Karolyn! Alyssa and I got our twine today! Thank you! Now to figure out how to use it!

Pat ~ Holy heck! That is stinkin' genius!!! Can you show your ribbon storage, too? Mine is massively out of control.

Yay! Wow - I'm impressed with the USPS - I mailed that stuff on Monday, and it arrived all the way on the East Coast by Wednesday - that's awesome!

I got my twine, too! It's so yummy - the colors totally remind me of candy. Thanks again Karolyn!

I just got home after two hours of OT tonight, which makes me very tired, but my pocketbook happy! Now if only Friday would hurry up and get here!

Oh good. Has anyone heard from Jean? She's been MIA the last couple of days . . . I'm a little worried about her.

Jean is a little under the weather with her left leg. They thought it was tendonitis but now think it might be a different injury. She has an MRI today.

Just got back from having dinner with Denise and Barb (D's MIL) at PF Changs. It's so much fun to get together with the peeps! We were really sorry Jean had to miss it, but we called her so she wouldn't miss out completely.

Working on 'projects' this weekend. The twine is so pretty I hate to use it, but my new motto is...you bought it...you USE it!

Whoa - I thought we disappeared but I found ya (you can run but you can't hide!)

Feel better Jean - sorry to hear you're not feeling well.

Fun picture Denise & Pat - so jealous. I just went to PF Changs with my mom last weekend. Yummy in my tummy!

Got my twine too - I think Thursday - very speedy delivery. Love how you made your ribbon keepers Pat - and they don't seem like they'd take up a lot of room. I might copy your "invention" to re-organize my ribbon. Right now, I have it all in zip loc bags coordinated by colors. I'll take it a step further so it's neater.

Wedding Update: I picked up my dress yesterday - it's really pretty and I can't wait to just wear it already. Mom is doing the final ordering of the food this week...we're having cocktails (beer, wine, etc.) and heavy hors d'euvres to inlcude: Brazilian beef brisket (friends are making this and they're actually from Brazil); Chicken Satays; mini quiches; antipasto; Swedish Meatballs; shrimp cocktail; veggie/olive tray; fruit platter; stuffed mushrooms, and I think stromboli. Plus, cake (and cookies that the moms are making).

Joe & I are leaving work early one day this week to go get the marriage license. We also have to finish writing our vows and give a copy to the minister (in case we forget what we're going to say).

I wish you all could come - we'd have a blast. I'd be like "Joe who?" My peeps are here! heehee just kidding. I wouldn't diss him like that. But I'd be having a blast with my peeps!

I want to try to get my hometown cards finished - I still have a few to create. It was really fun reading all about everyone's hometowns. Glad we did it.

Just checking in! Was VERY busy at the spa last week - which was a very good thing - my hobby money was getting low! Have been making cards slowly for various challenges out there. Pat, love your twine organizing - what is the ribbon thing everyone is talking about? Would love to find some kind of organizing for mine - I got rid of a BUNCH of ribbon about a month ago - just gave it all to Goodwill. I am trying to stick with just getting SU ribbon for now, but need some way to store it so I can see what I have - not a problem at the moment since I don't have that much.

so excited for you Jacq! The big day is just around the corner. I can't wait to see pictures of the dress (and of course you and Joe, too!)
Hi Paula!
Hi everyone else. Hope you're doing well. I had a super early assignment this morning which was yucko (not the event, just the hour I had to get up!) but fortunately I am home for the evening now! I'm hoping for a nice quiet night and maybe an early bedtime.

Sounds very exciting Jacqueline! How time flies!

Speaking of time flying, I go back to school next week. I spent the day in my classroom today. Our custodians cleaned our rooms very thoroughly this year so they moved all my furniture to clean behind things and clean the carpeting. Today I moved everything back where I wanted it. Thank goodness that's done!

Pat, sounds like the "cleaning" the janitors do at my work, however, my desk is still dusty and everything is moved around.

Jacq - the wedding sounds like it is coming together nicely!

Hiya Paula, Michelle, Lee, and everyone else.

Here are the other ribbon holders I made. The first two are stacked on top of each other. I made them from wooden CD crates I found at Michael's on sale. I bought some decorative molding there too. Then I cut the molding in two pieces and glued them on the open side of the crate with a small space between them for the ribbon to come through. I left enough space so that I can take the spool out, if I want to.

The other is the system I saw in a catalog, but the ribbon bobbins were plastic. I punched the circles out of heavy white cardstock and used my slot punch and hole punch. Then I threaded the ribbons through and hung the bobbins on a binder ring. They look really pretty hanging and I like the fact that I can write the name of the ribbon or who makes it on the bobbin. I made different shapes for different kinds of ribbons -- ovals, tags, and even stars for my patriotic ribbons. If the ribbon is wide, just punch the slot wider with the same slot punch.

About peed my pants when I got those emails. Doing the happy dance tonight! Just had to share with my girlies!

I'm actually thinking about submitting a couple of cards for the Stamp It! technique call. One of them is paper piecing, which is right up your alley, Karolyn!

Congrats to you Karolyn! You should be proud - we are! But, it's no surprise that they picked your cards - you Rock!

Hope Kee & Jean are feeling better.

Pat - great organization tips. I like those little ribbon circles too - they're perfect for those straggler pieces of ribbon. Are you counting the days before you go back to school - bet you can't wait to get back and see all those kiddie-poo's. LOL Summer is almost over.

Michelle - enter your cards - you do great work and are worthy of publication! I'd love to submit but I can't seem to find the time.

I think after the wedding I will start up a blog and start concentrating on submitting some cards too. I dropped my SU! demoship so I don't have that to contend with anymore. I just ordered about 30 new Copics and a few Magnolia stamps and CC Designs. I have a ton of new goodies that aren't even out of the package yet. I'm itchin' to play!

Morning!

Jacq ~ So excited about the wedding! i can't wait for pictures! Did you get the traveling stamp box? i might have missed it if you said.

Michelle ~ Go for it! I need to look at it again. i didn't feel overly inspired when I saw the call list. i don't usually think technique first, plus they want your stamps!

Karolyn ~ You too, lady! Go for it!!! Tell those voices to sing along or shut the heck up! you are a highly published, moxie fab designer!

Morning girls!
Jacq - MAGNOLIA'S????? What images did you get? I only recently discovered these cuties and am now on a few Magnolia forums (at yahoo). Have you seen the Magazine? That is what clinched it for me. I have FOUR - but have had a few stampers send me images to play with - so that is always fun.
I won some more Sugar Nellies - just got those yesterday and inked one up, she is on my blog.
Yesterday was a WONDERFUL stamping day for me. I finished up a couple swaps for a Stampin Up Demo swap and now have to do a card for a Magnolia Mingle - so will do that today.
What are all the rest of you doing today?

Sounds like things are starting to look up for everyone. That is so good to hear.

Wedding, School, being published, great ribbon storage ideas. Happy Days are Hear again. (Now if they would just do a quick stop at my house.)
