic pattern and rough fabric all cut out and pieced together. She pinned a few places, etc. I have to go back next weekend for the next fitting. From there, I think she'll just finish up the hems and do the beading. That'll take the longest because she's doing it all by hand; pearls, beads and Swarovski crystals. Hmmmm, I just realized that afterwards, I can take them all off and use them for cards.

Michele - Glad to hear your plants are all settled in.

Denise - Hope you're feeling better.

Lee - Stay cool! You probably wouldn't like it here in the summer either. The past couple of days have been gorgeous but we had the second hottest June on record. More than 20 days at or above 90 degrees!! It was HOT!

Hi PS - Still dealing with the drama but Joe & I are moving forward. Are you moving? Make sure we have your new addy.

Hi Pat! Hi Jean! Hi Paula!

Sounds like you had a great weekend, Jacqueline! Can't wait to see the dress all finished.

Hooray for the boss at another location, Michelle! And congratulations on winning a stamp set from Gina K!

Hi Lee! I hope it's not too hot there. We've had 4 overcast days in a row and the temps have been in the 80's. So great for us. It was 98 the first week in June!

I'm working on organizing my stamping stuff. I'm trying to fix the things that aren't working for me. It takes so much time to move everything, but will be great when I get it right. Yesterday I reorganized all my SU! stamp pads (markers, refills) which I have in a storage unit from Storage Units Ink. Anyway, I've given up on the families now. I've just got all the colors, new, old, In, whatever, together in colors. But now I have 30 that don't fit so I've got to buy another storage unit. LOL The array of colors I have is dazzling! I LOVE having so many colors.

I did make one card for the Mojo Monday Sketch yesterday and there is a card I really want to make later today if I can get the mess cleaned up enough to work.

Hope everyone is having a terrific Tuesday!

Hi Paula! I'm 99.9 percent certain I'm ordering the beach shells set from a few releases back. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed it!
Hi Pat! I need to reorganize, too. I don't have a good ink storage situation, and the SU color change-over messed up my paper organization system. I have all my scraps organized by color and color family, and in-colors by year. That won't work anymore. But changing it up will require adding a second file box, I think. I mainly need to reorganize so that I can see what I have and what I'm missing. I'm pretty sure I never ordered a few of the in-colors they are bringing back, but I may have some paper for those colors.

I am now reorganizing my colors and putting them in alphabetical order. I'm also putting all the different papers together -- SU!, PTI, Gina K -- together in the file. I'm going to mark the SU! colors that are current in some way. I've decided that trying to keep it all separate takes too much time and effort.

Congrats to our winners!!!! Yaaay!!

I'm in the middle of major reorganizing while DD is here for the summer. I'm paying her to help me since she needs to earn money for a laptop and I need the organization finally accomplished! LOL I also am putting most of my papers together except for my Gina K. so I should have enough containers for that. I had DH take a big rough tote of 12" papers down to a closet as I rarely use them, I'm thinking I'll use them more for scrapbooking so I put it in with that stuff.

WOW! You won AGAIN Michelle? You have the best luck (and talent) when it comes to winning free goodies. Way to go.

Congrats to you too Paula!

I am going to try to start working on paper/card things at least once a week...now that I got the invitations out of the way. I've been running errands at lunch time so I don't have to go out after work but we still have a few things to do. I've bought a few embellishments and a couple slices of paper for wedding pages for a scrapbook. Now, I'll just have to make sure I make them right away and not wait a year or two. I'm behind in scrapbooking too. Who's got the cattle prod??

Good luck with your organizing Pat and Lee...I did it a few months ago and still haven't listed the stamp sets and other no-longer-want/need items on ebay. I had them listed in the B/S/T forum for a little bit and sold some but I still have lots to get rid of. My CS system is similar to yours Michelle...I haven't reorganized though since the color change. I'll have to review the situation.

Well, almost time to go home but I have one more meeting with the big boss and my supervisor (no, I'm not in trouble). LOL Hope it doesn't take too long - it's almost time to GO!

Could someone please tell Mother Nature to stop shaking????

We had another earthquake today. This one was 5.4, but the epicenter was maybe 45 miles away, and I was at work on the third floor of our building. It was a jolt followed by a shudder that seemed to last FOREVER! I was off my chair and thinking about crawling under the desk (it's what they tell you to do) when it finally stopped. No damage, only a few slightly crooked pictures on the walls, but I was rattled!

Hope you're all doing better than me, and surviving the heat. It's not hot here, but I know it is just about everywhere else!

