Still chuckling over Lane Bryant in the chocolate place. That is kharma!

Congrats Jean! I'm envious. I wish I had the extra time to concentrate on submittals.

Good luck Denise & Joe.

My Joe and I picked up our rings today. I have a next-to-final fitting Saturday for my dress and next week we're off to get the marriage license. Only a couple more weeks. I hope I don't have a nervous breakdown before then. haha. Work is settling down a little bit the media around here sucks. The media thrive on misleading the public and sensationalism (no offense Michelle). There is one news station in particular that is trying to stir things up. Oh well, luckily I am only acting Public Relations Officer and don't have to do this all the time.

I'm following along on the hometown tours and hope to get some cards done on Friday. It's hard to have to actually "work" at work. I guess the good ol days are over. *sigh*

Stacey - If you have any extra Orchid Opulence, Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Gable Green, or Going Gray, I'll take them off your hand. I also will reimburse you for shipping.

Did you really mean Chocolate Chip?? Ha Ha 1) that's not retired, 2) you would have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

I'll see what I have of the others.

Please tell me that you will be seeing Jeans fab cards in Cardmaker because that is when her issue is available for purchase and not because you are bragging that you can just hope on over to Jeans place anytime you feel like it and take a peak and her sneak peak copy.

Jean, congrats again!

Do any of my super talented and smart stamping friends have any advice on how I can alter the cover of a spiral bound notebook, with cardstock/dsp, without having to take all the pages off the spirals? This measuring the distance between the holes thing is not working so hot. Good thing I've got lots of this retired card stock to practice on!

Stacey, a lot of times I can manage to just take the cover off and not the pages. It's still kind of a pain, though. I've taken to choosing notebooks that I don't mind if the edge shows.

Denise ~ yay!!! congrats to you and Joe!

Jean ~ Awesome! I will have to pick it up when I find it!

Jacq ~ It's getting so close! Yay! And every bride i've known has at least a mini-freak out. My advice is to have it a day or two before the wedding instead of the day of.

Stacey......I made a few using dp with the same color as the tiny bit of color that will show actually matches. Also you can put a thin ribbon on the edging of where the paper meets the rings for a pretty look too that takes your eye away from the part not covered.

Michelle, Lee and Denise: Way to go...all those cards.
I didn't have time to do any with my sister visiting and working on repairs to the mobile home and driving her to all the quilt shops and Home Depot. Everything is 15 minutes or more away, so no quick trips.

Denise: Great news about DH. Hope the time flies and he stays safe.

Jacq: All the planning and preparations and it seems like it is over in the blink of an eye. Just remember that most likely you are the only one that will know that something isn't exactly the way you planned it, so don't sweat it, just enjoy the day.

Jean: Congrats I'll have to pick up CardMaker and look at pages 58 and 68

Stacey: You could use the Sprial Border Punch (#119872 $15.95) from SU. I did it for once for an Altered Notebook Swap but didn't like the time it took to push each tab through the wires. In the Shoe Box Swaps I attend where we also do an Altered Notebook Swap, when the notebooks are spiral bound, almost all of them have the paper only up to the rings and never between them.

Everyone: Hope you are all well and getting some stamping time in for theraphy.

I am sooooooo behind in stamping, Robyn. I am now THREE challenges behind for our hometown tours. I haven't even started my Jessica Sprague lesson for this week. So how did I spend today? I met Pat at Violette's in Lakeland and we perused 7 rooms of scrapbooking and stamp stuff. For the first time, I spent more than she did! It was a fun day but now I'm TIRED! Don't even have the energy to unpack my Stampin' Up order. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. I sure am enjoying the Hometown tours.

Yes! I am bragging that I got to see her sneak peek issue! Jean and I met in Lakeland today for a field trip to Violette's (a LSS). We've been saying we should go there for a couple of years now, so we finally did. I had a SU! order for her as well. Jean has two whole pages in the magazine! I feel so lucky to be her BF.

About your spiral notebook - I've used the SU! punch to cover the original covers and love the results.

Gina's doing a great job reporting on things at CHA--look at the grand nesties on her reports and I'm already getting light headed about the Basic Grey. She does such great videos.

It looked like she had to crank three times for every inch it went through, though! She was cranking and cranking and cranking.

I don't know about the linking, D, but I just dropped the code for hometown tours and StampTV videos and when they posted, they were titled--it probably has to be an active page, maybe?

Hmmmmmm, so YOU want a sneak peak, too? I'm thinking "bottle of wine" fruit of the vine. . .Just a warning, I will be wearing my crown--LOL!

Oh, and while y'all are shopping for mags, you can pick up a copy of CARDS Magazine this month, too . . . my wedding card is on Page 30. Or you can get an issue online for $4.99 (much better than the $19.99 per hard copy!) - sorry to hijack, Jean! LOL

Wow, you all have been chatty the last couple of days. Finished my card for Mish's Home Town challenge (combined it with an upcoming CARDS Mag call )

Jacq, I can only imagine how excited you are to get this wedding over with. Denise, so happy for you and Joe. You're going to love retired life. Are you really going to move to Florida?

Hi Pat, Stacey, Robyn, Paula, Lee and Michelle!

Still waiting for the Divine Twine to arrive. Should be here tomorrow or the next day. I'm so irritated. For some reason, my PTI order has been delayed by UPS. When I look at the tracking information, it says "Exception - Extreme Weather Conditions" or some BS like that. It's in Redmond, which is local to me. It's 85 and sunny out - what kind of extreme weather condition is that?!! Ugh!! I ordered the ticket stamp set and the ticket die several days AFTER my main order, and that box arrived today - it came by USPS. UPS is holding my stamps hostage - guess I'm going to have open up a can of whoop ***** on someone! LOL

Back to the stamp table for me . . . still trying to come up with something magical for Pat's challenge.

