We had a fun day yesterday. The nursery is a guest room right now and we took apart the bed to make room for all the baby stuff we've bought. Brandon's last day of school is on August 7th so he can paint the room after that. We bought our crib bedding so now we're able to go forward with decorating. I found it online and I'm in LOVE with it! It's even cuter in person. Here's a fun quiz:
What color are we painting the nursery? What is our theme?
I absolutely LOVE fresh mangos. We had one last night with dinner and the baby was kicking like crazy! I guess he likes them too. I'm going to buy some more and see if the same thing happens. Too fun. I'm 27 weeks today
Jen - glad your dad is improving! Hope your mom gets the help she needs.
Joan - take care of yourself! I'm glad you didn't poke your eye out.
Joanne - I know who you met. I went snooping after you posted
Jennifer- You are so good at decorating. My guess... monkeys.... and yellow!
I didn't sleep well last night. But I don't dare sleep during the day or I will have another restless night!
Jen- You are awake early! Have a good day. Hoping your parents continue doing better!
I didn't sleep well (big shock!). We are having storms here this morning...we were suppossed to go swimming today...guess not. My mom's cleaning ladies are suppossed to come today and of course, we have to go visit her.
I am just tired....very tired....wonder if I can arrange it to take a nap this afternoon...set the kids up with Wii the babysitter.

Jennifer - I'm going with sailboats and blue/yellow. My first guess would have been monkeys, but it's been taken
Hi Joan - how is your face today?
Jen - rain ran through here this morning too. Hope you can find some time today for "jen" time. My MIL used to get weird whenever she was anemic. Poor kidney function can do that too. Anyway hope she comes around and sounds like your dad is doing much better!
Busy weekend. Busy at work. Have some cards to post if I can get around to it today.

Jennifer, thanks so much for the updated misfit list - you are so sweet to keep on top of this.
Have a doctor's appointment this morning and a PT one this afternoon. Geez, this is how it was with my parent's calendar... filled with doctor's visits.
Looks like we may be moving my dad to a different rehab. this place he is at SUCKS!! He was suppossed to get PT on Sunday and didn't. (We knew he wouldn't get it on Sat) And we've been pumping him up for Speech therapy so he can drink FINALLY and we were told Monday, Monday, Monday...welll now they're saying she's off until WEDS!! NOT acceptable. My father is OFF the vent...has been for over 24 hours. (Woo Hoo! Made it through the night too!!!!) He is soo angry which is sapping his strength. Grrrrrrr
You cannot do this to someone who has been through all that he has been through.

I really slept in today, it was after 10 before I woke up. I've been up late and getting up early all weekend, I needed a break.
We are cleaning house this morning before we go outside to work. We cut a chunk of sod out of our yard yesterday and rolled it and stacked it high in the shade. Pauls brother needs it for a project at his house.
Today we are capping off the sprinklers and moving the railroad ties in to build up the dirt in one area of our yard. It slopes where part of the pool is going, we are digging up the dirt and backfilling the slope. Sigh, when I agreed to the pool I thought it would fit on the side of the house that is flat and level.
Oh well, we're doing it in stages and taking breaks for fun. This afternoon we are going to my Parent's house to swim.
Sounds like a great fun time after working hard!! I am so jealous of your sleeping in! I am thinking about a nap myself! I cannot believe it has turned into a beautiful day!!

Jennifer - that you for the new list. I have to remember to print it out so I have it handy!
Jen - maybe it is a good thing your dad is getting mad though. Obviously that means he is doing better. I agree he should haven't to wait ANOTHER THREE DAYS for the speech therapist. That is crazy.
I feel lousy - with Aunt Flo visiting and all.
Nursery - hm, all my original thoughts are taken. . . let's see - blue/brown and cars. I would prefer to say monkeys, but . . .
I love Facebook. I was just chatting with my cousin in Spain. Her mother is fighting breast cancer but is so upset about my parents she wants to come. I told her no when my parents are better and she is better they can come and we will throw a big party.

Jennifer- My granddaughter's bedroom is yellow with monkeys. They even nicknamed her monkey, after she was born they called her BOO!
Jen- I agree about finding a new place for your dad!
Jennifer - that set is absolutely adorable!!!!! I love your idea of framing the decals. I think it will look great. But you have such a good sense of decorating and stuff anyway!!!! How fun.
Julie is home from her first day of mission week. She is tired but had a good time. They had some down town at the end of the day and one of the younger boys got annoying. He's our neighbor so they probably know each other too well.
Great idea Jennifer - I love the idea of framing!! You can frame that blanket too!
Joanne - glad Julie had a good, exhausting day. Hard work is good!!
Anyone making anything good for dinner? We're doing leftovers here - half a chicken sandwich for me and some salad and leftover chicken fingers (at least they are real and not fast food) and fries for the kids with some raw green peppers for a veggie. Somehow, my little picky eater loves green peppers - this is new - but it's the only veggie he willingly eats and while he doesn't eat a lot of it, I am happy he picked that as his veggie - you can incorporate peppers into a lot of dishes! The older one isn't happy about peppers - he prefers carrots preferably served with peanut butter to dip in. LOL.

Peppers were never a veggie my kids cared for. For years the only thing they loved was broccoli. I was very happy about that. My older one eats a good variety of veggies, but my younger one doesn't. She is a salad girl (mostly greens) and will eat carrots with ranch dressing for dipping!
Jennifer - here's my silly question of the day. How do you pick a ripe mango? Is it supposed to give slightly? I've only bought it fresh cut up and it is more expensive that way.
My favorite fruits are plums, blueberries, raspberries, nectarines and cantelope. I like orange but really can't eat them since I get acid reflux. I think I might try a smoothie though - 1/2 c orange juice, cup of Greek non-fat yogurt and some ice cubes. That I could probably handle because the yogurt would greatly reduce the acid. I can drink coffee if I add extra milk (or 2% rather than skim)

Yep, it should be soft - like an avocado. I've tried the ones cut up in jars and they are NOT the same as fresh. I don't like them dried either.
The ones I got today are too hard to eat tonight So I'm making Peanut Butter Pie instead
I don't like mangos!!! I mean, they're OK, but I prefer other fruits way more.
The only fruits I know of that I don't like are Kumquats, papaya, cantaloupe and plums. I so want to like plums so I buy them occasionally and I never like them. I need to stop buying them - LOL!!
I have always eaten more veggies than fruit. When my brother and I were little, I was the veggie eater, he ate the fruit. Don't understand why!
Your trying to like plums is like Marie trying to like mashed potatoes! She is convinced she should like them but every time she tries them she doesn't care for them. UNLESS they have garlic in them. But she likes more garlic than I do!

I LOVE mashed potatoes! With or without garlic. Now I want some
Your smoothie sounds good too. I'm so hungry, everything sounds good right now!
