No kidding!!! Now if we could somehow make it so those who make these spamming/hacking issues could get the viruses themselves...............

major bummer, Paula.
Jean, I agree, a plague or seven seems appropriate for spammers.
I am counting the minutes til I can leave work in about an hour. I have plants to plant! I also have been itching to do some stamping, but that involves "unpacking" all the stuff I put away before my vacation. Might be a little more work than I can handle tonight. Fortunately, I have Friday and Monday off (though I do have to work Saturday) so I can spend the weekend crafting.

I'm back from Jean's! I made lots of cards while I was there. Tomorrow I will put all the stuff I took with me back where it belongs. Thursday I have to go to school for a little while. I'm going to the grocery store in the morning. I hope you all have Monday off for the 4th of July holiday!

Adorable card Karo! LOVE it. You go girly.

Did you get your planting done Michelle? I don't have a green thumb (unless we're talking ink). But I do have a tomato plant my mom bought me at Easter that is doing fabulous...I get tomatoes every few days and I've already trimmed the plant twice.

Sucks about the spamming. Someone just did that to a friend of mine and she finally changed her e-mail address. I was just bouncing anything that came from her back to the sender.

Joe's birthday is today. Not sure what we're doing. He didn't seem overly enthused but I'll plan a nice dinner.

My invitations went out yesterday and I have a partial fitting Monday at the dressmakers. She will have the top piece ready to fit, then she'll finish it and add the bottom.

Saturday, Joe's parents are coming with us to my parents house for dinner (and to meet for the first time). I ordered a small [birthday] cake in the same flavors/icing as our wedding cake so we can all sample it. Truth is, I just couldn't wait until the wedding to have the cake - it's sooo yummy. I've been thinking about it since I ordered it.

My Dad gave me his original wedding band to give to Joe...he and my mom had gotten new bands for one of their anniversaries [years ago]. My mom said since they've been married 45 years, Dad's ring should bring us good luck. I've got to have it resized. I told Joe about it and he was very touched and honored to have it.

Well, busy busy at work so I better go earn my pay. Talk later.

That's so sweet, Jacq! My grandmother gave me her wedding band for my 16th birthday and it's what we used for my wedding ring.
Enjoy your cake and happy birthday to Joe!

Thanks, girlies!! You all are my biggest cheerleaders, and I am so grateful for each and every one of you. I woke up with a raging headache, and as soon as I saw that win it was miraculously gone!! LOL It totally made my day, for sure. Now if I could just muster up the courage to submit to PC again . . . we'll see.

Paula, I'm so sorry about the spamming. I know how annoying that can be. Hope you get it cleared up soon.

Mish, did you get your plants planted? I wish I had planted some annuals in my entry pots . . . could definitely use some color around this depressing rainy environment. Ugh!

Jacq, I hope the fitting goes well and that your dress is exactly what you had in mind. I'm so excited for you!! Enjoy your mini birthday cake this weekend, and wish Joe a Happy Birthday for me. I also love the idea of using your dad's wedding ring . . . gotta carry on that karma for sure.

Well, I'm off to get some errands done. Brecken is coming this afternoon to spend the day and night with Grandma so that Ashley and Blake can get some sleep. Can't wait!! Have a great day, ladies - I know I will!!

Good morning everyone!

Congrats to Karolyn for winning the Moxie Fab Challenge!! All your bicycle cards were so great! Have fun with Brecken.

Happy Birthday to Joe. What a great idea to sample the cake! I'm sure your dad's ring will bring you good luck.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday. I'm casting a magical spell over the day as we speak...

Lee, I think you should try Cardmaker. Not that your cards won't get published in PC, but I think Cardmaker is more you. Layers. Bling. Distressed but not vintage. Just a thought. I have a card to try at Cards that PC passed on. After that I'm going to just blog it as unpublished and give it to my FIL! i'm afraid to try Cardmaker. They have a whole page of instructions and that is my least favorite part of submitting.

