I ordered one of her kits once and really liked it, but I'm not sure how I will feel after six of them. If you sign up by tomorrow, you get a free exclusive stamp set at the end of the 6 months, which is a nice little incentive. Thoughts???

I like this kit cause it includes more than just the stamps. I was getting the Unity KOTM but it was just stamps. And, every stamp needed to be colored in (something I am no into right now).

How much is it for 6 months?

D, it's $23.95 per month, including shipping, but the kit is just paper and embellies - no stamps. The ones I've seen have cardstock, including coordinating colors and neutrals, patterned papers from a collection, 5 yards of ribbon, and a couple of types of other embellies or accessories. The Rock Star kit I ordered awhile back had sheets of thin metal - which is awesome for embossing, especially on masculine cards, and coordinating die cut tags in several shapes. Other kits have had buttons, prima flowers, bling, etc., all coordinating. The whole kit comes in a nifty storage container. I also did a little research and found out you can request to skip a month if money is super tight that month or something else comes up. They just shift that month to the end of your subscription. I am leaning toward going for it at this moment, but I could change my mind again before the end of the day!

Michelle - it sounds as though you've somewhat made up your mind and that you're trying to justify it. Here's a little push ======[[[[[[[[[[[ go for it. I liked your comment earlier about buying every 6x6 pad...I've bought ten in the last 2 months!!! My name is Jacqueline and I am a paper S _ _ T.

Robyn - I'm with Jean - you ARE the queen. We're more like Royal Jesters!

Hey, here are a couple of pics of the invitations. I used bright white CS (even though it looks like a$s in the pic), Barely Banana, and Going Gray. I decided to go with yellow because the patterned paper was all I could find that would work. I so miss the scrapbook store. Waaaaaaahhh. I originally wanted a pretty pink floral but my resources were limits. Beggars can't be choosers, right? The first pic is the invitation, the second is with the reply card, the third pic is the whole ensemble (invitation, reply card, and directions). The reply card/envelope and directions all slide under the band on the reverse side of the invitation. I bought long silver envelopes.

Well, off to Kohl's to take Joe's [wedding] pants back. Need to exchange for a larger size (heehee). He insists he's a 32 waist...

Jacq, they are absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! Just awesome. I love the yellow/gray - to me it looks sophisticated and elegant.

(and thanks for the push!!! I am going for it. I just have to skip one Starbucks trip a week to pay for it )

Finally home, and I am so glad! Tonight I have to make a card, wrap some presents and pack for my brief weekend trip to my cousins' tomorrow. I'm also going to check out a new stamp/scrap store or two on the way.

Oh, and I subscribed to the kit! I'll let you all know how it goes.

Lee, you are so funny!

Jacq, the invitation ensemble is really beautiful--classy and elegant!

Mish, paper kits--so much more enduring than coffee, anyway.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Robyn - I was a Job's Daughter too when I was younger - I always wanted to go up the line, but never did. I di hold several positions though and it was fun while it lasted.
Michelle - My roommate in College was in Rainbow girls. I think she actually went up the line. As far as kits - enjoy - I won a kit subscription for a year, and I got stuff that I mostly didn't use. I don't think I will do a kit again.
Everyone else - I have decided to take the plunge and last night I signed up to become an SU Demo! I have had a Demo that I have purchased from for oh, probably 10 years or so - she is awesome and I finally decided to give it a go - at least I can get discounts on the products I love.

Jacqueline, your invitations are beautiful! Very nice job.

I was a Rainbow Girl too, for many years. I was an officer 7 times, but alas, no crown. Lots of gowns though.

Let us know how your subscription works out, Mish. I've thought about doing one of those a couple of times. I'm afraid I am like the others though, I buy new 6x6 paper pads all the time. Like, Lee, I am a paper fiance. I love my paper!