Michelle,
I felt it too. I guess it was in Borrego Springs. I was at work, waiting for a client and the lamp almost fell off the shelf. I just sat there wondering whether I should move or not. It seemed the ground was moving all day though - until this hit. I think the earth is preparing for a bigger one - when the plates finally shift - hmm - could be scary - perhaps I need to pack my Precious Moments back up - I KNOW that is the reason this is all happening - as soon as I got displays and took them all out I worried that we would have earthquakes that would make them go crashing to the ground!

Yikes, Mish...I thought of you when I heard the news! Glad you are ok!

We are looking at another (yes another) 100 degree day here in NY....Absolutely insane that it's cooler in Florida!

Okay, you California girls, hoping for the shake, rattle, and roll to stop. I understand that Mother Nature is p*ss*d but she needs to not take it out on you! Wear your helmets--remember the drills but let's hope it's over.
Dee, I distinctly remember some days this winter when it was warmer in NY than Florida. Persevere, you'll be here soon enough--just don't bring the heat with you. Paula, I see another storm is headed your way--hunker down. Geez, Mother Nature IS really mad about this oil spill isn't she?

Hi Kids! Hope the earth stopped shaking for you Cali girls! I arrived safe and sound in AZ today - it was 111 when I landed and 109 by the time I got home. It's a dry heat, so not like what you all are experiencing that have humidity. But hot nonetheless. I guess I asked for sunshine . . . and I definitely got some! LOL Stay cool, chicas!

Hi girls!
Paula, I know what you mean about the breakables. I have a collection of vintage medicine and other bottles and I was worried about them until I got home last night to see how they did. They were fine, not even a wobble! I am starting to think I should go ahead and purchase earthquake insurance, though.
Karo, enjoy the heat! It's been cool and overcast where I'm at, and I'm not complaining too much. It'll get hot soon enough. How long are you down there?
Hi everyone else! Happy almost Friday. I am getting ready to tackle my cardstock reorganization. Wish me luck!

I'm here until the 20th. I tried to talk Garry into coming with me - no luck. He was afraid it'd be too hot for him to golf, and it's nice in WA right now, so he decided to stay there. If I get bored, I may head back early. But for now, I'm thrilled to pieces to have the whole house to myself. I can dance around naked if I want to!! LOL

OK..............I think I have my cardstock sorta/kinda there.......

I have all my Pure Luxury sorted in color families into plastic 8.5x11 bins. Now......I think I'm just gonna keep my non-GKD cardstock in 2 separate rough totes....one for full sheets and one for scraps. So far I have all my Pure Luxury scraps also mixed together in a rough tote. OMGosh I still have a lot of work in here! LOL

Hahahahaha! Hilarious smiley, Lee!

Karolyn, I'm getting ready to mail your stamps back to you - would you like them in Arizona or Washington? I will probably put them in the mail Monday. Whichever you prefer is fine with me!

I sorted my SU paper in to retired and not retired. I am organizing the retired in a rainbow, and the not retired by the color families. I also have files for non-SU paper by manufacturer. I'm not sure if I'll like this system, but I'm gonna give it a shot! At least I know what I have now.

I had a thought in the middle of the night and was wondering what you think. I have so many neglected stamps. It really is a shame and an embarrassment! I was thinking we could do a pay it forward kind of stamp trade. Example: I pick out 5 stamps from my stash, package them up and send them on to one of you with a list of who's participating. Then you pick out 5 stamps and send them on to somebody else with the list, crossing your name off. We won't worry about cost, value, etc. except that perhaps we really should avoid sending $1 stamps. We won't impose a time frame, etc. We won't complain about well-loved stamps versus relatively new. We'll just wait for the grab bag in the mail. What do you think? Let's hash it out before I work out any details.

Love the smiley, Lee. Wonder what Karo's not wearing today?!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

What's going on croutons??

Lee - hilarious - you have smiley for everything. How can I get some?

Karo - enjoy your stay in AZ - stay cool!

Michele & Paula - maybe you can get some of that museum putty stuff to hold your breakables/collectibles in place. They wouldn't move unless of course the earthquake is a big one and tips over your cabinet or knocks shelves off the wall. Hopefully you won't have to experience that.

Jean - I like your stamp idea...are you talking stamp sets or single stamps? What about other stamping related goodies (i.e. CB folders, dies, etc.)? I have a box full of stuff in my closet to part with...I'm trying to find the time to list them on ebay.

I only have to work until 1PM today (they don't like paying overtime so I get time off instead). Joe is off today too - we get an extra day off for our birthday. I have to go to Myrtle Beach tomorrow for another dress fitting.
We went to the jewelers yesterday to get my Dad's ring fitted for Joe. We ordered mine. I think once I get back from CO and start into August things will be even more exciting...the 20th still seems far off to me even though we've been busy with plans.

Enjoy your day my peeps. Stay cool.
