Cat - bummer about missing the air show. We're going to one here tomorrow - just saw it advertised in the paper.

Hedgie - congrats on the new job!

Joanne - did you ever find your checkbook?

My FIL came over this morning and helped us prune our big Crabapple tree. It hangs over our driveway and drops the apples and makes such a mess every Fall (which is now!). We debated whether we wanted it pruned, or just cut down. We cut A LOT off! It looks so much better. He told us about a spray that can be put on the tree to omit the fruit. It has to be sprayed in the early Spring so I guess we'll try that next year. It is a very pretty tree, just not the right kind for a driveway. He's selling his tree service business in December so we needed to make our decision while we still have free access to his equipment.

Well, we lost a tough game - completely overmatched. We played the town where Darmouth College is located ($$$). VERY good players. Scary good.

The creep has been bringing the sl*t to the boys' games. Wow. She's gross. She's heavier than I thought she'd be. Both times I've seen her she's had on short skirts. Yeah, at a kids' soccer game????? She's not pretty either. Losing this weight is going to be sweet, sweet revenge!

Hoping to break out some stamps tonight or tomorrow am. I haven't stamped in forever!

Hi girls! Back from the baby shower. So many of the girl's friends/family have babies of their own. There were four there today! Two boys, two girls, all cuties! And four pregnant ladies. How fun for them!!!!

I did not find the checkbook and I was sure I would as I pulled out a new register and the next pack of checks. I do not have a checkbook holder tho. I figured, what the heck, I'll order something nice. So I did! A breast cancer awareness one. But when I was checking out there was a problem with the order. I was told to look for an email. I don't have one yet. I don't know what this means. Silly little problems, but oh boy! For a checkbook?

Hedgie - that is great news about your job. YAY for the benefits. Awesome!!!

Jen - sorry about the games today. I'm afraid to take the metabolic test . . .

There's nothing to be afraid of! It just tells you what you should eat. After you're done taking it, I can send you the info for what you should be eating. You can take what you want from it - nothing or a little or the whole thing!

I will take the metabolic test! I need some help....Joanne let's you and I try it and see what it tells us? They say sometimes just a few smallish changes can make a big difference.

Thanks for the test, Jen. I just looked it over - I've never taken anything like that.

Got nothing to lose by taking it.

I was very surprised to come out as protein. I've actually started eating grass-fed red meat again. I don't love it, but I am determined to lose weight. I've only had it once or twice so far, will still rely on leaner chicken and fish.

One important thing I learned is to NEVER eat a carb without a protein. Bad, bad, bad.

I learned that at a diabetic class. Something I never knew. And I knew a girl who said she never mixed carbs and protein. She said is such a haughty manner - I never liked her anyway and now I know she was the one who was wrong!

We will be leaving in the morning to pick up our grandson, Alexander, for our monthly visit. Did not get to see him last month sooooo looking forward to seeing him. Hope the day will be dry enough to take him to Fallfest in Westminster, that is, if he wants to go. It used to be an must annual event when he and his sister were younger.

Home from work.... I am getting tooooooo old to work 10 1/2 hr days. I am tired. The weather cooperated for the outdoor part of the day. I did get sunburned on my cheeks. That happens all the time. It was cool but sunny.

Hedgie- WAHOOO
Caternia- sorry you had to leave early from your vacation. Have fun with your grandson.
Jen- I would be interested, too! Hope the boys at least had fun at the soccer game.
Liz- We had a beautiful day for homecoming, today. The school celebrated its 50th graduating classes anniversary with a big hoopla la. It would be great if the weather cooperated for you!
jennifer- We had an estimate to trim our apple tree. They wanted $600-$800. I guess an apple tree should be pruned in the winter.

I was thinking of you, Joan and how much fun going to the competition would be if you were there, too!

THEY WON! Not sure of the score yet, but they took overall and percussion. No guard, though

It wasn't raining, but was VERY humid and sticky. Hope it holds out for the parade--expecially as I'm walking too.

Our HS turns 50 this year, too. They have lots of things scheduled to mark the anniversary.

It's a great morning so far!!!

Went for a walk this am and ran more than half of it...it just felt so good! This lifestyle change is really agreeing with me. I have energy, and I am down 7.4 pounds in 11 days! I know the weight loss will slow eventually, but I am sooo excited!

Was just doing some dishes - they piled up. Need to start some laundry and then I am going to stamp while watching some football.

My oldest has a soccer game at 4:45, so we'll do that and then we're going out to dinner at an Italian/brick oven pizza place that has gluten free pizza and uses local ingredients whenever possible.

Leave you with a Sunday funny...

A little girl dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!"

While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again.

As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late ...But please don't shove me either!"

Nichole- Thinking of you! It is so hard to lose someone your own age.
Liz- I would love to watch the competition. I was working so I did not get to see the marching band half time show. This is the first one I have missed since 1993. Congrats to the kids. Have fun at the parade. wish you were having our weather. It is 60 degrees and sunny.
Caterina- great Sunday funny!
Sherry- DS is still ill. The dr wants him to come back if he is not better tomorrow. He told me he HATES flying. It was so cramped and full. He met an orthopedic surgeon on the plane. He had just performed a back surgery. DS had rod and fusion back surgery from T2-L2 in 2004. A titanium rod broke in his back a few years ago. The surgeon was doing an emergency back surgery on some one whose titanium rod had broken. he gave DS the same advice his own dr had. To not redo the surgery unless he is in terrible pain. I sure hope that never happens for him. He was in the hospital for 11 days the last time. I was a nervous wreck. Small world.
Jen- Can you send me the test? I will PM you my e-mail. It is in the Misfit list.
I want to finish some cards today! I am a bit tired today. Working 20 hrs in 2 days is a bit much for this body.

I didn't find it. I had changed purses, but I looked there. Twice. Checked between the seats of the car, too. Haven't used the checkbook in a store in awhile. That is the weird thing. I remember writing a check to someone as reimbursement for flowers for my neighbor. I was sitting on the couch. I have checked: under the couch, between the cushions, under my laptop (I've had things slide under!), the coffee table. And the kitchen counter which had a pile of bills to be paid (where I thought it would be), the most recent mail and a pile to be filed. NOTHING. NADA!!! iABSOLUTAMENTE NADA!!

Had a great morning with my Sunday school kids. LOTS of new faces that totally energized me. Since our numbers have been dropping instead of growing, this was a great motivator for me.

Came home and changed as it was HOT and sticky. Did some laundry, dug out some stuff for church that I really have to go through. I can get rid of several small boxes - always a good thing. Made a few Christmas cards. I have laundry to fold, but I'll do that later. Also not sure what we're doing for dinner. Bill and the girls went to a corn maze.

Aunt Flo decided to show up today. I was expecting it since I'd been cramping a lot this week. However, she came with a vengeance and that usually isn't the case. I'll be glad when she stops visiting all together.

Nikki - so sorry to hear about your classmate. I noticed quite a few of my classmates and younger had passed away. Several were from accidents, but no matter what it is sad.

Back from soccer. We went out to eat afterwards. I had half a gluten free white pizza. We'll see what my body thinks of that over the next day or so. So far so good, though I think my weight will be up tomorrow.

So proud of my boy. He played 3 games this weekend - 2 with the A team and 1 with the B team. All in goal. He only plays half the game - he alternates with the other goalie. They walked away with 1 win, 1 tie and 1 loss. He only let in 3 goals...1 per game, so he did very well against some tough teams.