I slept in this morning - I think I needed the sleep but now I have to kick it into gear and get busy! My LSS is having a little "event" today that I want to check out before I hit the road to the cousins' house, and I still have to pack and put together the birthday presents I'm taking with me. So off I go. Have a great day everyone!

I may have the photos to show that I was a Queen back in the day but I think there are better Queens here now.

Hi all!
I think I have read about 200 posts tonight to catch up a fourth of the way!!
I love the new name!
I have a subscription to Taylor's monthly kit. Awesome papers and goodies to match. They always have ribbon, buttons, some unusual doo dads and lots of ideas. Mine have "stockpiled" as I am one who changes daily on what I want to use or work on. Eventually I will use all the supplies, but will not be renewing my subscription going forward.

Hugs everyone!

Attended a Shoe Box Swap in Jackson WI (about an hour from where I live). Had a great time meeting old and new friends. There were only 12 of us but we all had a great time. The cards we made were fantastic and so were the items in the additional swaps. This weekend I will work on getting them in my gallery and on my blog.

Here are a couple of pics of the 'Secret Sister' Swap item I made. I purchased the pattern and instructions.

A few more pics.
The bottom case was filled with 6 regular size cards, 6 - 3 x 3 cards, tags, altered big paper clips and binder clips and a pen.
The middle case was filled with all sorts of stamping items.
The top case was filled with pampering items.

I also did an ATC that was an electric Tea Lite altered to look like a Birthday Cake.

Robyn, those projects are so unique! Beautiful craftmanship. How fun that you went to the shoebox swap! I wish we had something like that here.

Yes, Paula, congrats on becoming a demo.

Peggy--we are kind of hard to keep up with! Come on back!

Still chuckling over paper fiance!

Lee, don't say that! Especially, if it's true! I need something to hope for!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEAN!!!
and many more!

Add me to the list of belated birthday cards. Hope your day is special (just like you). I still say we go to the un-birthday celebrations.

Lee - sending sunny skies your way...when it rains, it pours, huh? Feel better.

just popping in to say "hi" before we get back into the work week grind...I am trying to make a little magnetic booklet to store my Nesties. Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Argh. I'm having a Monday. Apparently my gmail account was hacked and everyone I ever sent an email to from that account was spammed. So if you got any weird emails from me, just delete them, don't click the links! I've changed the password and google caught it quickly, but I am so annoyed. Grrr..... I hate spammers.

Ack, Michelle! So sorry to hear about your spammer problem. Computers are so great when everything goes right and so annoying when it doesn't. LOL Hope your day is looking up.

Anyone have any theories as to why I decided to buy a bunch of plants at Target this evening? I have tomatoes, herbs, lavender and some flowers, too. Now I have to find some time to put them in pots. It's too late tonight, it's almost dark!

Michelle, in the past I have done the same thing, buy a bunch of plants with no place to put them and no time to plant them, so I totally understand. This year I am doing really good though! Luckily my whole side yard needs filled in. Every time I feel like buying a plant or two (and that is my limit at one time this year) I buy something that will go there. I want a lot of ground cover for the path and some bigger plants for around the path. It's going to be a woodland garden type theme - sans trees.

Hmm, Michelle - because you are going to make some divine dish with the tomatoes and herbs and then a beautiful bouquet with the flowers??

So sorry about James' knee and your sinus infection. Not fun.

Paula, things might not settle down as kids get older, it's just a different type of hectic. I find it easier because the older they get "their" problems are less "your" problem. Of course, I really don't have a problem with letting my kids sink or swim on their own as long as it is in a safe environment.

Ugh, I got hacked and am spamming people today. So annoying. Ignore anything weird you get from me, if anything. I'm really lazy with my address book so you might be spared. i changed the password and contacted yahoo. is there anything else I should do? I'm trying to let people know.

I went in and changed my passwords on my accounts, but then the domino changes had to be done, like changing my account settings on email so the incoming and outgoing servers would respond! Geez, this isn't easy. Bevy of plagues on these hackers!