Hi everyone. Busy week here, so I've been reading but not much commenting.
Jean, congrats again. I'll have to keep an eye out for your mag. Yours, too, Karo!
Jacq, no offense taken. I like to believe I'm not one of those "media" people, but I know exactly the type you're talking about! And yay for the wedding countdown! So excited for you.
I'm going to have to plug my ears and close my eyes re: the new Nesties. I already know I want them, but they (and the new machine you'll need to use them) are definitely not in my budget now or any time soon!
Robyn, are you all ready for CHA? Are you going for one day or both? Go early, if it's anything like Anaheim, people will be waiting in line for the doors to open! So excited for you to go, and wish I was going with you.
Karo, I hope the stamps and twine arrive soon. I'm eager to get my share - thanks again for doing this for us!

Congrats to our published Queens. Those of us who haven't submitted need to give it a try...you can't win if you don't enter the contest.

Catching up on all the threads I follow and finishing my packing for CHA. Leave tomorrow. Just trying to figure out what projects to take to work on at the Super Crop of Sat. I'll be doing cards, not scrapbook pages. I am putting each project together with what I will need to do it. Trying to get all my embossing and punching, etc. done, so that I don't have to take things that weigh a lot...only paper, ink, adhesive.

Enjoy your Thursday everyone.

Oh, silly me! Jean just called to remind me that Karolyn's card is not in Cardmaker it is in Cards magazine. I have a subscription to Cards magazine, so I have to look for the most recent issue and look at Karolyn's card! Is it July or August, Karolyn?

Stacey - dang - keep your chocolate chip CS! LOL I think I thought it was retired because they came out with that new espresso color which is similar.

Anyway - I've made a bunch of notebooks w/ spirals. Measure just before the spirals start on the edge...you will still see a tiny 1/4" section of the cover. I solve that by tying ribbons all along the spiral edge. Here's a pic of one I did:

What's the word thunderbirds?

Don't get me wrong - I am not really going to have a nervous breakdown or bridezilla attack before or on the wedding. I am perfectly fine...just fine. I get focused and just get through everything that needs to be done. There's nothing to be nervous about - I am marrying the man I love. Right?

Joe is at work...he got home and called back out at about 6PM so I decided to try to get some of the hometown challenge cards done. Great tours and challenges by the way!

I don't have to get up at my usual time because I've got to drop Piper off at the groomers for her haircut at 9:30 - I'll get to sleep in a little. Plus, I'm leaving at 2PM tomorrow. 4-hour workday. Woo-hoo!

I need to get a copy of the magazines to see Jean and Karo's cards. Pat, you ARE lucky! So is Jean. I wish I could spend as much time with my BF as you guys do...maybe soon tow-dolly Michele will be back in NC.

OK, off to get at least one card done. Hugs everyone!

Oh I have GOT to remember which magazines to buy when I'm in Denver next week and at a big enough store to actually carry them all!!!! Oh yeah! I have my Droid....I can log on here and remember!

Jacq.....the countdown is here!!! You will look absolutely amazing and your day will be....well, you special day no matter what!!! You know we'll all be thinking about you and sending the bestest possible good vibes and big hugs!!!!

I've been crankin' out so many cards for challenges and DT requirements lately, I'm hoping to have some time next week to just make some cards to not publish and try to submit again.

So, for the notebook, I ended up measuring how big the cover was and cut out a piece of CS that size (thank goodness for all my retired card stock so I can experiment). I then measure how far from the edge the middle of the hole for the spirals was (1/4") and drew a line with a ruler down the side. I then held the CS next to the spirals and marked where each one hit and transferred each of those lines to the 1/4" line I drew earlier. My crop o dile helped my punch the holes where the 2 lines intersected (boring!) then I clipped to the edge of each so I could slip the CS between the spirals. The first piece I am using as my template.

Since this was for my notebook I use at work, I took it back already before I got a picture. I have sad news about my camera, it's broken and only takes really grainy pictures (sand from the Oregon Coast maybe?) The movie feature still works fine. So I have to wait until AJ gets back from scout camp to borrow his camera.

I did make a few dividers for my notebook using my template. I will try and get some pics of those this weekend. I don't know if I dare bring home my work notebook to get a picture (I can't live without that thing and would probably forget it at home), but maybe I can get a picture of it with my phone - not the best quality, but it will do.

It's the July issue, Pat! I have another card coming out in the September issue, too!

Okay girlies - Baker's Twine is IN DA HOUSE!! I spent a few hours last night dividing up the Divine Twine. The Green Apple was shorted - I'll be emailing the vendor to see what to do. Also the orange had a big flaw in it - another issue I'll deal with. Still have to finish three of the Divine Twine colors, and then on to The Twinery colors. Should have them all split up this weekend, if all goes well. My right arm is a bit achy this morning from all the winding. LOL I'm a weenie, what can I say.

UPS STILL has my PTI stuff. I'm seriously so annoyed by this!! It still says Extreme Weather, or some BS like that. Mr. Brown is going to see a flippin' tornado if they don't turn over my stamps! LOL

Off to get in the shower and see if I can't get some challenge cards made. Anyone playing in the mini VSN tonight?

Hi Karo - hope all is well! I didn't know there was any extreme weather in the country at the moment - who knew?

I may check out VSN tonight, just got the craft table picked up. Tonight is our last night for a while without a teenage boy in the house so we may go do something special with Rachel - I was thinking Subway and the beach, but the weather isn't looking too promising.

OK, got to print my taxes from last year so that I can prove to my employer that my husband is my husband and my kids are my kids...some health benefits audit - have a feeling it's because of Obama's health care reform. I guess I am just a little peeved since they have covered our family for health insurance since 1996 - but they are just now asking for proof?