Woohoo, congrats Karo! The card is truly FAB! And have fun with Brecken tonight.

Jacq, that is so sweet about the ring. Plans are really moving now, aren't they? So excited for you. And happy birthday to Joe!

Lee, can't wait to see your cards in CARDMAKER! Just keep trying, I know you'll get published soon.

Hi everyone else. Hope you're all doing well. I haven't done any planting yet. Looks like I'm going to need some more pots. I did water tonight, though, and the plants are still looking good.

I had a little update on my sister here, but decided maybe I shouldn't leave it out in open forum. Sorry bout that!

Go for it Lee!

How was your birthday Jean? Did you do any thing special? Did ya get drunk?

PM me Sunny's address too Michelle...I plan to work on a few things this evening.

(((HUGS))) to everyone!

FYI...I can really see how some of these girls turn into Bridezilla's. I am very easy going and focused so this process for me is quite simple. But throw in an overly excited mother, an out of town matron of honor, a [sometimes] nagging/blase/uninterested fiance, friends who don't listen, over priced bridal shops, etc. and one can go over the edge very quickly. The latest is that Michele called me [from Buffalo] yesterday to say the lady in the store told her the bridesmaid dress we picked out only comes in pink or purple, not yellow. Bull S***. I had the brand new catalog in front of me and gave Michele the style number and it DID indeed come in yellow. SO, instead of checking, the stupid lady in the store just ordered her a "similar" style dress in yellow. It wasn't even the same material let alone the fact we DIDN'T want the substitute dress. OMG - what is wrong with people?

Anyway, Michele didn't know what to do so she just went along with it but she called me. I was on lunch so I zipped over to David's Bridal and explained the story to the consultant here. She went on-line and verified that the dress we originally wanted DOES come in yellow! She changed the order on line and called the Buffalo store while I was there to confirm the new order will be placed. So, hopefully, we will end up with the dress intended.

Hope you all have a lovely day. It's raining here today. Ciao.

Ugh, Denise - that stinks. Feel better!
Jacq, yucko on the bridesmaid dress drama. That is so rude of them to just order a different dress. I hope the correct one arrives!
Hi all! I am enjoying a lovely, sunny day off. I have to work tomorrow, but this is a nice trade off, especially since I also get Sunday and Monday (for the holiday) off. Woohoo. I need to get my plants planted, run some errands and pick up some holiday fare. I am craving potato salad, and think I need some burgers to go with it.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy day off, Michelle! I planned to do laundry and clean today, but I find myself making 4th of July cards instead. I think I'll throw a load of laundry in now that I've finished my lunch and then it's back to card making!

I've noticed this is a growing trend, Jacqueline. If a store doesn't have what you are looking for they tell you it is discountinued, or unavailable, etc. I've learned to ignore all that and go look for it some place else. I can't believe she ordered a different dress though, that took real nerve!

Pubs, who's going to pubs? I wasn't invited!

D, pneumonia? I hope they've got you on good antibiotics!

Jacq, it will all be worth it very shortly. Hopefully by the time the wedding arrives, you'll have worked yourself into this detached euphoria--some call it the jitters--but I don't really think it's a jittery kind of reaction. Anyway, the kind of state that just let's you enjoy the day!

Lee, keep submitting! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of you who have sent things in. PC has just posted another call. My thinking is to make NEW things for the calls. They are getting REAL particular about FRESH, new products. It's really hard to go with pattern papers for just that reason. Karolyn has recently done some really cool cards with no DP and Maren Benedict is another one to look at for ideas of what PC likes. Denise Marzec (peanutbee) also does some really nice looking things and of course, Julie Ebersole. There are lots of folks who get published all the time. They seem to know what the trends are. I think we're getting past those cards that have everything on them but the kitchen sink--gawd, I hope so! There have been some in the color challenge recently that make me shudder!
So what is everyone doing for the 4th? Looks like it's just Milt and Me--not complaining. More pulled pork and moomie's buns for us. I should make a dessert, I guess. Nothing looked good at the supermarket bakery today--any ideas?
Well, hugs. Robyn, if you're lurking--I'm thinking about you.

OK, I planted as many plants as I could! I need three more pots and another bag of dirt. I also cleaned out my patio storage - it was a mess and gross!!!!! I'll spare you the details. So now my patio looks so much better!
I am going to take a lunch break, then run out to the grocery store. I also need to pick up a combo father's day/birthday gift for my dad and I have NO IDEA what to get him. I'm thinking gift card ....

Hey girls! Would you believe we're having flooding from the rain from hurricane Alex? Landfall is miles and miles away from here! I am not close to Mexico! We keep changing plans and menus based on the weather.

Denise ~ Feel better!!!

Jean ~ Check out www.oneprettything.com if you want red, white, and blue desserts. I like dirt pudding if you don't want the colors.

Keep submitting peeps. I haven't gotten anything in since the first time. not holding my breath this time. I'm not super Valentinesy, but I'll still give it a go. Gets me creating anyway!

Great site, Paula. Weird--I thought about dirt cake as a possibility! Beach cake is fun, too.

I've never had beach cake. Will have to check it out! I love One Pretty Thing. So many cute ideas.

The rain has finally slacked off and the sun is even shining today. They're still expecting rain each day but not nearly as much.

OK, I know what dirt cake is, but what is beach cake?
I am enjoying all the fresh berries in season right now, so I bought raspberries, ice cream and a little chocolate sauce at the store yesterday. Yum!
Also, thanks for the link, Paula. That's a cool site!
I was so productive yesterday - I did my gardening and a few other chores around the house, ran errands and even stamped! I hadn't stamped in at least two weeks. It felt good to get back to it. Plus I got to play with some of the cool stuff I picked up on vacation!
This morning I need to do some laundry and dishes, and then I have to head to work about 1:30 or so. Cross your fingers that it is a quiet night!

Golden oreos or vanilla cookie sandwiches instead of the chocolate oreos for beach cake--looks like sand.
Rained here all afternoon. We went into "town" to buy a new mattress set. And before someone asks the tacky question, the answer is No, we won't be breaking it in tonight!

Denise................HUGS!!!! Feel better soon!!!

Mish...........wow you are on a roll!!!

Paula! What a cute site! I bookmarked it!

Jean.......I will keep trying, but not like crazy right now.......I think I will try when I make a card I really just love for fun and am not needing to post it for any specific reason so I can keep it offline. Thanks for your cheering on!!

Karolyn........any new pics of you getting to snuggle sweet Brecken???

Jacq..........wow what nerve of that store clerk!! Just give us the word and we'll get our POSSE together girls and go "have a little chat with" that lady!!!

Howdy to everyone else I missed........it's just hot summertime here. So being on constant fire alert with everything else going on is an added thing. We don't "do" heat very well and are already wishing for Fall!! No throwing rotten tomatoes at me for saying that!!!! Heehee!!

Happy
Fourth
of July!

Hope you all have a great day. I'm going low-key, I think, and I'm going to do some crafting and maybe watch the fireworks with my neighbors later. It's overcast this morning, if it stays that way, I may check out the parade in town.

I'm also having a low key day. I've been doing a few chores and just took a quiche Lorraine out of the oven. It's been overcast here all morning, so I decided the oven wouldn't heat the house up unbearably. I'm going to have the quiche with that salad that you make with field greens and strawberries with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing for lunch. Later I'm picking up my brother and we're going over have dinner with my mom. Then we hope to get home before all the crazy people get on the road. We will watch fireworks on tv -- from Disney World, Boston, NY, and anywhere else that has great fireworks. I love to see fireworks live, but I hate the heat, the crowds, the mosquitoes, and the traffic.

Hi gals! I'm posting so I'm subscribed to the new thread. I know I'm horribly absent most of the time . . .

we have our house up for sale. I'm usually cleaning it to make it look the way the realtor likes . . .

Not much else is new! Wishing you all a Happy 4th!
